ACM SenSys 2020 - The ACM Conference on Embedded Networked Sensor Systems
November 16-19, 2020 in Yokohama, Japan
http://sensys.acm.org/2020/
The ACM Conference on Embedded Networked Sensor Systems (SenSys 2020) is
the premier computer systems conference focused on the architecture,
design, implementation, and performance of networked sensing systems,
sensor-oriented data modeling and analytics, and sensor-enabled
applications. ACM SenSys brings together academic, industry, and
government professionals to a single-track, highly selective forum that
takes a broad view on the areas of computing relevant to the future of
networked embedded sensor systems.
Topics of interests include, but are not limited to, the following:
• New platforms and hardware designs for networked sensor systems
• New communication paradigms for ubiquitous connectivity
• Low-power wireless media access control, network, and transport
protocol designs
• Systems software, including operating systems, network stacks, and
programming
• System services such as time and location estimation
• Low-power operation, energy harvesting, and energy management
• Resource-efficient machine learning for embedded and mobile platforms
• Mobile and pervasive systems with elements of networked sensing
• Data management and analytics, including quality, integrity, and
trustworthiness
• Learning algorithms and models for perception, understanding, and
adaptation
• Heterogeneous collaborative sensing, including human-robot sensor systems
• Security and privacy in networked sensor applications and systems
• Fault-tolerance, dependability, and verification
• Applications and deployment experiences
We invite technical papers describing original ideas, groundbreaking
results, and real-world experiences involving innovative networked
embedded sensor systems. Successful submissions will explain why the
topic is relevant to a vision of the future of sensing systems.
Submissions will be judged on originality, significance, clarity,
relevance, and correctness.
Important Dates
• Paper Registration and Abstract: March 27 (Friday), 2020, 23:59 AoE
• Paper Submission: April 6 (Monday), 2020, 23:59 AoE
• Notification of Paper Acceptance: July 20 (Saturday), 2020
Note: These are hard deadlines. No extension will be granted.
Submission Guidelines
Submitted papers must be unpublished and must not be currently under
review for any other publication. Submissions must be full papers, at
most 12 single-spaced 8.5" x 11" pages with 9-pt font size in two-column
format, including figures and tables. As for references, submissions may
include as many pages as needed. All submissions must use the LaTeX
(preferred) or Word styles found here. LaTeX submissions should use the
acmart.cls template (sigconf option), with the default 9-pt font. This
format will be used also for the camera-ready version of accepted
papers. Authors must make a good faith effort to anonymize their
submissions. Papers that do not meet the size, formatting, and
anonymization requirements will not be reviewed. We require each paper
to be in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) and submitted through the
conference submission system.
Papers that describe experiments on human subjects, or that analyze
nonpublic data derived from human subjects (even anonymized data),
should briefly describe how the research protocol addresses ethical
considerations and whether their work was vetted by an ethics review
(e.g., IRB approval). We expect authors to follow the rules of their
host institutions around data collection and experiments with human
subjects.
Accepted submissions will be available on the ACM digital library at
most two weeks before the conference.

Dear all,
We are all witnessing unprecedented circumstances world-wide due to the
spread of COVID-19 virus. Some of the preventative measures like travel
restrictions, quarantines and university and lab closures in some areas
have also potentially affected the work going on in our community.
Several of you have asked us to consider postponing the deadline due to
the these extraordinary circumstances. We fully sympathize with these
requests. We would hate to see this causing anyone to miss the deadline,
with all the hard work that has gone into it.
After a careful deliberation and a discussion with the steering
committee, we have decided to postpone the Mobicom 2020 winter deadline
by 2 weeks. We hope this can help. We understand that this may not be
enough for some of us, but this is the most we can postpone while still
being able to prepare a high-quality program in time for the conference.
But most importantly, please stay safe and follow the appropriate health
advices! Keep in mind that Mobicom now has two submissions a year, and
we publish accepted papers online twice a year. So even if this
extension doesn’t help, we will do our best to get your work
acknowledged in a timely fashion.
Your sincerely,

In the last few years, Unmanned Autonomous Vehicles (UAVs), have developed
rapidly and have been used for emergent applications that range from
inspection, surveillance, agriculture, cargo delivery, and communications.
The symbiosis between UAVs and Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) started
quite naturally: UAVs perform remote sensing, act as data-mule that carry
the data collected by the WSN. Evolving WSN in Internet of Things (IoT)
devices, single or multiple Drones/UAVs can cooperatively provide services
that require efficient protocols where multiple objectives and constraints
should be accounted.
For this workshop, we search for papers that combine design of algorithms,
optimization, and test-bed to develop the theoretical foundations for the
UAV systems operating in symbiosis with WSN in IoT applications. The
numerous emergent applications nurtured by IoT may require an
interdisciplinary approach, involving techniques from algorithm foundations
and different areas, such as robotics, artificial intelligence,
mathematical modeling, machine learning. Possible topics are:
Autonomous WSN via Drones
Topology monitoring of WSN with Drones
Build Remote Sensing Networks via Drones
Communication architectures and protocols of Drones over IoT
Modeling and analysis of Drone systems over IoT
Precision Agriculture
Monitoring crops
Controlling bugs in Agriculture
Drones for environment monitoring
Autopilot and UAS autonomy
UAV mission planning, path planning, and scheduling
Parcel delivery using Drones
4G-5G networks and UAVs
Constraints and multiobjective optimization problems in UAVs
Ground Localization with Drones
Cooperative control of multiple UAVs
UAV secure communication techniques
Optimal UAV deployment strategies
Experimental results, simulators and test beds for drone networks
Single UAV Applications
Multi-UAV Applications
Human Rights and Drones

Energy supply to mobile devices has always been a crucial issue faced by
the development of wireless communication technologies. Recently,
wireless power transfer (WPT) enables transfer of electrical energy from
a power source to an electrical load without interconnecting wires,
which gains increasingly popularity in many applications, such as home
appliances, medical implants, consumer electronics, and space robots.
With WPT technologies, wireless devices are able to harvest energy from
dedicated wireless transmitters to support their operation and
information transmission. Thus, It is also a new promising solution to
extend the lifetime of energy-constrained wireless networks and has been
regarded as a key enabling technology for truly perpetual communications
(e.g., RFID, body area networks, wireless sensor networks,
Machine-to-Machine communications, the Internet of things).
This workshop is expected to bring together academic and industrial
researchers in an effort to discuss the major technical challenges and
contribute recent state-of-art technologies related to the computing
technologies in wireless power and communication networks (WPCNs). And
we also attempts to investigate the advanced scheduling methods for
WPCNs. Topics of interest include but are not limited to the following:
The workshop welcomes submissions that cover, but are not limited to,
the following topics:
Simultaneous wireless information and power transfer
The associated network protocol design in WPCNs
Spectrum sensing, sharing, interference exploitation and management in WPCNs
Physical layer security of WPCNs
Waveform design in WPCNs
WPT systems for special applications

IEEE ICNP 2020 Call for Papers
ICNP, the IEEE International Conference on Network Protocols, is a
premier conference covering all aspects of network protocol research,
including design, analysis, specification, verification,
implementation, and performance. ICNP’20 (https://icnp20.cs.ucr.edu)
will be held in Madrid, Spain, from October 13 to October 16, 2020.
Important Dates
Abstract registration May 19, 2020 (11:59 p.m. EDT)
Full paper submission May 26, 2020 (11:59 a.m. EDT, i.e., Noon)
Notification of acceptance July 25, 2020
Camera ready version August 24, 2020
Scope
The conference is soliciting the submission of papers with significant
research contributions to the field of network protocol research. Both
experimental results as well as formal investigations are equally
welcome. Topics traditionally of interest include, but are not limited
to:
• All aspects of network protocol research including design,
specification, verification, implementation, measurement, testing, and
analysis.
• Protocols for wireless networks, cellular networks, software-defined
networks, data center networks, social networks, peer-to-peer
networks, sensor networks, vehicular networks, and Internet of Things.
• Domain-specific solutions, including protocols for network security,
routing, user privacy, and network management.
• Contributions to network architecture, e.g., specific algorithms and
protocols for network virtualization or future Internet architectures.
• Contributions to other areas of data communications to the extent
that they articulate a strong connection to protocols, for example by
discussing potential implications on the design or performance of
certain types of protocols.
Out-of-Scope
The "other areas of data communications" in the last bullet above
should not be interpreted as a "catch-all" category. ICNP’s focus is
on networks and their protocols, and while this encompasses a broad
range of topics including aspects of design, analysis, measurement,
architecture, etc., papers need to articulate some relevance to
networking and protocols. Those that do not will be returned as
out-of-scope. If you are in doubt as to whether your paper is a fit
for ICNP, please reach out to the Program co-Chairs.
Formatting
Papers should adhere to the IEEE Conference formatting requirements
using the templates available here, and should not exceed 10 pages
excluding references. Your goal as an author is to produce a readable
submission that complies with the formatting constraints. Violating
the formatting requirements to squeeze in additional material will
result in your submission being returned without being reviewed.
Plagiarism and Submission Policy
Papers must present original contributions and can neither be
previously published nor under review by another conference or
journal. Papers containing plagiarized material will be subject to the
IEEE plagiarism policy and possible penalties, and will be rejected
without review.
Submissions and Anonymity
Papers submitted to the conference will be reviewed through a
double-blind review process, where the identities of the authors are
withheld from the reviewers (and that of the reviewers from the
authors). Achieving this goal requires some care to, on the one hand,
preserve the anonymity of your submission, while on the other hand
ensuring proper coverage of related past work, including your own.
While this may seem challenging, the few basic steps listed below will
go a long way towards achieving the desired outcome:
• Remove all authors' identifiers, e.g., names, emails, and
affiliations, from the title page.
• Remove acknowledgments to and identifiers of funding sources.
• Use anonymous names for your files, as source file names are often
embedded in the final output you generate, and therefore accessible as
comments.
• When referring to your own related work, refer to it in the third
person as you would with any other related work by another author.
Besides anonymizing your submission, double-blind reviewing also
imposes additional requirements on both authors and reviewers.
Specifically, while it is permissible for authors to give local talks
on their work and release their paper on a non-peer-reviewed location,
e.g., and institutional repository or even arXiv, care should be
exercised to limit public exposure as much as possible. This includes
refraining from advertising the work on mailing lists and public
forums, and in general limiting as much as possible the odds that
program committee members be exposed to the work and the authors’
identity. Conversely, program committee members will be advised to
neither actively seek to “reverse engineer” the authors’ identity, nor
to directly share with other program committee members any such
information they may have acquired. All questions regarding possible
breaches of the anonymity covenant that underlies the double-blind
review process will be adjudicated by the Program co-Chairs.
Best Paper Award and Fast-Track Journal Publication
One of the accepted papers will be selected for a best paper award. Up
to two of the best papers from ICNP may be fast tracked in the
IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking, with a streamlined journal review
process.
Presentation and Registration Requirements
It is IMPERATIVE that at least one of the authors of any accepted
paper register for the conference at the full rate and be available to
present the paper at the conference. Failure to comply with this
policy will result in the paper’s withdrawal from the conference
proceedings and IEEE Xplore. Exceptions to this policy will only be
granted for truly mitigating circumstances and must be approved by the
Program co-Chairs before the beginning of the conference.

-------- Weitergeleitete Nachricht --------
Betreff: Call for Papers: Workshop on Tools and Concepts for
Communication and Networked Systems (TCoNS)
Datum: Mon, 2 Mar 2020 10:22:34 +0100
Von: Frank Engelhardt <fengelha(a)ovgu.de>
Workshop on Tools and Concepts for Communication and Networked
Systems (TCoNS)
*Or: How to build resilient IoT Systems?*
Co-located with the 50. GI-Jahrestagung INFORMATIK2020,
September 29 - October 01 2020, Kongresszentrum Karlsruhe
http://comsys.ovgu.de/TCoNS
The Internet of Things (IoT) and related future networking concepts
promise the ubiquitous availability of data. Applications can aggregate
and evaluate relevant sets of data, and they can provide highly
flexible, context-aware services, which can interact with each other and
form a new type of emergent behavior.
The workshop addresses current research related to the implementation
and realization of future IoT applications and systems. Particular focus
is put on concepts, tools, and the toolchain, that is required for this
endavor. Furthermore, flexible right management, capability and
performance profiles, and request evaluation for dynamically composed
IoT settings will be targeted. We want to discuss how to realize
abstract representations of these aspects in order to automatically
react on adapted requests, changed network configurations, or system states.
Topics
* Networking concepts for IoT (B5G / 6G Upper Layer Concepts)
* Operating systems / Runtime environments / Virtual machine concepts
* Service description / Support for service migration in IoT
* Online verification and validation for resilience and secure services
* Organic computing for resilient IoT
* Code adaptation in IoT applications
* DevOps, tools, and toolchains for IoT system development
