IEEE LCN 2018 will feature a demo session with the aim of providing
demonstrations that validate important research issues and/or show
innovative prototypes. Authors are invited to submit technical
demonstrations showing innovative and original research. Proposals (no more
than 3 pages) should be submitted via EDAS to the *LCN Demo Track*
<https://edas.info/newPaper.php?c=24453&track=89310>, and should describe
the scope, significance and required equipment. IEEE LCN is a premier
conference on theoretical and practical aspects of computer networking. The
proposal should include one page that describes what conference
participants will be able to see or experience during the demonstration.
The authors are encouraged to highlight the research component of the demo
and explicitly mention the novelty of the showcased technology/solution.
In general, IEEE LCN is looking for demonstrations in all topics covered by
the main conference in addition to all the workshops held in conjunction

*Submission Deadline:*1 October 2018
*Paper submission*: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/ieee-access
IEEE/Access/ invites manuscript submissions in the area of Towards
Service Centric Internet of Things (IoT): From Modelling to Practice
http://ieeeaccess.ieee.org/special-sections/towards-service-centric-interne…
The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to an emerging paradigm, to
seamlessly and ubiquitously integrate a large number of smart things
with intra/inter links to the physical and cyber worlds. The sensor
enabled communication technologies are connecting billions of things, by
efficiently utilizing their locations in the real world. It has brought
active participation and tangible creation of benefits to the economy
and ultimately the society. As the so called smart things are extremely
diverse and heterogeneous in terms of computing and communication
technology and resource capability, there is no stand-alone solution
towards realisation of service centric provisioning in IoT. The service
domain in IoT environments is also divers including energy efficiency,
computing capability, coordination time, resource harvesting capacity,
dimension of things, etc. The growing diversity enforces the necessity
to address the most significant issue of technological complexity, for
practical enhancement and evaluation of quality of service (QoS) and
quality of experience (QoE) for service-oriented use cases in IoT
environments.
The literature has vastly contributed towards architecture design for
cooperative communication, computing and application centric
development. However, the efforts towards realistic modelling and
evaluation of QoS and QoE in IoT environments have not witnessed enough
attentions in academia and industrial research labs. Although the
realistic implementations of IoT environments have been realized in
various domains including product engineering, marketing, health,
sports, and security yet, the scalability of these implementations is
not guaranteed due to the lack of QoS and QoE evaluation in IoT
environments. The R&D towards service centric technologies in IoT
environments will support the mass realization of realistic IoT
implementations resulting in effective economic and social benefit.
Driven by the enhancement of QoS and QoE for diverse use cases in IoT,
new technologies are keen to the rise of spanning different service
centric aspects in IoT environments.
The aim of this special issue is to provide opportunities for
researchers and practitioners to publish their latest and innovative
contributions with new methodologies and modelling techniques towards
service centric IoT framework. Theoretical investigation and prototype
implementation based studies are particularly welcomed, as IEEE Access
journal attracts practical articles discussing new experiments or
measurement techniques, interesting solutions to engineering, including
negative results. The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Standardization progresses in service centric IoT
- Business model driven network services management in service
centric IoT
- Resource management and scheduling for service centric IoT
- Energy and resource efficiency in service centric IoT
- Location accuracy enhancements for service centric IoT
- Cloud and edge computing for massive service centric IoT
applications
- New waveforms and frame structures for massive IoT connection
- High-reliability-low-latency tactile communications for IoT
- Coverage extension with resource constrained sensors
- Enhancing privacy, security and trust for service centric IoT
We also highly recommend the submission of multimedia with each article
as it significantly increases the visibility, downloads, and citations
of articles.

**** EWSN 2019 ****
Beijing, China
February 25-27, 2019
http://ewsn2019.thss.tsinghua.edu.cn
The International Conference on Embedded Wireless Systems and Networks
(EWSN) is a highly selective single-track international conference
focusing on the latest research results on embedded systems and wireless
networking, key enablers for visionary scenarios such as the Internet of
Things and Cyber-Physical Systems. Building on 15 years of successful
EWSN conferences, the 16th edition marks a significant change: for the
first time, EWSN will go outside Europe, and be held in Beijing, China.
The conference aims at a broader impact world-wide, while maintaining
its role as a premier conference originated from Europe.
The conference solicits both full technical papers and short papers
describing validated early ideas. Specific topics of interest include
but are not limited to:
-- Communication and networking for wireless and embedded systems
-- Sensing, actuation, and control
-- Operating systems, middleware, and services
-- Processing, storage, and management of data
-- Programming paradigms, languages, and tools
-- Emerging computing platforms, e.g., drones and robots
-- Time and location management
-- Dependability (real-time, reliability, availability, safety)
-- Sustainability (low-power operation, energy management, energy
harvesting)
-- Privacy and security in applications and systems
-- Human-machine interaction with wireless and embedded systems
-- Design and implementation of real-world applications and systems
-- Measurement studies and deployment experiences
Contributions that reflect emerging technologies and applications
related to industrial IoT are particularly welcome.
The conference proceedings will appear in the ACM Digital Library.
Selected accepted papers will be fast-tracked to ACM Transactions on
Sensor Networks (TOSN) or ACM Transactions on the Internet of Things (TIOT).
Submission Instructions
Submissions to EWSN 2019 must be original (i.e., not previously
published) and not currently under review by any other conference or
journal. EWSN 2019 will adopt a double-blind review process. Authors
must make a good faith effort to anonymize their submissions to ensure
that author identities are not disclosed to reviewers. We will also
offer authors a rebuttal phase before final decisions are made.
Formatting requirements. Full paper submissions must have at most 12
pages. Short paper submissions must have at most 6 pages. Pages must
have 8.5" x 11" (letter) two-column format, using 10-point type on
11-point leading, with a maximum text block of 7" wide x 9" deep with an
inter-column spacing of .25". The page limits include figures, tables,
and references. Authors may use the LaTex templates provided here.

Call for Poster/Demo: The ACM Conference on Embedded Networked Sensor
Systems (SenSys 2018)
**** ACM SenSys 2018 ****
Shenzhen, China
November 4-7, 2018
http://sensys.acm.org/2018/
Dear Colleagues,
SenSys 2018 solicits submissions of poster and demo abstracts reflecting
on-going research progress and/or demonstrating working prototypes. We
welcome submissions in broadly defined areas of interests (but not limited
to): systems of smart sensors and actuators, brand-new applications of
sensory devices, smart things, and smart infrastructure, and the underlying
research challenges in communication, networking, energy and resources,
data management, algorithms and machine intelligence, hardware designs, and
deployment on real environments.
Student participants will greatly benefit from the Posters and Demos
session; it will be a lively forum to present their work and receive early
feedback from international leading experts attending the conference. We
explicitly encourage submissions of revolutionary concepts, path-breaking
ideas, and ongoing research prototypes.
Major IT industry, as well as emerging technology startups, are also highly
encouraged to participate. SenSys is an ideal venue to present brand-new
products, early prototypes, new development platforms, or even ongoing
crowdfunding projects of smart platforms and solutions that might catalyze
future applications and/or disrupt today’s sensing and networking
technologies.
Submitted abstracts will be evaluated based on technical merit and
innovation as well as their potential to stimulate interesting discussions
and exchange of ideas. Authors of accepted abstracts will be given a
one-minute slot in a “madness session” during the conference to present
their work in front of the conference audience. As with previous editions
of SenSys, the best poster and demo will receive an award.
All abstracts shall be formatted according to the main conference paper
layout. Accepted abstracts will appear in the conference proceedings and
the ACM Digital Library.
**** Submission Instructions ****
-- Posters and Demos must be submitted as a single PDF containing *no more
than 2 pages*. The submission should be self-contained ready for
publication, including the title, authors, institutional affiliations and
contact information, abstract, main body, and references. Please *DO NOT
anonymize* your submission. Upon acceptance, instructions for the final
camera-ready abstract will be provided.
-- You may include links to additional online material such as videos.
Links to videos showing the demonstration are especially encouraged. Videos
of accepted posters/demos will be linked from the SenSys web pages and
permanently included in the ACM Digital Library.
-- To submit a demo abstract, please add *"Demo Abstract:"* at the
beginning of the manuscript's title.
