=====================================================================================
CIPHERSS: 1st Workshop on Critical Infrastructure PHysical-cybER Safety and
Security
The conference will be held in Leuven, Belgium
8th April 2024
https://edcc2024.esat.kuleuven.be/
in conjunction with the 19th European Dependable Computing Conference (EDCC)
=====================================================================================
MISSION:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Critical Infrastructures (CIs) are an inevitable part of the modern,
interconnected world. Their main objective is to provide services essential
for the physical and economical well-being of citizens. The number of the
attack attempts such infrastructures endure, forces academy, industries and
public bodies to keep high the interest in the protection against security
threats. Recent Artificial Intelligence (AI) advancements improve CIs
protection through risk analysis. Digital Twins (DTs) enhance risk
assessment and decision-making by syncing complex systems and incorporating
data, including consumer behaviour.
CIPHERSS workshop aims at providing a forum to communicate their latest
results on theoretical advances, industrial case studies, practical
scenarios, and lessons learned in the design and in the verification of
properties of critical infrastructures.
TOPICS:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The topics of interest include but are not limited to, the areas listed below
-approaches based on the combination of different perspectives (e.g.,
physical and cyber security);
-security/performance trade-offs for cryptographic schemes and algorithms;
-safety/security trade-offs in protection systems;
-integration between model-based and data-driven approaches;
-innovative techniques based on DTs;
-usage of AI techniques to ensure quality and related trustworthiness;
-predictive and defect maintenance;
-risk assessment methodologies for critical infrastructure protections
PAPER SUBMISSION:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Submitted papers (up to 15 pages including references) will be reviewed by
three members of Program Committee (or their sub-reviewers) and selection
of accepted papers will be based on relevance, quality and originality.
Ensuring the reproducibility of the results is a highly appreciated feature
of the contributions.
Accepted papers will be published in a Springer book (to be confirmed). At
least one of the (co)author(s) of each accepted paper is required to
register and attend the conference to present the work.
Authors must use the LNCS conference proceedings format obtainable at:
https://www.springer.com/gp/computer-science/lncs/conference-proceedings-gu….
All papers for the CIPHERSS Workshop should be submitted via dedicated
EasyChair (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=cipherss2024).
If you have any questions regarding the submission of manuscripts, please
contact one of the Workshop Chairs.

All submissions will undergo a double-blind review process. As a result,
authors must make a good faith effort to anonymize their submissions.
The workshop will follow the main conference indications in being a,
potentially hybrid, physical/virtual event. The boundary between the two
modalities will be defined based on the pandemic conditions worldwide.
Currently it is scheduled as a physical event, with a provision for remote
participation.
Accepted workshop papers will be included in the IEEE Percom 2024
proceedings and will appear in the IEEE Explore Library.
Authors of selected papers will be invited to submit an extended version of
their work to an accepted special issue of an international journal whose
details will be disclosed shortly.

WONS 2024 - Call for Papers : New deadline
View in browser
<https://95npx.r.a.d.sendibm1.com/mk/mr/sh/SMJz09SDriOHTzlPvFpjQBRpw9cT/yTtb…>
Dear all,
SLICES supports the organisation of the 19th edition of WONS on January
29-31st: https://2024.wons-conference.org
<https://95npx.r.a.d.sendibm1.com/mk/cl/f/sh/SMK1E8tHeFuBm0KmylvqXf44ZAm5/z6…>
Based on several requests, the deadline for WONS 2024 has been extended
by two weeks - consider submitting your papers byNovember 20.
Please find the call for papers below, we look for long and short
papers (max 8 and 4 pages, respectively). The conference will be in
Avoriaz, in the French alps.
Wireless on-demand network systems and services have become mainstream
technologies that shape the networked world of the future. Different
types of wireless LANs, both sub-6 GHz and in higher frequency bands,
as well as such established technologies as Bluetooth LE, LTE-Direct,
LTE ProSE, NR sidelink, NFC, and optical links are the cornerstone of
networking paradigms including NextG cellular, mesh and sensor
networks, cloud networks, vehicular networks, non-terrestrial networks,
and in-body networks.
The challenges of this exciting research field are numerous. These
include providing robust services in highly dynamic, mobile, and
extreme environments, how to minimize energy demands or zero out
battery usage in favor of renewable energy sources, how to smartly
blend multiple wireless technologies available to a network node
(including across radically different bands), and how to make wireless
on-demand networks and services self-configurable, adaptive,
self-organizing, and self-healing in a variety of different context,
each exhibiting its own peculiar constraints.
IFIP WONS, now at its eighteenth edition, has established itself as a
high quality forum to address the above and related challenges. WONS
2024 aims at continuing to provide a global platform for rich
interactions between experts in their fields, discussing innovative
contributions in a stimulating environment.
This announcement solicits original contributions of high-quality
research providing novel insights on all aspects of wireless on-demand
networks and systems. Topics of interest comprise, but are not limited to:
* 5G and 6G networks
* Cloud/edge/fog computing and networking
* Cognitive radio networks
* Cross-layer design
* Data analytics and ML/AI-driven network systems
* Heterogeneous wireless networks
* Joint communications, networking, and sensing
* Implementations and testbeds
* Internet of Things
* Intra-body and biomedical on-demand systems
* Integrated Access and Backhaul technologies
* Integration of different wireless technologies
* Localization and mobility management
* Mobile computing and services
* Network and service management
* Non-terrestrial (aerial, space, underwater, …) networks
* Novel architectures, protocols, applications and services
* Open source software, open source hardware and open data
* Optical and visible light wireless networks
* Performance evaluation through simulations, emulations and
real-world experiments
* Pervasive and ubiquitous computing
* Quantum computing and networking
* QoS and QoE aspects
* Security, privacy, and trust
* Social and economic aspects
* Sustainable networks and distributed ML/AI services
* Theoretical and data driven modeling and optimization
* Vehicular networks
* Wireless technologies for NextG networks (millimeter-wave,
terahertz, …)
The authors of selected papers from WONS 2024 edition will be invited
to submit an extended version of their work to _Elsevier Computer
Communications_
<https://95npx.r.a.d.sendibm1.com/mk/cl/f/sh/SMK1E8tHeG13E99k9w5KdUMoXTML/go…>for
possible publication in a dedicated Virtual Special Issue (VSI). VSI
submitted papers should extend significantly the original work offering
additional contribution and insight to the community.
Together with the honor, this year's Best Paper Award comes also with a
monetary prize sponsored by _IFIP_
<https://95npx.r.a.d.sendibm1.com/mk/cl/f/sh/SMK1E8tHeG7ugHyhL6EojJfYVlwb/9Z…>.
