> MOBILE ROUTERS AND NETWORK MOBILITY
>
> http://www.argreenhouse.com/society/J-SAC/Calls/mobile_routers.html
>
> Network mobility support is concerned with managing the mobility of an
> entire network that is changing its point of attachment to the Internet
> and thus its reachability in the Internet topology. If network mobility
> is not explicitly supported by some mechanisms, existing sessions break
> and connectivity to the global Internet is lost. A mobile network is
> composed of Mobile Router(s) (MR) and Mobile Network Nodes (MNN) that
> can be fixed or mobile. There has been rapid development in network
> mobility support, i.e., providing Internet connectivity to the networks
> that move using mobile routers since the inception of Mobile IPv4 in
> 1996. Seamless Internet access in public transportation such as in
> trains and busses can be possible if mobile routers are used. Cars with
> low-power sensors seamlessly connected to the Internet constitute yet
> another example of networks which move. To date, some airline companies
> announced Internet connectivity support during commercial flights and
> this trend is expected to accelerate and cover most if not all flights.
>
> This issue is focused on modeling, analysis, and simulation of network
> mobility support protocols. We solicit papers presenting original and
> unpublished work including, but not limited to the following topics:
>
> * Modeling and Analysis of Network Mobility
> o Modeling, analysis and simulation of mobile router
> o Protocols for route optimization
> o Mobility issues inside a mobile network
> o Mobile IPv6 extensions for route optimization
> o Nested mobile networks
> o Multihomed mobile networks
> o Operational issues to deploy mobile networks
> o Auto-configuration for mobile networks
> o Mobile router support on cellular phone platforms
>
> * Services in the Networks that Move
> o Service advertisement and discovery protocols in networks that
> move
> o Specifications and models of services for network mobility
> o Encryption and authentication in service access for network
> mobility
>
> * Security Issues in Network Mobility
> o Security analysis of present network mobility support protocols
> o Applications of AAA and EAP to network mobility
> o Interaction with security-enhanced modules in other layers
> (vertically) or other middle boxes (horizontally)

> Please note potential authors should create their own accounts through
> the EDAS peer review website before submitting manuscript(s). EDAS will
> accept manuscripts in PDF format only. There will be one round of
> reviewers and acceptance will be limited to those papers requiring only
> moderate revisions. The following timetable applies:
>
> Manuscript Submission: JUNE 1, 2005
> Acceptance Notification: December 1, 2005
> Final Manuscript Due: March 1, 2006

CALL FOR PAPERS
IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications
MOBILE ROUTERS AND NETWORK MOBILITY
http://www.argreenhouse.com/society/J-SAC/Calls/mobile_routers.html
Network mobility support is concerned with managing the mobility of an
entire network that is changing its point of attachment to the Internet
and thus its reachability in the Internet topology. If network mobility
is not explicitly supported by some mechanisms, existing sessions break
and connectivity to the global Internet is lost. A mobile network is
composed of Mobile Router(s) (MR) and Mobile Network Nodes (MNN) that
can be fixed or mobile. There has been rapid development in network
mobility support, i.e., providing Internet connectivity to the networks
that move using mobile routers since the inception of Mobile IPv4 in
1996. Seamless Internet access in public transportation such as in
trains and busses can be possible if mobile routers are used. Cars with
low-power sensors seamlessly connected to the Internet constitute yet
another example of networks which move. To date, some airline companies
announced Internet connectivity support during commercial flights and
this trend is expected to accelerate and cover most if not all flights.
This issue is focused on modeling, analysis, and simulation of network
mobility support protocols. We solicit papers presenting original and
unpublished work including, but not limited to the following topics:
* Modeling and Analysis of Network Mobility
o Modeling, analysis and simulation of mobile router
o Protocols for route optimization
o Mobility issues inside a mobile network
o Mobile IPv6 extensions for route optimization
o Nested mobile networks
o Multihomed mobile networks
o Operational issues to deploy mobile networks
o Auto-configuration for mobile networks
o Mobile router support on cellular phone platforms
* Services in the Networks that Move
o Service advertisement and discovery protocols in networks that
move
o Specifications nad models of services for network mobility
o Encryption and authentication in service access for network
mobility
* Security Issues in Network Mobility
o Security analysis of present network mobility support protocols
o Applications of AAA and EAP to network mobility
o Interaction with security-enhanced modules in other layers
(vertically) or other middle boxes (horizontally)

Call for Papers
ACC 2005
1st IEEE WoWMoM Workshop on
Autonomic Communications and Computing
June 18, 2005 - Taormina, Italy
in conjunction with IEEE WoWMoM 2005
http://www.autonomic-communication.org/acc/index.html
Sponsored by IEEE WoWMoM
Ubiquitous and self-organized Internet, ad hoc networks, wireless sensor
networks are expected to be some of the basic building blocks of
pervasive computing
environments. However, the promise of pervasive computing environments
will not be realized unless these systems can effectively "disappear".
In order to do that they need to become autonomous by managing their own
evolution and configuration changes without explicit user or
administrator action.
The goal of this workshop is to provide a forum to exchange ideas,
discuss solutions, and share experiences among researchers,
professionals, and application developers both from industry and
academia. Original papers addressing both theoretical and practical
aspects of autonomic communications and computing are solicited. Papers
describing prototype implementations and deployment are particularly
welcome. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
- Architecture and models for autonomic communication and computing
systems
- Tools and techniques for designing, analyzing and building
autonomic systems and networks
- Adaptive security for self protection of systems and networks
- Economic, biological and social models used for autonomic
communications
- Novel management techniques for autonomic communication and
computing systems
- Sensing, monitoring and measurements for self-managing systems and
networks
- Languages, development and securely programmable environments for
autonomic communications systems
- Advanced technologies for enabling autonomic communication and
computing systems
- Autonomic communication and computing testbeds and measurements
SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
Papers should contain original material and not be previously published,
or currently submitted for consideration elsewhere. Manuscripts must be
limited to 5 pages in IEEE 8.5x11 conference format, and formatted in
strict accordance with the IEEE Computer Society author guidelines. All
submissions will be handled electronically. Authors should prepare a PDF
file and submit it to acc2005(a)autonomic-communication.org. Accepted

Regardless of different end-systems and the underlying network
infrastructure, multimedia plays an important rule in almost
any application. These applications spread from collaborative
environments to gaming applications and include also m-commerce.
New middleware providing an abstraction layer for particular
hardware like mobile phones, PDAs or wearables, and particular
network services, as well as network requirements are key issues
in this field.
In this context the Grid, which was originally designed for
distributed computing over a network of heterogeneous resources,
is becoming an interesting and challenging research area. Here,
dependability and adaptability of distributed multimedia systems
must be taken into account. This yields in new challenges to the
underlying networks. Emerging P2P and Ad-hoc-network technologies
are discovered as means for the design of multimedia frameworks
and applications.

Ubiquitous computing leads to the appearance of new networked devices
and creates a unique challenge by the proliferation of distributed
computing involving all heterogeneous computing devices. The concept
of "smart object" is defined as the junction between miniaturization
with the development of wireless communications. A large number of
applications in daily life enriched can be imagined: from PDA networks
to smart space, from wireless smartcard to smart fridges. Smart
objects like smartcards, RFID tags, wireless sensors, smart dust,
require suitable basic software which takes into account the
specificity of smart objects: limited resources, mobile and untrusted
environment.
This workshop covers the area of system and networking for smart
devices. In particular, it will cover operating system architecture,
