CALL FOR PAPERS
IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications
MOBILE ROUTERS AND NETWORK MOBILITY
http://www.argreenhouse.com/society/J-SAC/Calls/mobile_routers.html
Network mobility support is concerned with managing the mobility of an
entire network that is changing its point of attachment to the Internet
and thus its reachability in the Internet topology. If network mobility
is not explicitly supported by some mechanisms, existing sessions break
and connectivity to the global Internet is lost. A mobile network is
composed of Mobile Router(s) (MR) and Mobile Network Nodes (MNN) that
can be fixed or mobile. There has been rapid development in network
mobility support, i.e., providing Internet connectivity to the networks
that move using mobile routers since the inception of Mobile IPv4 in
1996. Seamless Internet access in public transportation such as in
trains and busses can be possible if mobile routers are used. Cars with
low-power sensors seamlessly connected to the Internet constitute yet
another example of networks which move. To date, some airline companies
announced Internet connectivity support during commercial flights and
this trend is expected to accelerate and cover most if not all flights.
This issue is focused on modeling, analysis, and simulation of network
mobility support protocols. We solicit papers presenting original and
unpublished work including, but not limited to the following topics:
* Modeling and Analysis of Network Mobility
o Modeling, analysis and simulation of mobile router
o Protocols for route optimization
o Mobility issues inside a mobile network
o Mobile IPv6 extensions for route optimization
o Nested mobile networks
o Multihomed mobile networks
o Operational issues to deploy mobile networks
o Auto-configuration for mobile networks
o Mobile router support on cellular phone platforms
* Services in the Networks that Move
o Service advertisement and discovery protocols in networks that
move
o Specifications nad models of services for network mobility
o Encryption and authentication in service access for network
mobility
* Security Issues in Network Mobility
o Security analysis of present network mobility support protocols
o Applications of AAA and EAP to network mobility
o Interaction with security-enhanced modules in other layers
(vertically) or other middle boxes (horizontally)
Prospective authors should follow the IEEE J-SAC manuscript format
described in the Information for Authors. Authors MUST submit their
draft manuscripts through the EDAS peer review website, together with a
short abstract (approximately 150 words) in the EDAS website form.
Please note potential authors should create their own accounts through
the EDAS peer review website before submitting manuscript(s). EDAS will
accept manuscripts in PDF format only. There will be one round of
reviewers and acceptance will be limited to those papers requiring only
moderate revisions. The following timetable applies:
Manuscript Submission: JUNE 1, 2005
Acceptance Notification: December 1, 2005
Final Manuscript Due: March 1, 2006
Publication: 3rd Quarter 2006

Subject: SIGOPS-ANNOUNCE supplemental posting (EUROSYS 2006 Call for Papers)
Date: Wed, 30 Mar 2005 14:40:15 -0800
From: Geoff Voelker <voelker(a)CS.UCSD.EDU>
Reply-To: Geoff Voelker <voelker(a)CS.UCSD.EDU>
To: SIGOPS-ANNOUNCE(a)LISTSERV.ACM.ORG
EUROSYS 2006
Leuven April 18-21, 2006
http://www.cs.kuleuven.ac.be/conference/EuroSys2006/
EuroSys2006 is the first of a series of system conferences located in
Europe. It welcomes submissions and attendance from all over the world.
It will be held in Leuven, Belgium, April 18-21, 2006. EuroSys aims
to bring together researchers from different areas of computer systems,
who are otherwise spread over multiple conferences. As a result, we
seek papers on all aspects of computer systems. We especially seek
papers that cross the divide between areas and address:
* All areas of operating systems and distributed systems
* Systems aspects of:
- Programming language support
- Databases
- Distributed algorithms
- Middleware
- Parallel and concurrent computing
- Clusters and grids
- Mobile and pervasive computing
- Embedded computers and tiny devices
- Novel user interfaces
- Real-time computing
- Security
- Dependable computing
- Novel uses of information technology
- Management, measurement and monitoring
* Experience with existing systems
* Reproduction of previous results
* Negative results
* Early ideas
Papers should report, where possible, on the design, implementation,
analysis, evaluation, and deployment of such systems. However, at least
one session of the conference will be reserved for "idea" papers. These
papers may not be held to the same standards in terms of evaluation as
other submissions. Similarly, one session of the conference will be
reserved for "experience papers", reflecting on the use or the lack of
use of earlier concepts. For such papers, novelty of the concept is
less of an issue, but depth of evaluation is of paramount importance.
Authors may but need not designate their paper for one of these
sessions.
To encourage diversity, any single author will be limited to at most
two submissions. To avoid conflict of interests, papers authored by
program committee members will be held to a significantly higher
standard, and their number in the final program will be severely
restricted. Reviewing will not be blind. Authors should feel free to
include their affiliation in the paper, and include all references in
full.
Papers will be reviewed by the program committee with the help of
outside referees. The primary criterion for acceptance will be the
impact of the work on the systems community and the extent to which the
papers bridge gaps between different communities. Novelty, clarity of
explanation and thorough evaluation will be additional criteria. Papers
may be provisionally accepted, subject to further shepherding by a
member of the program committee before final acceptance. The conference
does not have a predefined format or a target number of accepted papers.
Papers will be accepted or rejected based on their merits, and the
conference will be organized in a format that accommodates the number
of papers that meet that criterion.
Papers should not exceed 14 pages double column including figures and
tables in standard ACM format. Papers that exceed this length will be
rejected without consideration of their merit. Papers must be
submitted electronically in printable postscript or pdf form. For
detailed submission instructions, refer to the submission web site.

IEEE Communications Society is pleased to announce a new symposium!
IEEE Symposium on New Frontiers in Dynamic Spectrum Access Networks
(DySPAN) will be held 8 - 11 November in Baltimore, Maryland, USA.
Current radio technology trends promise to enable "Dynamic Spectrum Access"
(DSA) networks, using wide-band spectrum sensing, real-time spectrum
allocation and acquisition, and infrastructureless mesh networks. Not only
do these trends challenge the existing technologies, they challenge the
traditional "command and control" methods of allocating and licensing
spectrum by government fiat. IEEE DySPAN 2005 will be a new,
first-of-its-kind symposium on DSA Networks that brings together the
technologists designing and building these new exciting devices with the
spectrum policy community that will be charged with re-architecting the
legal regime for managing spectrum in the 21st century that must
accommodate these new technologies.
DySPAN 2005 seeks original, previously unpublished papers with either a
Technology focus or a Policy, Law & Economics focus as well as Position
Papers which are innovative and forward-looking and offer new insights that
show promise of pointing out future research directions.

GI/ITG KuVS Fachgespräch "Energiebewußte Systeme und Methoden"
==============================================================
1. Juli 2005, Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg
Aufruf zur Einreichung von Beiträgen
------------------------------------
minimieren. Neue Kommunikationsparadigmen helfen in hochmobilen Netzen
Weitere
Informationen werden unter
http://www7.informatik.uni-erlangen.de/~dressler/fg-energie/ bereitgestellt.
Organisation
