***** technically co-sponsored by IEEE Germany Section
***** EXTENDED Deadline: May 23rd, 2023
========================================================================
RNDM is a well established single-track annual workshop, each time
gathering world-class researchers from both academia and industry to
present the high-quality results in the area of reliable networks design
and modeling. RNDM 2023 follows the success of the first twelve events
organized in St. Petersburg (2009, 2012), Moscow (2010),
Budapest (2011), Almaty (2013), Barcelona (2014), Munich (2015),
Halmstad (2016), Alghero (2017), Longyearbyen (2018), Nicosia (2019) and
Compiegne (2022), accordingly.
RNDM 2023 will be held in Hamburg, Germany, which is a maritime
metropolis and the commercial and cultural capital of northern Germany.
Besides the regular technical papers, the technical program also will
feature tutorial and poster sessions and two keynotes from industry and
academia. Accepted papers are planned to be published through
IEEExplore. Selected papers of high quality will be offered the
opportunity to submit to a journal special issue.
RNDM 2023 is organized by University of Hamburg, Germany in co-operation
with Gdansk University of Technology, Poland. RNDM 2023 is sponsored by
IEEE German Section and IFIP TC6 WG6.10.

- cost evaluation of network resilience,
- disaster-resilience of communication networks,
- data plane resiliency methods,
- end-to-end resilience,
- energy efficiency in survivable networks,
- fault and disruption tolerance evaluation,
- fault management, control, and monitoring,
- Future Internet resilience,
- green networks resilience,
- management of survivable content-oriented and cloud-ready networks,
- methods for measurement, evaluation, or validation of resilience,
- modeling different types of failures,
- modeling malicious behavior or attacks on networks,
- models and algorithms of survivable networks design and modeling,
- multilayer networks resilience,

CALL FOR PAPERS - NET4us 2023
2nd Workshop on Networked Sensing Systems for a Sustainable Society (NET4us
2023)
In conjunction with ACM MOBICOM - The 29th Annual International Conference
On Mobile Computing And Networking, 2-6 Oct. 2023, Madrid, SPAIN
https://grc.webs.upv.es/events/net4us2023/
With today's advancements in IoT sensor technologies and wireless and
mobile connectivity, digital innovation and sustainability concepts have
become mutually reinforcing. Companies must embrace digital transformation
to pivot to more energy-efficient solutions, use resources more responsibly
and organize processes in ways that reduce waste. Examples of possible
actuation areas are energy management, air pollution monitoring, fleet
management, water management, and farming. At the same time, the growth of
the number of IoT deployments and its integration in the 5G and future 6G
mobile networking contexts requires the solutions themselves to be green
and sustainable, with, for example, the integration and use of energy and
environmentally conscious technical solutions for communications. With
these objectives in mind, researchers must overcome several challenges,
ranging from developing "better" and novel sensing objects that must be
energy-efficient, and able to communicate via wide-area networks (e.g.,
LPWAN) to relying on the general public for the deployment of such systems
and crowdsourcing the data collection using mobile sensing devices (e.g.,
citizen science initiatives).
The NET4us workshop offers a singular opportunity to discuss novel research
contributions addressing systems and applications based on mobile computers
and wireless networks in the specific area of networked sensing systems for
a sustainable society while considering multidisciplinary approaches that
emphasize the human role in resolving these issues. We propose this
workshop to provide an alternative forum for the researchers of mobile
networked sensing solutions and help create a community around this topic.
With this workshop, we intend to attract contributions from different areas
and backgrounds, to facilitate multidisciplinary discussions across
academicians, practitioners, and policymakers, leading to high-impact and
transformative research.

Scope and Motivation
The Internet of Things (IoT) has emerged as a promising technology to
revolutionize the way we live and interact with the surrounding
environment. IoT produces and communicates massive amounts of data that
needs to be filtered, analyzed, and processed. In industrial
environments (i.e., Industry 4.0 and 5.0) as well as in smart cities,
communication between connected devices requires high reliability, low
latency, and sufficient scalability. Several technologies such as BLE,
Zigbee, Wireless HART, IEEE Std 802.15.4 TSCH, 6TiSCH, LPWAN (LoRa,
Sigfox, NB-IoT, LTE-M etc.), and RAW have been proposed to tackle these
communication requirements. The 5G network provides not only increased
data rates but also ultra-low data latency communication for critical
IoT applications that require extreme reliability. 5G enables Machine
Type Communication (MTC), which is used by mobile network operators,
equipment vendors, MTC specialist companies, and research bodies.
The high-traffic demand, low-latency, and deterministic delivery
requirements stemming from IoT and machine-to-machine (M2M)
communications can be met only with radical changes to current
communication and networking architectures. Recently, Fog and Edge
computing has been proposed to mitigate the heavy burden on the network
due to the centralized processing and storing of the massive IoT
data. Fog/Edge-enabled IoT architectures ensure closer processing in
proximity to the things, which results in small, deterministic latency
that enables real-time applications and enforced security.

The International Conference on Embedded Wireless Systems and Networks
(EWSN) is a highly selective single-track international conference focusing
on the latest research results on embedded systems and wireless networking,
key enablers for visionary scenarios such as the Internet of Things and
Cyber-Physical Systems. Building on the past 19 years of success, the 20th
edition will be held in Rende, Italy. The conference continues its aim for
broad, world-wide impact. Proceedings will be indexed in the ACM Digital
Library, SCOPUS, and other prominent digital libraries.
FEATURE TOPIC: Enabling the IoT ecosystem through Embedded Wireless Systems
and Networks
The Internet of Things (IoT) is the latest example of an ecosystem whose
constituent elements promise to be independent, situated, and temporarily
networked to synergically provide advanced cyberÐphysical functionalities.
Embedded Wireless Systems and Networks play a key role in the IoT scenario
but their engineering poses several challenges from as many viewpoints,
spanning across the whole development stack: at device level, embedded
systems demands to incorporate embedded intelligence for smartness,
autonomy, safety, resilience, efficiency and privacy; at network level,
current wireless technologies like 5G, NB-IOT, ZigBee and Lora as well as
next-generation ones need to be fully exploited aiming to enable edge
computing paradigm; at data level, the huge amount of data with
heterogeneous data schemas and formats demand for effective processing,
storage and exploitation techniques; finally, at the service level,
integration and interoperability issues need to be addressed by means of
semantic technologies to avoid
siloed and segmented systems and applications.
To systematically address these issues and tame the intrinsic complexity of
the IoT ecosystem, full-fledged sets of development solutions and
multidisciplinary approaches are needed: therefore, methodologies,
frameworks, platforms and tools purposely conceived for the IoT scenario
are gaining traction.
SPECIFIC TOPICS of interest include but are not limited to:
Edge Intelligence paradigms, models and techniques for IoT ecosystems;
Architectures and infrastructures for Edge-Cloud continuum for IoT
ecosystems; Interoperability-oriented and integration-oriented enablers for
IoT ecosystems; Communication and networking for wireless, embedded and

Internet of Everything Models for Industry 5.0 (HIEMI 2023); The 1st
International Workshop on Trusted and Reliable Embedded Wireless
Environments (TREWE 2023).
SUBMISSION to EWSN 2023 must be original (i.e., not previously published)
and not currently under review by any other conference or journal.
Submissions related to the featured topic are especially welcome, but all
other submissions in scope of EWSN are equally welcome, all submissions
will be evaluated based on the same criteria. EWSN 2023 will adopt a
double-blind review process. Authors must make a good faith effort to
