MobiArch 2013 welcomes submissions from researchers and practitioners,
in exploration of recent advances in architectures, protocols, and
experiences with emerging technologies on various mobility issues over
the Internet. Paper submissions that emphasize on wireless
infrastructures and mobility patterns for mobility support, new mobility
protocols, service discovery, routing and location management, mobile
network performance evaluation and modeling, security, architectural
impacts and deployment considerations, are especially solicited. This
year, MobiArch is co-located with Mobicom 2013.
Topics of MobiArch 2013 cover all aspects of architectural issues and
system support for mobility in the Internet, including but not limited to:
* Mechanisms for seamless user mobility in high-speed broadband networks
* Impact of new wireless technologies/services, networking
technologies, and mobility patterns on the Internet architecture.
* Mobile network measurements and simulations that offer insights on
user mobility patterns and trends.
* Architectures and protocols for mobility support in the Internet,
ranging from link to application layers or cross-layer design solutions.
* Architectures and protocols for service partitioning, code
offloading, and data center management to support mobile devices in the
compute cloud.
* Impact of social aspects on mobility architectures, mobile
application and protocol design.
* Addressing and routing issues (e.g., locator/identifier split,
content routing, multi-homing).
* Location management, representation of geolocation, and support for
location-aware application and protocols.
* Security and privacy issues in mobile networks and impact on
Internet architecture.
* Role of network virtualization in mobile Internet architecture.
* Economic, regulation, and deployment issues of mobility solutions
(infrastructure and devices)
The workshop encourages the submission of exploratory studies that
identify new challenges in cellular network dynamics and innovative
mobility services

ACM CHANTS 2013 - 8th Workshop on Challenged Networks
co-located with ACM MobiCom 2013
September 30-October 4, Miami, Florida, USA
www.acm-chants.org/13
______________________________________________________________________
SCOPE AND OVERVIEW
__________________
Challenged networks comprise those situations where communication is
desired, but traditional Internet protocol architectures fail to provide
it effectively. Such networks may be characterized by intermittent
connectivity, a heterogeneous mix of nodes, nodal churn, and widely
varying network conditions. Common examples of challenged networks
include high delay environments such as inter-planetary networks,
limited power environments such as sensor and wildlife monitoring
networks, underwater networks, and communication in settings that lack
infrastructure such as rural and remote areas, and military
battlefields. Challenged networks also find application in everyday
settings, when access to traditional infrastructure is restricted,
expensive, overly complex, or rapidly changing.
This workshop builds on the success of the seven previous CHANTS
workshops, and WDTN 2005. CHANTS provides an ideal venue for researchers
and engineers to present cutting-edge work and results, as research
papers or demos, in the following topics:
• Delay/disruption-tolerant networks (DTNs)
• Opportunistic communication and computing
• Architecture, design, and implementation of communication systems for
challenged networks
• Modeling, analysis and characterization of challenged networks and
protocols
• Security/Privacy concerns and solutions in challenged networks
• Case studies involving real challenged network solutions in various
stages of development or use
• Applications for challenged networks (e.g. disaster relief and
emergency management, vehicular networks, mobile social networking,
censorship evasion, crowd-sourcing, sensor networks)
• Green and energy-efficient communication using challenged networks
• Real-world mobility trace collection, analysis, and modeling for
challenged environments
• Network science methods for challenged networks
• Mobile data offloading and content-centric approaches via challenged
networks
• Test and simulation tools for evaluating challenged network systems
• Configuration, management, and monitoring of challenged networks
• Applications of challenged networking techniques to communication in
daily life
• Mobile cloud solutions in challenged networks
Selected papers will be forward-looking, will describe their
relationship to existing work, and will have impact and implications for
ongoing or future research. We aim to accept approximately 12 papers,
and to have a highly interactive workshop, including a keynote speaker
and a panel. In addition, demos have been an integral part of CHANTS,
and we aim to accept up to ten demos. Paper authors who can also run a
demo of their work are encouraged to do so. In exceptional cases, where
live demos are simply not practical to present, poster or video
presentations of practical results are acceptable.
PAPER FORMAT AND SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

Third ACM MobiHoc Workshop on Pervasive Wireless Healthcare
--------------------------------------------------------------------
To be held in conjunction with MobiHoc 2013
http://www.sigmobile.org/mobihoc/2013/
29 July - 1 August, 2013. Bangalore, India
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Technical sponsorship: ACM SIGMOBILE
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Scope of the workshop
-----------------------
After the two first successful editions of MobileHealth,
MobileHealth'2011
in Paris (France) and MobileHealth'2012 in Hilton Head Island (USA), the
third edition of the workshop will be held in Bangalore - India on
July 29th, 2013 in conjunction with the 14th edition of ACM MobiHoc
symposium (MobiHoc 2013).
Recent Advances in technology has led to the development of small,
intelligent, wearable sensors capable of remotely performing critical
health monitoring tasks and then transmitting patient's data back to
health care centers over wireless medium. Such wireless health
monitoring platforms aim to continuously monitor mobile patients needing
permanent surveillance. However, to set up such platforms several issues
along the communication chain should be resolved. The acquisition of
medical information via a set of wireless sensors embedded in the
patient
himself, the treatment and use of this information either by a local
contractor equipment or offset after transfer in 3G and/or WiFi
connection
to a data server, the access to the collected data, ...etc. are some of
the important challenges that we have to consider. Each level represents
a fairly complex subsystem with a local hierarchy employed to ensure
efficiency, portability, security, and reduced cost.
MobileHealth'2013 workshop aims to provide a forum for the interaction
of these multiple areas and would be an important chance to discuss and
understand what aspects have to be considered to provide effective
pervasive wireless healthcare systems. The workshop will include
presentations of theoretical and experimental achievements, innovative
wireless systems, prototyping efforts, case studies and advances in
technology related to wireless healthcare networking and systems.
This announcement solicits technical papers describing original,
previously unpublished research, not currently under review by
another conference or journal. Submissions should clearly identify
how they relate to issues on wireless healthcare networking systems.
Contributions describing an overall working system are particularly of
interest.
Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Mobile devices for healthcare
- Wearable and Implantable Wireless sensors for healthcare
- Communications infrastructure for mobile healthcare apps
- Protocols for wireless healthcare
- Scalability, performance and reliability of mobile healthcare
apps
- Pervasive Wireless communications in healthcare
- Service and device discovery
- Data fusion and context elaboration
- Wireless monitoring and ambient assisted applications for
healthcare
- Energy Efficiency in Wireless health monitoring
- Pervasive Health Systems and Services
- Authentication and Sensors' monitoring

** Apologies for multiple copies **
C a l l F o r P a p e r s
8th International Workshop on
Critical Information Infrastructures Security (CRITIS 2013)
Amsterdam, The Netherlands
September 16-18, 2013
http://www.critis2013.nl
The annually held CRITIS conference is devoted to Critical (Information) Infrastructure security, protection and resilience. The 8th edition will be held from 16-18 September 2013 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The CRITIS 2013 Call for Papers is addressed to all researchers and critical infrastructure stakeholders who wish to present their papers at the conference. More information can be found at: www.critis2013.nl.
Modern societies increasingly depend on critical infrastructures. Those themselves increasingly depend on and are entangled with Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). Disruption or loss of (ICT-based) critical infrastructures may result in serious consequences for the functioning of the society, the economy, the functioning of governments, the ecology and social well-being of people, and in the most unfortunate cases loss of human lives, livestock and other animals. As a consequence, the security, reliability and resilience of these infrastructures are critical for the society. Critical (Information) Infrastructure Protection (C(I)IP) is therefore a major objective for governments, companies, operators of these infrastructures and the worldwide research community.
CRITIS 2013 is set to continue a well-established tradition of presenting innovative research and exploring new challenges for the protection of critical information-based infrastructures (CIP/CIIP). CRITIS brings together stakeholders from industry, operators and governments as well as researchers and professionals from academia, applied research organisations and industry interested in all different aspects of C(I)IP. One focus of CRITIS 2013 is on the new challenges of cyber resilience of smart cities and smart mobility, a topic that will be highlighted by thought provoking and visionary keynote speeches and by conference papers.
The second day of CRITIS 2013 will be a meeting place between the diverse set of C(I)IP stakeholders with their short, medium and long term needs and the academic and applied research communities. CRITIS2013 intends to foster collaboration, to find common, collaborative approaches towards solutions and to boost R&D to address the identified needs. On the third day, the focus will be on the (academic) advances in C(I)IP R&D. A (virtual) multi-disciplinary community of new talented PhD students and junior researchers in the field of C(I)IP will be build: YOUNG CRITIS. Young CRITIS appeals to the scientific C(I)IP communities at national, European and global level.
Given the focus areas above, the programme committee will select papers per topic category (or track) mentioned below. Therefore, authors need to state which topic category they address. Researchers are solicited to contribute to the conference by submitting research papers, work-in-progress reports, R&D project results, surveying works and industrial experiences describing significant advances in C(I)IP. Stakeholders from governments, Critical Infrastructure operators, and industry are encouraged to submit papers which describe their current and future challenges to be engaged by researchers and multidisciplinary research teams.
Important Dates
Deadline for submission of papers: May 10, 2013
Notification to authors: June 30, 2013
Camera-ready papers: August 16, 2013
The CRITIS 2013 Scientific Committee invites papers for the following four topic categories:
Topic category 1: Resilience of Smart Cities and Smart Mobility
Topic category 2: Requirements for C(I)IP by C(I)I stakeholders
(e.g., Industry, CI operators, government agencies, EU Directorates) and integrated solution directions by CIP/CIIP-related R&D communities and disciplines.

Call For Papers
Recent advances in cloud computing and mobile networks have triggered
interest in a new computing paradigm called mobile cloud computing.
Smart devices and Internet play vital role in deploying a wide variety
of applications using mobile cloud computing. The mobile phones, for
example, are not just an entertaining system any more – as the
technology grows every day, all handhold gadgets are getting smarter
enough to handle time and mission critical applications which are,
indeed, important for human life. On the other side, cloud computing has
made a revolution on the computing world by using the non-traditional
devices and mechanisms for computing purposes. When these two fields
converge, it can be used to address many real-life problems.
Consequently, currently, a variety of applications are being ported on
mobile devices and integrated with the clod infrastructure successfully.
Health applications and systems are gaining huge attention from various
communities and mobile cloud computing helps in meeting the challenges
of pervasive heath care environment. However, the limited capabilities
of mobile devices require the support of cloud services to cater to the
demands of health applications. The emerging mobile cloud computing
technology offers promising solutions to develop health related
applications. This workshop is aimed at addressing issues related to the
development of mobile cloud computing based architectures, deployment
models, application development, and tools and techniques that would
contribute to the development of next generation of health care systems.
