++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Dear Colleagues,
Hope you are well and healthy. The submission deadline of IEEE iThings
2020 has been extended till 15th July 2020 as we understand many are
facing unexpected challenges at this time.
-----------------------
INTRODUCTION
-----------------------
As an emerged promising networking model, the Internet-of-Things (IoT)
is a novel paradigm to interconnect a multitude of heterogeneous
physical objects and devices. The IoT significantly provides an umbrella
for a series of critical building technologies including wireless sensor
networks (WSNs), fifth generation (5G) networks, and RFID. The
philosophy of the IoT is to develop an intelligent, dynamic,
large-scale, and coherent network framework for a wide range of
applications and industries. Due to its potential advantages and merits
such as high reliability, good scalability and intelligent capacity, the
IoT has attracted great attentions and interests from both academia and
industry.
As the earliest IEEE international conference on Internet of Things, the
2020 IEEE International Conference on Internet of Things (iThings-2020)
will provide a high-profile, leading-edge forum for researchers,
engineers, and practitioners from both academic and industrial
communities to present state-of-the-art advances and innovations in
theories, systems, infrastructure, tools, testbeds, technologies and
applications for the IoT, as well as to identify emerging research
topics and define the future of everything interconnect via cyberspace.

The 12th International Conference on Ad Hoc Networks (ADHOCNETS 2020)
November 17-18, 2020 (will be held virtually)
https://adhocnets.org/<https://nam05.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fadhocnets…>
Paper submission deadline: July 06, 2020 (extended)
EAI is actively monitoring the COVID-19 situation to ensure the safety,
comfort and quality of experience for attendees and a successful course
of the event. EAI is committed to holding the conference in 2020 and
Accepted Authors who are unable to attend the event in person will be
given an option to present their submission online. In case the
situation prevents the event from taking place in its original location,
it will be held fully in an interactive, live online setting.
Scope:
The annual International Conference on Ad Hoc Networks (AdHocNets)
focuses on ad hoc networking technologies and their applications. An ad
hoc network is a wireless system, in which mobile or static nodes are
connected using wireless links and cooperate to self-organize into a
network without the requirement for any infrastructure such as access
points or base stations. In recent years, ad hoc networks have been
attracting increased attention from the research and engineering
communities.
The distributed and multi-hop nature of ad hoc networking as well as the
highly dynamic topology of an ad hoc network due to node mobility has
introduced many formidable challenges such as scalability, quality of
service, reliability and security, and energy-constrained operations for
the network. Ad hoc networking covers a variety of network paradigms
including mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs), wireless sensor networks
(WSNs), vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs), airborne networks,
underwater networks, underground networks, personal area networks, and
home networks, etc. It promises a wide range of applications in
civilian, commercial, and military areas.
The aim of the annual AdHocNets conference is to provide a forum that
brings together researchers and engineers from academia, government
laboratories as well as industry to meet, network, exchange ideas and
present their recent research work, and discuss future directions on all
aspects of ad hoc networks. Following the success of ADHOCNETS’09-19,
the 12th edition of the event, ADHOCNETS 2020, will be held in virtually
from Paris Saclay. The conference will consist of keynote speeches,
invited talks, and technical sessions.

Goals of the Session:
The computing and wireless communication technologies have gone through
expeditious advancements in the recent past, which has brought the dawn of
emerging applications that are contributing to our quality of life. Among
other technologies, mobile ad hoc networks have played a pivotal role in
providing various kinds of applications such as wireless sensor network
applications, and intelligent transportation systems. Recently, another
term has surfaced referred to as Flying Ad hoc Network (FANET) that
incorporates unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs or drones) and fixed
infrastructure nodes as communicating entities. Various applications have
emerged with the introduction of FANETs, including the shipment of goods,
home package delivery, crop monitoring, agricultural surveillance, and
rescue operations. This special session will explore modeling and
performance evaluation of drones and UAVs in emergent applications. We are
looking for contributions that describe novel techniques, new models for
energy, communication and path for UAVs, interesting applications etc.
List of Topics:
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
· Optimal Dimensioning and Performance Analysis of Inter-Drone;
· Energy, communication, and path modeling of UAVs;
· UAV applications and UAV-based systems;
· Network protocols and communication systems for UAV-based
solutions;
· Algorithms and intelligent solutions for UAV-based deployments;
· Sensing solutions based on UAVs;
· UAV swarms and interaction between UAVs and IoT solutions;
· Integration of UAVs in Smart City solutions;
· Real-time application in UAV systems.
Paper Submission Guidelines:
Papers must be unpublished and must not be submitted for publication
elsewhere. All papers will be reviewed by Technical Program Committee
members and other experts active in the field to ensure high quality and
relevance to the conference.
At least one author of accepted papers must attend the conference to
present its contribution.
Papers should be written in English and should not exceed 10 pages, double
column, IEEE style including tables and figures. Note that the regular
paper size will be 8 pages, with the possibility to obtain up to 2
additional pages (total 10 pages) by paying a publication fee. A template
for IEEE Proceedings style (LaTeX2e and MS Word) can be found at
http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.
Only Postscript and PDF formats are accepted.
Papers must be submitted electronically through the EDAS system. The
complete list of authors' names must be inserted when registering the paper
on the EDAS system. Authors names can be inserted in the paper: that is,
the review process is single blind. Authors should check if they already
