CALL FOR TECHNICAL PAPERS
---------------------------
Web of Things (WoT) investigates how to envision interoperability by
re-using well-accepted standards and technologies adopted in the World Wide
Web (WWW). Differently from other stack-oriented solutions (e.g. 6LoWPAN),
WoT-based approaches propose to achieve system interoperability at the
application layer, abstracting from the sensing and communication
technologies: in a first approximation, Things are represented as Web
resources, and all the interactions toward and between Things are mapped
over Representational State Transfer (REST) services.
This workshop invites original research articles and reviews articles that
focus on the Web of Things and interoperability challenges in IoT scenarios.
---------------------------
TOPICS
---------------------------
- Interoperability for Industrial Scenarios
- W3C Web of Things
- Fog, Edge, and Cloud Computing for Web of Things Systems
- 5G Integration with the Web of Things
- Industrial Web of Things
- Semantic technologies for the Web of Things
- Security and Privacy in the Web of Things
- Discovery in IoT and WoT Systems
- (Web) Thing models
- Web technologies for Internet of Things
- QoS guarantees for Industrial scenarios

Call for papers IoTDI 2022
7th ACM/IEEE Conference on Internet of Things Design and Implementation. May
3-6, 2022 - Milan, Italy
https://conferences.computer.org/iotDI/2022/
Call for papers
The ACM/IEEE International Conference on Internet of Things Design and
Implementation (IoTDI) is a premier venue on IoT. In 2022, IoTDI will be
held for the seventh time, and will be part of CPS-IoT WEEK 2022
(https://cpsiotweek.neslab.it) being held in Milan, Italy.
A confluence of technological advances marks the advent of a new era. World
data volume is growing at an unprecedented pace, much of it from embedded
devices. AI/ML technology promise unprecedented levels of automation in
system operation and data processing. Smart cities grow, fed by millions of
data points from multitudes of human and physical sources, together with
machine intelligence algorithms that extract value for applications.
Cyber-attacks grow more nefarious, bringing down physical systems. Social
media are becoming ubiquitous, offering additional information on physical
things. The separation between cyber, physical, and social systems is
blurring. Collectively, these developments lead to the emergence of a new
multi-disciplinary field, where the networking and physical realms meet,
often in social spaces. It is the field of the Internet of Things (IoT).
This conference is an interdisciplinary forum that brings together
researchers and practitioners from academia, industry and government to
discuss challenges, technologies, and emerging directions in IoT system
design and implementation. This conference invites original, previously
unpublished work on a range of IoT topics, broadly defined.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
. Analytic foundations and theory of IoT
. Reliability, security, timeliness, and robustness in IoT
systems
. Machine intelligence for IoT systems and applications
. Social applications and social data analytics for IoT
. Novel protocols and network abstractions
. Data streaming architectures and AI/ML analytics for IoT
. IoT-motivated cyber-physical and Industrial IoT (IIoT)
systems
. Novel quality requirements and their enforcement mechanisms
. Cloud back-ends and resource management for IoT applications
. Edge and fog computing
. Personal, wearable, and other embedded networked front-ends
. Social computing and human-in-the-loop issues
. Applications domains (e.g., smart cities, smart health, smart
buildings, smart transportation)
. Deployment experiences, case studies, and lessons learned
. Evaluation and testbeds
. Energy/Power Management and Harvesting for IoT Platforms
For papers reporting results based on experiments with human subjects,
appropriate ethics approvals should be demonstrated as part of the
submission.
Accepted papers will be submitted for inclusion into IEEE Xplore subject to
meeting IEEE Xplore's scope and quality requirements.
IoTDI collaborates closely with the IPSN conference, given the proximity in
research themes (both related to IoT) and the co-location in CPS-IoT Week.
We provide submission guidelines
(https://ipsn.acm.org/joint_statement_IoTDI.html) to aid prospective authors
with the conference venue selection. In the meantime, we would like to make
explicit that double submission remains prohibited under the publisher's
policy of Prior Publication and Simultaneous Submissions. In 2022 and to
foster a closer joint-community, we would invite quality submissions to one
venue for publication at the other, in case we find fit and the authors
agree
Paper Submission
Please submit your paper to IoTDI 2022 here: https://iotdi22.hotcrp.com

CALL FOR TECHNICAL PAPERS
===========================
Recent advances in the field of telecommunications and electronics have led
to the proliferation of autonomous robots in numerous novel application
fields, from emergency situations to military applications, from
infrastructure inspection to ambient monitoring services, where the
utilization of multiple robots is essential in order to accomplish the
desired task. Recent works have demonstrated the challenges of coordinating
multiple robots in order to deploy robot networks with self-configuration
and self-healing capabilities to guarantee service continuity, also in case
of failures.
Starting from the unique requirements of a multi robot system, Swarm
Robotics is a complex approach that requires an understanding of how to
define distributed systems to define self-organization behaviors. Swarm
Robotics studies how to make robots collaborate and collectively solve a
task where every robot contributes to the general task sharing the same
higher-level objectives. To this end, communication wireless networks must
be specifically designed in order to support the cooperation and
collaboration inside the swarm.
This workshop invites original research articles and review articles that
focus on communication networking problems in swarm robotics.

=======
We are delighted to invite you to the 6th IEEE International Conference on
Fog and Edge Computing to be held in Taormina (Messina), Italy.
INTRODUCTION
The number of Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices is predicted to reach 38.6
billion by 2025. These connected devices, ranging from user devices to more
complex systems, such as vehicles and power grids, are equipped with
sensing, actuating, communication, processing, and storage capabilities, and
they generate huge amounts of data of various types. However, the need to
operate the scale of heterogeneous IoT devices while being
performance-efficient in real-time is challenging. Typically, the data
generated by the IoT devices are transferred to and processed centrally by
services hosted on geographically distant clouds. This is untenable given
the communication latency incurred and the ingress bandwidth demand.
A new and disruptive paradigm spear-headed by academics and industry experts
is taking shape so that applications can leverage resources located at the
edge of the network and along the continuum between the cloud and the edge.
These edge resources may be geographically or in the network topology closer
to IoT devices, such as home routers, gateways, or more substantial micro
data centers. Edge resources may be used to offload selected services from
the cloud to accelerate an application or to host edge-native applications.
The paradigm within which the edge is harnessed is referred to as "Fog/Edge
computing".
The Fog/Edge computing paradigm is expected to improve the agility of
service deployments, to allow the usage of opportunistic and cheap
computing, and to leverage the network latency and bandwidth diversities
between these resources. Numerous challenges arise when using edge
resources, which require the re-examination of operating systems,
virtualization and containers, and middleware techniques for fabric
management. New abstractions and extensions to current programming and
storage models are necessary to allow developers to design novel
applications that can benefit from massively distributed and data-driven
edge systems. Addressing security, privacy, and trust of the edge resources
is of paramount importance while managing the resources and context of
mobile, transient and hardware-constrained resources. The integration of
edge computing and 5G will also bring new opportunities and unique
challenges. Enabling machine/deep learning at the edge is critical for many
applications. Lastly, emerging domains like autonomous vehicles and smart
health need to be supported by fog and edge resources.

Call for papers IoTDI 2022
7th ACM/IEEE Conference on Internet of Things Design and Implementation. May
3-6, 2022 - Milan, Italy
https://conferences.computer.org/iotDI/2022/
Call for papers
The ACM/IEEE International Conference on Internet of Things Design and
Implementation (IoTDI) is a premier venue on IoT. In 2022, IoTDI will be
held for the seventh time, and will be part of CPS-IoT WEEK 2022
(https://cpsiotweek.neslab.it) being held in Milan, Italy.
A confluence of technological advances marks the advent of a new era. World
data volume is growing at an unprecedented pace, much of it from embedded
devices. AI/ML technology promise unprecedented levels of automation in
system operation and data processing. Smart cities grow, fed by millions of
data points from multitudes of human and physical sources, together with
machine intelligence algorithms that extract value for applications.
Cyber-attacks grow more nefarious, bringing down physical systems. Social
media are becoming ubiquitous, offering additional information on physical
things. The separation between cyber, physical, and social systems is
blurring. Collectively, these developments lead to the emergence of a new
multi-disciplinary field, where the networking and physical realms meet,
often in social spaces. It is the field of the Internet of Things (IoT).
This conference is an interdisciplinary forum that brings together
researchers and practitioners from academia, industry and government to
discuss challenges, technologies, and emerging directions in IoT system
design and implementation. This conference invites original, previously
unpublished work on a range of IoT topics, broadly defined.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
. Analytic foundations and theory of IoT
. Reliability, security, timeliness, and robustness in IoT
systems
. Machine intelligence for IoT systems and applications
. Social applications and social data analytics for IoT
. Novel protocols and network abstractions
. Data streaming architectures and AI/ML analytics for IoT
. IoT-motivated cyber-physical and Industrial IoT (IIoT)
systems
. Novel quality requirements and their enforcement mechanisms
. Cloud back-ends and resource management for IoT applications
. Edge and fog computing
. Personal, wearable, and other embedded networked front-ends
. Social computing and human-in-the-loop issues
. Applications domains (e.g., smart cities, smart health, smart
buildings, smart transportation)
. Deployment experiences, case studies, and lessons learned
. Evaluation and testbeds
. Energy/Power Management and Harvesting for IoT Platforms
For papers reporting results based on experiments with human subjects,
appropriate ethics approvals should be demonstrated as part of the
submission.
Accepted papers will be submitted for inclusion into IEEE Xplore subject to
meeting IEEE Xplore's scope and quality requirements.
IoTDI collaborates closely with the IPSN conference, given the proximity in
research themes (both related to IoT) and the co-location in CPS-IoT Week.
We provide submission guidelines
(https://ipsn.acm.org/joint_statement_IoTDI.html) to aid prospective authors
with the conference venue selection. In the meantime, we would like to make
explicit that double submission remains prohibited under the publisher's
policy of Prior Publication and Simultaneous Submissions. In 2022 and to
foster a closer joint-community, we would invite quality submissions to one
venue for publication at the other, in case we find fit and the authors
agree

Sorry for multiple postings!
IEEE Transactions on Network and Service Management
Special Issue on
“Recent Advances in the Design and Management of Reliable Communication
Networks”
Reliability of communication infrastructures is a top priority for network
operators. To ensure reliable network operation, new design and management
techniques must be constantly devised to respond to the rapid network and
service evolution. As a recent and relevant example, deployments of 5G
communication networks will soon enter their second phase, during which the
network infrastructure will require upgrades to support new Ultra-Reliable
services with availability of up to 6 nines. Similarly, disaster resiliency
in communication networks is now attracting the attention of media,
governments and industry as never before (consider, e.g., the worldwide
network traffic deluge to support remote working during the current
COVID19-pandemic!). Luckily, several new technical directions can be
leveraged to provide new solutions for network reliability such as for
example: increased network reconfigurability enabled by Software Defined
Networking (SDN); integration/convergence of multiple technologies
(optical, wireless, satellite, datacenter networks); enhanced forms of
data/service replication, supported by, e.g., edge computing; network
slicing, used to carve highly-reliable logical partitions of network,
computing and storage resources. These, and many other technological
transformations can enable next-generation high-reliability networks.
Given the strong interest in both industry and academia towards reliability
of telecom networks and cloud-computing infrastructures, we organize this
IEEE TNSM Special Issue as a second Special Issue as part of a Series on
Design and Management of Reliable Networks. in IEEE Transactions on Network
and Service Management, with the first issue published in September 2021.
The Special Issue aims at the timely publication of recent and innovative
research results on this important topic. This Special Issue is organized
in collaboration with the International Conference on the Design of
Reliable Communication Networks (DRCN), which was held in April this year.
DRCN is a well-established forum for scientists from both industry and
academy who have interest in reliability and availability of communication
networks. As such, this Special Issue will also invite top-scored DRCN
papers to share excellent results and new challenges in the field of
reliable communication networks and services.
We welcome submissions addressing important challenges (see the
non-exhaustive list of topics below) and presenting novel research or
experimentation results. Survey papers that offer a perspective on related
work and identify key challenges for future research will be considered as
well. We look forward to your submissions!
