Network Security and Privacy Network security protocols, trust and privacy, anomaly and malware detection, denial-of-service (DoS) detection and mitigation, network forensics, authentication, applications of privacy-preserving computation in networks, anonymization. Wireless Networking Ad-hoc and mesh networks, mobile networks, self-organizing networks, sensor networks, cyber-physical systems, Internet of Things (IoT), delay/disruption tolerant networks, opportunistic networks, disaster-recovery networks, device-to-device communication. Submission Guidelines The technical program committee welcomes paper submissions on all topics related to computer and communication networks. All submitted papers will be judged based on their quality and relevance through single-blind peer review. Only original papers that have not been published or submitted for review elsewhere will be considered. Submitted papers should be written in the English language, with a maximum length limit of 9 printed pages, including all the figures, references, and appendices. Papers longer than 9 pages will not be reviewed. All papers must be submitted in the Portable Document Format (PDF) electronically using EDAS. When submitting the paper, the title, all co-authors, and a concise abstract of up to 200 words should be provided to EDAS as the metadata of the paper. The metadata should be provided before the abstract registration deadline. An author of an accepted paper is required to register for the conference at the full (member or non-member) rate and the paper must be presented by an author of that paper at the conference unless the TPC co-chairs grant permission for a substitute presenter before the conference. Non-refundable registration fees must be paid prior to uploading the final correctly formatted, publication-ready version of the paper. Accepted and presented papers will be published in the IFIP Digital Library and submitted to IEEE Xplore. To ensure appropriate consideration of conflicts of interest during the review process, changes to the list of authors are prohibited once a paper has been submitted for review. Should a paper be accepted, the complete list of authors, including the ordering of authors, must remain identical as the EDAS metadata in the final camera-ready manuscript. In addition to full research papers, EWSN solicits submissions of poster and demo abstracts. The poster session at EWSN will provide a forum for researchers to present their work in progress and to receive early feedback from leading experts attending the conference. In parallel to the poster session, the demo session will offer a unique opportunity to showcase real prototypes, tools, and systems to the conference attendees. The areas of interest for both poster and demo abstracts are the same as for full research papers. Each submission will be reviewed by at least three members of the Posters & Demos Committee based on its quality and potential to stimulate lively discussions during the conference. Accepted poster and demo abstracts will be included in the conference proceedings, which will be available in the ACM Digital Library. Submission: We adopt a single-blind review process for poster and demo abstracts, so please do not anonymize your submission and include name, affiliation, and contact information of all authors on the first page. Please also provide a short abstract before the main body of your paper. Submissions that do not meet the formatting requirements as given below may not be reviewed. Poster and demo abstracts must be submitted as a single PDF containing no more than 2 pages, including figures, tables, and references. Pages must have 8.5" x 11" (letter) two-column format, using 10-point font on 11-point leading, with a maximum text block of 7" wide x 9" deep with an inter-column spacing of .25". Titles should start with "Poster: ..." or "Demo: ..." depending on the type of abstract. Authors may use the LaTeX template available at http://www.ewsn2017.org/ under Calls and Submission -> Posters & Demos. On the same webpage, you find a link where you can submit your poster or demo abstract. As we particularly welcome contributions from students, the submission system offers an option to explicitly signal whether the main author is a student. Moreover, authors may optionally complement their submission with a link to a video of at most 2 minutes that further illustrates the work. Videos showing the demonstration are particularly welcome. If the abstract is accepted, the video will be linked directly from the EWSN website. Presentation at the Conference: In addition to an easel and space provided to every accepted abstract during the poster and demo session, one author of each accepted abstract will be given a 1-minute slot in a "madness session” within the main conference program. In this session, authors will have the opportunity to present their work to the entire conference audience, using a single slide and a 1-minute speech. The best poster and demo will receive an award. The THEME --------------- Energy Informatics is emerging as a new and interdisciplinary research field. The main goal is to tackle the future global warming, energy crisis, and climate change challenges by exploiting advanced ICT theories and tools to address energy related problems. The scope of Energy Informatics includes the next generation communications, networking, computing, sensing and control technologies (e.g., big data, machine learning, 5G, cloud computing, fog computing); and their applications in the energy sectors (e.g., smart cities, smart grid, electric vehicles, and PV systems). In the past decade, we have witnessed a rapid development and application of advanced informatics technologies (information, communications, and networking technologies) to realize sustainable smart cities, covering many successful examples such as green buildings, smart homes, distributed microgrid systems, and green transportation systems. When equipped with advanced ICT technologies, buildings and hom! es are able to significantly improve energy efficiency, reliability, and security in grid operations, while satisfying users’ comfort, and thus benefitting all stakeholders, namely energy consumers, utility companies, and energy generators. Moreover, distributed microgrid systems facilitate the deep integration of renewable energy and promote an efficient, secure, and economic exploitation of renewable energy resources. The rapid development of informatics technologies also leads to the success of green transportation systems, driving an exponential growth in using electric vehicles. A variety of recent advanced informatics technologies play important and indispensable roles in green transportation systems, and enable the joint management of energy flows, information flows, as well as transportation flows. TOPICS --------------- This special section solicits high quality and unpublished work on recent advances in energy informatics for green cities.
