SCOPE AND OVERVIEW
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IEEE WoWMoM 2017 is soliciting original and previously unpublished
papers addressing research challenges and advances in the areas of
wireless, mobile, and multimedia networking as well as ubiquitous and
pervasive systems.
The evolution of wireless networking technologies and their key role
in future Internet scenarios offer an increasing wealth of
opportunities for distributing multimedia contents over wireless
networks, enabling dissemination of professional contents to mobile
users as well as sharing user-generated contents among them. Users
will be able to retrieve, publish, and manage information, communicate
with other users or devices, access and author services, and create
and exploit context-awareness. Papers that present original work,
validated by experimentation, simulation, or analysis, are solicited.
Practical experiences and experimental efforts from both industry and
academia, duly documenting the lessons learned from testbeds,
field-trials, or real deployments, are also welcome.
Papers are invited which address new and previously unpublished
results in the areas:
- Ad-hoc, sensor, mesh and vehicular wireless networks
- Content-centric architectures for wireless, mobile and multimedia networks
- Context-awareness in wireless, mobile and multimedia networks
- Cognitive communications and networking

SmartMedDev – 3rd International Special Session on Smart Medical Devices
– from Lab to Clinical Practice
February 21 - 23, 2017, Porto, Portugal
http://www.healthinf.biostec.org/SmartMedDev.aspx
In conjunction with: 10th International Conference on Health Informatics
- HEALTHINF 2017
=====================================================================
MISSION:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The goal of this special session is to discuss the problems hindering
the widespread adoption of smart medical devices - software based,
wireless, implantable and wearable. Many brilliant ideas remain at the
level of the proof of concept and never reach the market or the clinical
practice.
We focus on high-safety health monitoring and life saving devices. We
are especially interested in sets of heterogeneous devices aggregated
around a common communication platform (smartphone), based on open
standards. In our opinion, aside of technical problems, the adoption of
such systems is restrained by organizational issues, like incorporating
in therapies applied by hospitals and reimbursed by insurances. This may
need a formal approval and calls for a well-organized quality
monitoring. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the problems, we
would like to gather a balanced group of device developers, system
integrators and clinical practitioners and provide them a convenient
forum for discussion and exchange.
We encourage authors to submit papers to one of the main topics
indicated below, or to open new perspectives and present novel points of
view on this highly dynamic and important research and application
field. Lessons learned from actual implementations of devices and
systems, prospective frameworks, future visions and position papers are
equally invited.

Topics of Interest include, among others:
• Engineering smart sensors / actuators into usable devices
• Integrating smart devices into patient health systems
• Emerging commercial integration platforms
• Integrating patient systems with hospital infrastructure
• mHealth initiatives
• Emerging mHealth data broker platforms
• Interoperability on all levels
• Coping with heterogeneity
• Coping with variability
• Low power cryptography
• Roaming
• Patient in the loop
• Integrated medical systems as Cyber Physical Systems
• Regulatory and legal issues
• Continuous quality assessment
• Challenges for statistical analysis
• Managing data
• Security and privacy
• Blending mentalities and skills
• Applications of Computational Intelligence / Soft Computing /
Artificial Intelligence methods to:
o medical system modelling
o adaptivity and autonomicity issues for sets of medical devices
o knowledge discovery and pattern recognition from medical data
o any of the above topics
PAPER SUBMISSION:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Authors are invited to submit full papers in any of the topics listed
above written in English, with around 8 to 10 pages, with the
appropriate font size and page format, including references, tables,
graphs, images and appendices. Submissions with less than 4 pages or
more than 13 pages will be automatically rejected. Submissions should
contain original material and not be previously published, or currently
submitted for consideration elsewhere. All papers will be reviewed for
scientific quality by the Technical Program Committee. Paper submission
implies the willingness of at least one author to register and present
the paper. Instructions for preparing the manuscript (in Word and Latex
formats) are available at: http://www.healthinf.biostec.org/Templates.aspx
Please also check the http://www.healthinf.biostec.org/Guidelines.aspx.
Papers should be submitted electronically via the web-based submission
system at: http://www.insticc.org/Primoris

Eighth International Conference on Future Energy Systems (ACM e-Energy)
Hong Kong , May 16-19, 2017
http://conferences.sigcomm.org/eenergy/2017/
Computing and communication technologies impact energy systems in two
distinct ways. The exponential growth of these technologies has made
them large energy consumers. Therefore, new architectures, technologies
and systems are being developed and deployed to make computing and
networked system more energy efficient. Additionally, these technologies
will play a central role in the on-going transformation of our energy
systems. They help measure, monitor and control energy resources, inform
and shape human demand, and determine how utilities, generators,
regulators, and consumers interact.
The Eighth International Conference on Future Energy Systems (ACM
e-Energy), to be held in Hong Kong from the 16th to the 19th of May
2017, is the premier venue for researchers working in the broad areas of
smart energy systems, and in energy-efficient computing and
communications. By bringing together researchers in a single-track
conference designed to offer significant opportunities for individual
interaction, it is a major forum to shape the future of this area.
We seek high-quality papers on smart energy systems and
energy-efficient computing and communications. We welcome submissions
describing conceptual advances as well as system design, implementation

Energy Harvesting and Scavenging: Technologies, Algorithms, and
Communication Protocols
Submission Deadline: Nov 30, 2016
This CFP can be seen at the website of IEEE Access at
http://www.ieee.org/publications_standards/publications/ieee_access/ssa_ene…
IEEE Access invites manuscript submissions in the area of Energy
Harvesting and Scavenging: Technologies, Algorithms, and Communication
Protocols.
The operation of modern electronic communication devices rely on
constant energy sources such as DC power obtained from AC sources via AC
to DC conversion or small chargeable/replaceable batteries. However, in
some cases, providing constant energy source is not feasible. Due to the
advancement in technology, energy harvesting technologies can be
exploited to power-up the modern day electronic communication devices.
These energy harvesting technologies rely on energy sources naturally
present in the environment, such as solar energy, wind energy, and heat
energy. Moreover, energy can also be acquired from the human body from
movement of different parts of the body such as walking, heartbeat,
movement of arms, just to name a few. All these energy harvesting
technologies and techniques may satisfy the need of energy for low power
communication devices and may enable the charging of electronic mobile
devices anywhere and at any time.
In this Special Section, we focus on the most recent advances in the
interdisciplinary research areas encompassing the Energy Harvesting
