**SCOPE**
Recently, the rapid development of Unmanned Autonomous Vehicles (UAVs),
also known as drones, has highlighted a plethora of emergent applications
such as infrastructure inspection and surveillance, smart agriculture, seek
and rescue, parcel delivery, communications, and post-disaster recovery. In
all these applications UAVs may coexist with ground Internet of Things
(IoT) devices. For example, UAVs autonomously perform remote sensing
relaying the collected data by the sensors. Additionally, one or more UAVs
can collaborate to provide services that require efficient protocols where
multiple objectives and constraints need to be considered.
For this workshop, we seek papers that combine the design of algorithms and
testbed implementations to develop the theoretical foundations for UAVs as
well as the synergies with IoT devices. The numerous emergent applications
raised by IoT may require an interdisciplinary approach involving
techniques from algorithm foundations and different areas, such as computer
networks, artificial intelligence, concurrent, parallel, and distributed
computing, security, digital signal, image, and sound processing.

CFP: WoLoLo 2024: The 2nd IEEE Workshop on Wireless outdoor, Long-Range and Low-Power Networks
by Lars Wolf 07 Feb '24
by Lars Wolf 07 Feb '24
07 Feb '24
WoLoLo 2024
The 2nd IEEE Workshop on Wireless outdoor, Long-Range and Low-Power Networks
Low-power and long-range communication networks (including LoRa, MIoTy,
NB-IoT for sensor networks and the Internet of Things) have recently
attracted increasing research interest and efforts. Despite the rapid
development, there are still many challenges and unsolved problems in this
area with respect to large-scale real-world applications. Especially in
applications that cover large areas, are located in remote and
hard-to-reach places, or in hazardous areas, reliable communication without
existing infrastructure is the immense advantage of Low-power and
long-range technologies. At the same time, this is also the challenge,
because the sensors and networks must be self-sufficient, reliable and
available over a long period of time. In addition to the various
requirements for wireless communication, the low-power aspects in
particular therefore also play a major role, because without sufficient
energy efficiency, the practical use of such networks is not expedient.
Based on hardware architectures and novel platforms, large-scale networks
can be established using robust and efficient transmission technologies
such as LoRa, MIoTy or NB-IoT. For this, protocols and network management
are indispensable, which always consider the aspects of reliability,
transmission range and energy efficiency. These methods also have in common
that greater robustness and longer transmission distances are achieved at
the expense of bandwidth. In this context, on-sensor data processing for
bandwidth reduction is an important key to future low-power and long-range
network architectures, while overlying network management and integration
into existing IoT structures must also be considered.
The goal of this workshop is to bring together researchers from academia
and industry to address the challenges and opportunities in the design,
development, implementation and deployment of wireless low power and long
range sensors and networks on every layer.

complete contact information for all authors, abstract, and keywords on the
cover page. IEEE reserves the right to remove papers from IEEE Xplore
thatare not presented at the conference.
*** Paper submission ***
Papers must be registered on EDAS and submitted in PDF format. Detailed
submission instructions are available at the conference website. Direct
your questions to Program Chairs: Florian Tschorsch and Kanchana
Thilakarathna(program(a)ieeelcn.org).
A limited number of student grants and N2 Women Young Researcher Fellowship
awards are considered by the conference each year.
*** Remote Presentation Option ***
LCN considers in-person meetings indispensable for collaborations, personal
exchanges, discussions, and networking opportunities. Recognizing the
evolving landscape of academic conferences and the need for flexibility,
LCN 2024 introduces a Remote Presentation Option. Upon
acceptance/registration, authors have the option to select physical or
remote presentation modes. When opting for remote presentation, a fee of
500 USD is required in addition to the author registration. This fee covers
supplementary costs associated with providing a remote option. The
additional fee for remote presentations may be waived when all authors are
from countries marked with an asterisk on the following list of IEEE
eMembership.
Countries: https://www.ieee.org/membership/join/emember-countries.html
Remote presentation is restricted to full, short, and doctoral papers.
Further implementation details will be communicated as part of the author
and presenter instructions.
The overarching goal of LCN 2024 is to enhance the accessibility and
inclusivity of LCN, catering to a diverse global audience while preserving
the value of physical participation.
Best Regards,
IEEE LCN Publicity Chairs,
Abdullah, Theofanis, Youlong

DCOSS-IoT 2024 will feature a poster session and a demo session that
provide opportunities for researchers and developers from academia,
industry, and government to explore the latest research results
interactively. The presentations will provide authors with early feedback
on their research work and enable them to exchange ideas with DCOSS-IoT
participants. Besides presentations in the respective poster and demo
sessions, DCOSS-IoT will host a dedicated session where poster and demo
authors will give a short oral presentation of their work, during the main
conference program. Also, a best poster/demo award will be presented.
Posters and demos should report on recent original results or ongoing
research in all aspects of smart systems and the Internet of Things,
including algorithms, protocols, systems and applications. All submissions
will be reviewed and judged based on originality, technical contribution
and, particularly, potential to generate interesting and interactive
exchanges of ideas. Poster and demo papers will be included in the
conference proceedings (same volume with main event papers) and submitted
to the IEEE Xplore Digital Library.
Accepted posters/demos must be presented at the Conference and at least one
author for each poster or demo must be registered for the conference.
*Requirements for Posters:*
Poster presentation: Dimension of A1 (594 x 841 mm), vertically oriented.
Poster paper: Poster papers are limited to 3 pages and should contain
