+++ Call for Papers: AuLe 2006 +++
Workshop AudioLearning 2006
im Rahmen der 4. Deutsche e-Learning Fachtagung der Gesellschaft für
Informatik
Darmstadt
11. September 2006
http://wwwra.informatik.uni-rostock.de/aule2006
--------------------------------------------
sollen hier erstmalig u. a. Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten analysiert und eine
Umsetzung dieser angeregt sowie die Aufbereitung dieser Lehrmedien für
allgegenwärtige Anwendungsszenarien untersucht werden.
Themengebiete:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- dienstebasierte Architekturen
- kontextorientierte, ortsbasierte Dienste
- mobile Kommunikationsarchitekturen
- Frontend- und Backend-Systeme
- Integration in den Ausbildungs- und Weiterbildungsbetrieb
- Einbindung in das Curriculum
- Bereitstellung von und Zugang zu Lehrangeboten
- Anwendungsszenarien
- didaktisch-pädagogische Aspekte
- Strukturierung der Lehrformate
Es werden originäre Forschungs-, Entwicklungs- und Erfahrungsbeiträge
erbeten, die einen Umfang von 8 Seiten im Format der GI-Lecture Notes in
Informatics (LNI) nicht überschreiten sollten. Die Workshop-Sprache ist
deutsch.
Termine:
~~~~~~~~
12.06.2006 Einreichung von Beiträgen
10.07.2006 Benachrichtigung der Autorinnen und Autoren
23.06.2006 Abgabe der Endversion

2nd IEEE International Workshop on Heterogeneous Multi-Hop Wireless and
Mobile Networks 2006 (IEEE MHWMN'06)
Website: http://www.ececs.uc.edu/~qzeng/MHWMN2006/CFP.htm
In conjunction with IEEE MASS 2006 (www.ieee-mass.org), Vancouver,
Canada, October 9-12, 2006
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AIM and SCOPE
The traditional centralized wireless and mobile networks
are based on single-hop architecture and rely on the existing fixed
infrastructure such as base stations or access points. The proliferation
and deployment of radio access networks such as Wireless WANs, Wireless
LANs, and Wireless PANs with distinguishing characteristics of data rate,
coverage range, power, mobility, and prices will clearly lead to a need
for seamless and ubiquitous access across these various networks. Such an
integrated heterogeneous environment enables a user to access a particular
network depending upon the application needs and the types of radio access
networks (RANs) available (e.g., cellular network, ad hoc, WLAN, WPAN
etc). The heterogeneous multi-hop wireless and mobile networks, on the
other hand, provide unlimited mobility and greater flexibility but
introduce a number of challenges due to dynamic network topology. The
design of efficient and scalable protocols for existing multi-hop wireless
and mobile networks such as wireless and mobile ad hoc networks continue
to pose challenges at all the layers of networking stack. Therefore, it is
necessary to investigate a global heterogeneous architecture and services
that together provide seamless integration of single-hop networks (e.g.,
cellular, WLAN, WWAN) and multi-hop mobile ad hoc networks.
The aim of this workshop is to bring together practitioners and
researchers from both academia and industry in order to have a forum for
discussion and technical presentations on the latest research and future
research directions in heterogeneous multi-hop wireless and mobile
networks. We are seeking original and previously unpublished research
papers addressing theoretical and application issues in heterogeneous
multi-hop wireless mobile networks.

NOSSDAV 2007
17th International workshop on Network and Operating Systems Support for
Digital Audio & Video
Urbana Champaign, IL, USA
June 4-5, 2007
http://www.nossdav.org/2007/CFP.pdf
For seventeen years, NOSSDAV has fostered cutting edge,
state of the art research in multimedia and newly
emerging areas such as networked games and peertopeer
streaming. The workshop environment encourages
lively discussion among participants and invites strong
feedback for work in progress. In 2007, NOSSDAV will
be held at the University of Illinois at UrbanaChampaign
IL, USA. UIUC is in driving distance to Chicago, offering
spectacular architecture, art museums and live jazz.
Urbana is close to various national historical landmarks
including President Lincoln's house & library.
NOSSDAV invites submissions on all areas of multimedia computing and
networking and strongly encourages work in progress in emerging areas.
Papers grounded in high quality experimental research based on prototype
and real systems are highly valued. NOSSDAV will give extra
consideration to papers that aim to comprehensively validate previous
work in some topic within multimedia, propose new directions for
research or call into question existing conventional wisdom. Topics of
interest include, but are not limited to:
• Peer to peer streaming
• Networked games
• Sensor networks and architectures
• In network stream processing
• Wireless and mobile multimedia systems
• 3D multimedia and teleimmersion
• Streaming 3D graphics and virtual world
• Application level multicast
• Multimedia security
• Digital rights management
• Realtime operating system support for multimedia
• Multimedia middleware and frameworks
A broad view will be taken in deciding what topics are within scope.
Please feel free to contact the workshop co chairs if you are unsure and
wish to check if a particular paper or topic is within the workshop
scope. As always, student participation is strongly encouraged. To
encourage a good mix of seasoned researchers as well as students, we
will be offering discounted registration for student members who attend
with their faculty advisor.
Submissions (as well as the camera ready final versions of accepted
papers) should be no longer than 6 pages.
We expect these submissions to be the kernel of what will eventually
lead to full length papers at high quality conferences or journals.
