IEEE MASS 2016 is a three-track conference sponsored by the IEEE Computer Society. According to the vision underlying the IoT, the next step in increasing the ubiquity of the Internet, after connecting people anytime and everywhere, is to connect inanimate objects. By providing objects with embedded communication capabilities and a common addressing scheme, a highly distributed and ubiquitous network of seamlessly connected heterogeneous devices is formed, which can be fully integrated into the current Internet and mobile networks, thus allowing for the development of new intelligent services available anytime, anywhere, by anyone and anything. Such a vision is also becoming known under the name of Machine-to-Machine (M2M), where the absence of human interaction in the system dynamics is further emphasized. Many applications with high social and business impact fall under the IoT/M2M umbrella, including personal healthcare, smart grid, surveillance, home automation, intelligent transportation, while it is expected that new ones will emerge once the enabling technologies reach a stable state. At the moment, three of the most important challenges are: (1) Architectures, protocols and algorithms for an efficient interconnection of smart objects, both between themselves and with the (future) Internet. (2) The creation of value-added services in cross-domain applications, especially open and interoperable, enabled by the interconnection of things / machines / smart objects, in such a way that they can be integrated with current and new business and development processes. (3). Security, privacy and trust in the IoT applications, for ensuring that the provided services will protect the users’ data, provide guarantees that no malicious users/devices will affect the system decisions and that the IoT applications will be secure and privacy-preserving “by design”. The aim of this workshop is to bring together practitioners and researchers from both academia and industry in order to have a forum for discussion and technical presentations on the recent advances in theory, application and implementation of the Internet of Things concept: Technologies, protocols, algorithms, and services. The number of mobile applications such as Apple Siri, Google Now, and Yelp is rapidly growing, and mobile connectivity is used for everything from Google Glass to vehicle fleet tracking. These applications and services have rapidly enriched our lives, particularly because much of the mobile ecosystem is vibrant and conducive to open innovation. An important part of this ecosystem is the underlying connectivity provided by cellular networks. While innovations in mobile applications have thrived, innovations in the underlying cellular systems are more limited. This is partially caused by the closed and monolithic nature of these networks, where the core design and operational challenges are typically not accessible to the broader research community. Specifically, research in mobile cellular networks has been hampered by the fact that academic researchers typically do not have access to radios, mobile protocol stacks, management tools, and realistic cellular network traces. As a result, until recently most wireless networking research was limited to Wi-Fi. The emergence of cellular mobile test networks is slowly changing this state of affairs and there is widespread optimism in the research community that we are at a tipping point where the interest of the research community will align with commercial and regulatory interests to foster innovation in cellular networks. As mobile cellular networks becoming more software based and flexible to enable technology innovation towards next generation mobile networks, it also paves the way for a wider research community to focus on cellular networks. To continue to nurture this scene change, this workshop aims to bring together mobile network operators, equipment vendors, regulators and industrial/academic researchers to discuss emerging problems, challenges, and potential solutions in this domain. To facilitate this discussion and engage stakeholders, we are soliciting technical papers, including position papers, that are no more than 6-pages long in the standard ACM two-column, 10 point format. Early work that stimulates discussions is also strongly encouraged. Accepted papers will be published in the ACM Digital Library. Publication at the All Things Cellular workshop does not preclude later publication. Intelligent Vehicles: As vehicles are equipped with more sensing and computing capabilities, vehicles become more intelligent and are able to accomplish a number of challenging tasks including autonomous driving. We are currently witnessing the pursuit of high-performing, reliable, scalable, secure, and privacy-preserving connected and automated vehicle technologies, as well as associated mobility services. These ongoing innovations present an extraordinary challenge for the research community. The safety, real-time and security needs of vehicular systems and their application scenarios make the study of these systems both exciting and challenging. Goal-driven inter-disciplinary collaboration among the automotive industry and academic research community is increasingly seen as necessary. Furthermore, the connected and intelligent vehicle research field has been a very active field of research, development, standardization, and field trials. Throughout the world, there are many national and international projects in government, industry, and academia devoted to connected vehicles or autonomous driving vehicles. Many relevant industry standards and consortia are being created to prepare for the maturity of these emerging technologies. CarSys 2016 brings together researchers from these initiatives around the world to chart the way forward in this rapidly evolving field. IMPORTANT DATES: Abstract submission: March 21, 2016 (EXTENDED) Paper submission: March 21, 2016 (EXTENDED) Notification to authors: April 25, 2016 Poster and demo proposal submission: May 4, 2016 Notification to poster/demo presenters: May 10, 2016 Camera-ready version: May 20, 2016 CONFERENCE SCOPE: ACM WiSec is the leading ACM and SIGSAC conference dedicated to all aspects of security and privacy in wireless and mobile and mobile networks and their applications. In addition to the traditional ACM WiSec topics of physical, link, and network layer security, we welcome papers focusing on the security and privacy of mobile software platforms, usable security and privacy, biometrics, cryptography, and the increasingly diverse range of mobile or wireless applications such as Internet of Things, and Cyber- Physical Systems. The conference welcomes both theoretical as well as systems contributions. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: * Security & privacy for smart devices (e.g., smartphones) * Wireless and mobile privacy and anonymity * Secure localization and location privacy * Cellular network fraud and security * Jamming attacks and defenses * Key management (agreement or distribution) for wireless or mobile systems * Information-theoretic security schemes for wireless systems * Theoretical and formal approaches for wireless and mobile security * Cryptographic primitives for wireless and mobile security * NFC and smart payment applications * Security and privacy for mobile sensing systems * Wireless or mobile security for emerging applications (e.g, privacy in health, automotive, avionics, smart grid, or IoT applications) * Physical tracking security and privacy * Usable mobile security and privacy * Economics of mobile security and privacy * Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) security * Mobile malware and platform security * Security for cognitive radio and dynamic spectrum access systems * Security protocols for wireless networking The proceedings of ACM WiSec, sponsored by SIGSAC, will be published by the ACM. FULL AND SHORT PAPERS: Full paper submissions to ACM WiSec 2016 can be up to 10 pages in the ACM conference style excluding the bibliography and well marked appendices, and up to 12 pages in total. ACM WiSec also encourages the submission of short papers with a length of up to 6 pages, which describe mature work of a more succinct nature. All papers must be thoroughly anonymized for double-blind reviewing. Detailed submission instructions will appear on the conference website.
