Final CALL-FOR-PAPERS (with extended deadline)
Wireless Networks (WINET), Springer, SPECIAL ISSUE ON Wireless Internet
Technologies
CFP URL: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FvNGhbfBDylT_Y1kOwoVRK-zgjWC4S2n/view

Manuscript submission DEADLINE: March 30, 2022 [Extended FIRM Deadline]
Overview:
Wireless technology has penetrated almost all walks of life today. We get
easy Internet service via wireless connection of various settings like
wireless LAN (Local Area Network), cellular network, satellite and so on.
The concept of the Internet has expanded to cover anything connected to the
huge network of networks. While wired or guided media based connections are
still considered the most stable forms of connections to this huge network,
nowadays the wireless form and anything that supports that are also
considered an integral part in this scenario. Even after several stages of
advancements of wireless technologies, there remains unsolved issues and
challenges of wireless Internet communications, ranging from technology
issues to new applications and test-bed developments, especially focusing
on next-generation wireless Internet, 5G, 6G, IoT (Internet of Things),
Industrial IoT, Healthcare IoT, and related methodologies. There are also
middleware issues, challenges to the platform providers, responsibilities
for the application developers, and smart object providers.
Given this scenario, in this Special Issue (SI), we are interested in novel
ideas, concrete technical works, and exchange of points of views. We expect
that this would be a platform for academics, educators, and practitioners
to present and discuss the latest technologies, developments, practical
challenges and approaches to Wireless Internet and anything that is related
to this field.
This SI would be linked with the 14th EAI International Wireless Internet
Conference (EAI WiCON 2021), held on November 09, 2021 virtually (online)
though the initial plan was to hold it in Orillia, Canada (due to the
COVID-19 pandemic, was held online). Selected best quality papers from the
event, after sufficient extensions and revisions would be invited for
submission to this SI. A few open call submissions may also be considered.

are especially looking for work that has the potential of creating
interactions with the audience.
Submission Guidelines and Selection Criteria
The authors are asked to submit a brief proposal that includes a
description of the contribution of the poster/demonstration. The proposal
for the poster/demo should include a brief abstract that should emphasize
clearly the motivation and technical contribution of the submission,
highlights of the technical contribution at a sufficient level of details
to judge their merit, and any preliminary results (desired but not
required). Submissions for demonstration should clearly outline the
features of the demonstration that the audience can interact with and their
potential in stimulating interesting discussions with the audience. The
demonstration submissions should also explicitly outline any specially
needed accommodations that the committee has to be aware of when making a
decision on the appropriateness of the proposal.
All submissions should use the IEEE 8.5″ x 11″ Two-Column

3rd International Workshop on Real-life modeling in 5G/6G networks and
beyond -- REFRESH 2022
https://refresh2022.github.io/#/
Co-located with IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing in
Sensor Systems (DCOSS 2022)
https://dcoss.org/
Marina Del Rey, LA, California
May 30 to June 1, 2022
Scope and Overview
The economic and societal potential of emerging 5G/6G and cyber-physical
social systems is vastly greater than what has been realized so far, and
major investments are being made worldwide to develop the corresponding
science and technology. The Future Internet paradigm, the proliferation of
emerging networks and architectures, wireless access technologies and
multi-homing smart devices are evolving towards a competitive environment,
where users and devices have access to various resources, while their
behaviors become strongly interdependent. This fact demands and motivates
the development of user-centric resource management and optimization
frameworks, which enable user's self-optimization and autonomy. This vision
is further motivated and supported by the convergence of various emerging
technologies enabling Cyber-Physical Systems operation, including 5G/B5G/6G
technologies, Internet of Things (IoT), Mobile Edge Computing and Software
Defined Networking, all targeting flexibility and efficiency. To deal with
the involved complexity, and driven by the requirements of autonomy and
scalability, distributed resource orchestration approaches appear as a
necessity rather than a desire.
The REFRESH Workshop aims at to stimulate research on the most novel topics
of real-life modeling in 5G/6G networks and beyond. This year's edition
encourages submission of theoretical and experimental work (including
studies of real deployment), with a primary interest in new directions of
wireless networking in concrete application scenarios and demonstrators in
areas such as, but not limited to: mobile edge computing, Internet of
Things, cyber-physical systems, unmanned aerial vehicles, public safety
networks, dynamic spectrum utilization, smart grid communications, wireless
power communication, green wireless networks, information-centric wireless
networks. The workshop seeks original work presented in the form of
research papers describing new research and development approaches and
results, as well as work-in-progress papers. Highly disruptive
work-in-progress and position papers are also welcome, provided they focus
on particularly innovative solutions or applications for 5G/6G networks and
beyond. All papers shall be forward-looking, describe their relationship to
existing work, and shall argue their impact and implications for ongoing or
future research. Selected workshop papers will also be considered for
publication in a Special Issue and/or Special Sections of international
peer-reviewed journals.

ACM SIGCOMM 2022 Workshop on Networked Sensing Systems for a Sustainable
Society (NET4us 2022)
Call for Papers
Sustainable environmental sensing systems, as the converging point of
several technologies, can have tremendous potential to deliver social
value. Multiple industries are progressively investing in environmental
sustainability initiatives and technologies to improve quality of life
while safeguarding natural resources. For example, the Internet of Things
could be a game-changer for sustainability, as reported by the World
Economic Forum, which indicated that 84% of IoT deployments are currently
addressing, or have the potential to handle, some of the 17 SDGs.
Different challenges need to be addressed, from designing "better" sensing
objects, i.e., energy-efficient, low power, and able to communicate via
wide-area networks, to turning to the general public for deploying such
systems and crowdsourcing data using social sensing or citizen science.
With the "Networked sensing systems for a sustainable society" (NET4us)
workshop, we aim to present and showcase the latest advances in sustainable
networked sensing systems to monitor different urban and rural conditions
to improve both people's quality of life and reduce climate change.
Therefore, we seek original, unpublished papers addressing key issues and

Aims and Scope
Recently, the rapid development of Unmanned Autonomous Vehicles (UAVs),
also known as drones, has highlighted a plethora of emergent applications
such as infrastructure inspection and surveillance, smart agriculture, seek
and rescue, parcel delivery, communications, and post-disaster recovery. In
all these applications, UAVs may coexist with ground Internet of Things
(IoT) devices. For example, UAVs autonomously perform remote sensing
relaying the collected data by the sensors. Moreover, single or multiple
UAVs can cooperatively collaborate providing services that require
efficient protocols where multiple objectives and constraints should be
accounted for.
For this workshop, we seek papers that combine the design of algorithms and
testbed implementations to develop the theoretical foundations for UAVs as
well as the synergies with IoT devices. The numerous emergent applications
raised by IoT may require an interdisciplinary approach, involving
techniques from algorithm foundations and different areas, such as computer
networks, artificial intelligence, concurrent, parallel and distributed
