IEEE SECON 2014
IEEE International Conference on Sensing, Communication, and Networking
30 June - 3 July \ Singapore

------------------------------------------------------------------------
IEEE SECON 2014 POSTER/DEMO CALL FOR PAPERS
SCOPE
IEEE SECON 2014 will include poster/demonstration sessions that shall
provide a forum to present and discuss: works in progress, industry
demonstrations of new applications and techniques, practical
implementations, industrial and commercial developments, research
testbeds and demonstrations, recent research/implementation results,
upcoming research challenges, future directions, and novel approaches in
the fields of sensing and communication in wireless networks. One of the
key goals of this conference is to foster collaboration between industry
and academia. Hence, participation of researchers/developers from
industry and posters/demonstrations reporting joint work between
industry and academia are especially encouraged.
Poster submissions should be in the form of a short paper/abstract
describing the main contributions and the merits of the proposed ideas
as well as reporting initial results and the challenges towards a
full-fledged solution of the problem under consideration. Abstracts will
be evaluated mainly based on their potential to stimulate interesting
discussions, exchange of ideas and promote collaborations.
Demonstration submissions will also be on the basis of a short
paper/abstract describing a prototype system and/or an interesting
implementation concept as well as the merits of the proposed ideas. They
should also include the space requirements and/or any other
equipment-specific requirements. Proposals will be evaluated mainly
based on their potential to stimulate interesting discussions, exchange
of ideas and promote collaborations.
Submissions for both posters and demos should not be more than three
pages (strictly based on IEEE conference 2-column template) in length.
The documents must contain the authors' names, affiliations, and contact
information and the designated corresponding author. More detailed paper
formatting instructions can be found
athttp://secon2014.ieee-secon.org/authors <http://
http://www.mmsend10.com/link.cfm?r=248908789&sid=34420071&m=3829832&u=IEEEC…>
Accepted authors of posters/demos will have a space in the poster/demo
session room to display their posters or exhibit their demos, as well as
to describe their work in discussions with interested attendees. In
addition, each poster/demo presenter will have 5 minutes to orally
present their idea at the beginning of the poster/demo session, such
that he/she may get a chance to attract audiences to his/her
poster/demo. Finally, the abstract of the accepted posters/demos will be
submitted to IEEE Xplore. Under the IEEE Communications Society policy
that all accepted IEEE SECON 2014 posters/demos require at least a
one-day registration. For authors co-authoring multiple posters/demos, a
one day registration is valid for up to two presentations.
AWARDS
The IEEE SECON 2014 will also run a best poster and best demo award
competition. Awards will be based on the novelty and the potentials of
the poster/demo to drive further research. The quality of

conference and the authors will be given the opportunity to make a short
presentation of their research during the main conference.
Both poster and demo proposals must be submitted electronically via the
EDAS. Direct links to paper submission is as follows:

22. April 2014,
aber einzelne Workshops können davon abweichen. Bitte prüfen Sie die
einzelnen Call for Papers. Alle Beiträge werden in einem LNI-Band
(http://www.gi.de/service/publikationen/autorenrichtlinien.html)
veröffentlicht.
Wir freuen uns auf Ihren Beitrag und darauf Sie in Stuttgart begrüßen zu
dürfen!

CALL FOR PAPERS
NetSys 2015
2nd International Conference on Networked Systems
http://www.netsys2015.com
Cottbus, Germany, March 9-13, 2015
========================================================================
The Conference on Networked Systems - NetSys 2015 - provides an
international forum for engineers and scientists in academia, industry,
and government to discuss recent innovations in the realm of networked
systems - including aspects of networking, distributed systems,
communications, middleware, and applications. NetSys is a biennial
conference that originates from the major scientific event on networked
systems in German-speaking countries KiVS (Kommunikation in Verteilten
Systemen) - a series of conferences that was founded more than 30 years
ago. In 2013 NetSys was first organized on international scale at
Stuttgart. NetSys is organized by the special interest group
"Communication and Distributed Systems" (KUVS) of the German
Informatics Society (GI). The presented conference papers will be
archived in IEEE Xplore (R) (approval pending).
NetSys solicits submission of high-quality, original scientific papers
presenting novel research on the wide range of networked systems,
including but not limited to:
* Network architectures and protocols
* Transport- and application-layer protocols
* Emerging networked applications
* Peer-to-peer and overlay networks
* Software-defined networking
* SOA, Web services, and mobile services
* Cloud computing
* Virtualization in networked systems
* Social networks
* Internet of Things
* Cyber-physical systems
* Smart grid
* Cyber security and privacy
* Mobile, ad-hoc, opportunistic, vehicular and sensor networks
* Middleware architectures and platforms for networked systems
* Methods for design, implementation, and analysis of networked systems
Separate workshops, tutorials, demonstrator presentations, and a
doctoral forum will complement the technical sessions.
Important dates:
----------------
* Paper Registration: August, 25th, 2014
* Paper Submission: September 1st, 2014
* Author Notification: November 8th, 2014
* Final Manuscript: December 10th, 2014
Submission Guidelines:
----------------------
All submissions must describe original research, not published or
currently under review for another workshop, conference, or journal.
Papers must be submitted electronically in PDF format via the con-
ference website (see http://www.netsys2015.com/calls/call-for-papers/
for further information). Submissions should be restricted to 8
camera-ready pages and must be formatted in IEEE style (10pt font,

CALL FOR PAPERS: Workshop on Physical Analytics @ ACM MobiSys 2014 (June
16, 2014)
Despite the rapid rise in online activity, people lead much of their
lives in the physical world. They travel to places, dwell at various
locations, spend time with other people, shop, go to the gym, watch
movies, and listen to music or are exposed to announcements, all of
which is often based on what interests them. Therefore, there is much to
be learnt about users from their physical actions and activities, which
is often not manifested in their online activity. Such insights can be
of benefit both to users directly and to businesses.
While huge strides have been made in online analytics to extract a
wealth of information from peoples’ online activities, corresponding
work in the physical context — which we term as Physical Analytics — is
relatively nascent and scattered. The goal of the proposed workshop is
to bring together researchers and practitioners to have a conversation
on Physical Analytics, with a view to coalescing a research agenda for
the community. Our intention is keep the scope broad — spanning devices,
algorithms, systems, applications, and policy — yet have the discourse
be focused on physical analytics.
The workshop will include invited talks, a panel, and refereed papers,
with as much time devoted to discussion as to the presentations themselves.
NEW:
Keynote speakers: Dina Katabi (Professor, MIT) and Anmol Madan
(Co-Founder/CEO & Data Scientist, Ginger.io)
The paper submission instructions are now online.
