CALL FOR PAPERS
Wi-DroIT 2021 - 3rd International Workshop on Wireless Sensors and Drones
in Internet of Things
July 14–16, 2021 – Virtual Event
co-located with DCOSS 2021
Website: https://widroit2021.github.io
Submission link: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=widroit2021
Due to the evolution of the health pandemic, the event will be held fully
on-line. This will not impact the publication of the DCOSS 2021 proceedings
and accepted papers will be included in the IEEE Xplore Proceedings. The
virtual program will include live sessions of invited speakers and author
presentations, possibly supplemented by online material such as the papers,
presentation slides and videos.
Aims and Scope
Recently, the rapid development of Unmanned Autonomous Vehicles (UAVs),
also known as drones, has highlighted a plethora of emergent applications
such as infrastructure inspection and surveillance, smart agriculture, seek
and rescue, parcel delivery, communications, and post-disaster recovery. In
all these applications, UAVs may coexist with ground Internet of Things
(IoT) devices. For example, UAVs autonomously perform remote sensing
relaying the collected data by the sensors. Moreover, single or multiple
UAVs can cooperatively collaborate providing services that require
efficient protocols where multiple objectives and constraints should be
accounted for.
For this workshop, we seek papers that combine the design of algorithms and
testbed implementations to develop the theoretical foundations for UAVs as
well as the synergies with IoT devices. The numerous emergent applications
raised by IoT may require an interdisciplinary approach, involving
techniques from algorithm foundations and different areas, such as computer
networks, artificial intelligence, concurrent, parallel and distributed
computing, security, digital signal, image and sound processing.

The International Teletraffic Congress ITC 33, is the 33th edition of this
international flagship congress in the field of networking science and
practice. ITC was founded back in 1955 by enthusiastic scientists and
engineers who were willing to deploy networks in a holistic way. Since
then, it has established a multi-decade tradition as the primary forum for
presenting and discussing the latest technical advances in the broad areas
of teletraffic models, network systems, and measurements.
ITC 33 focuses on the future networks taking advantage of 5G and artificial
intelligence (AI), towards “AI-integrated Networks”. Indeed, service
providers from all over the world are already reaping the benefits of
integrating AI into their networks. For ITC 33, cutting-edge papers
spanning both theory and experimentation are solicited in all areas of
networking, ranging from traffic engineering and control with application
also to emerging softwarized/virtualized network paradigms, up to
innovative wireless scenarios brought about by the emergence of 5G and IoT
systems. We especially encourage original contributions which bridge the
gap between performance modeling and real-life operational aspects,
including works which leverage measurement data to provide a better
understanding of the wired and wireless networks operation under realistic
conditions.
ITC 33 solicits original contributions that address the latest changes and
developments in design, modelling, measurement, and performance evaluation
of communication systems, networks, and services. ITC 33 is structured into
eight different areas. The objectives in these areas include, among others,
energy-efficiency and green IT, network security and privacy, QoS and QoE,
and resilience. The technical sessions will be structured around, but are
not limited to, the following topics:
• Performance Evaluation, Control and Optimization
• Network Measurements and Big Data
• Networking Architectures and Paradigms
• Wireless and Cellular Networks
• Data Center Networking for Cloud Computing Design and Operation
• Software Defined Networking and Network Function Virtualization
• Networking for Edge and Fog Computing • Network Economics The conference
will feature a best paper award and a best student paper award. Papers
receiving best paper awards of the conference will be invited for
fast-track reviews by IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering.
Besides the general submissions, ITC33 encourages submissions for the
*Ph.D. workshop* and special sessions.
Important dates:
**Friday April 30, 2021: Paper submission deadline (firm)**
Monday June 14, 2021: Expected notification date
Monday July 5, 2021: Camera-ready deadline
Tuesday August 31 - Friday September 3, 2021: Conference dates

The organizing committee is delighted to invite you to submit your work for
presentation at the 8th ACM conference on Information Centric Networking
(ICN 2021), to be held virtually 22-24 September 2021.
ACM ICN 2021 is a single-track conference focusing on significant research
contributions to ICN as broadly defined, and featuring paper presentations,
posters, and demonstrations.
ICN deals with all aspects of an information- or data-centric approach
toward supporting networked applications. Such an approach treats digital
objects (i.e., collections of bits) as first-class objects, and supports
identification, creation, retrieval, authentication, and access control for
such objects through a global service.
ACM ICN 2021 solicits research contributions across the full spectrum of
technologies and architectures related to ICN, including work that advances
core ICN concepts, architectures, technologies, and capabilities; extends
current ICN concepts to new networking environments and use cases;
realizes, demonstrates, and quantifies the benefits of ICN in traditional
and emerging application domains; and catalyzes, incentivizes, simplifies,
and supports ICN deployments in realistic, operational environments and
settings.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
• Vision papers identifying and scoping future research directions for ICN
(limited to short papers). Submissions will be distinguished by the prefix
“Vision:” in the title.
• Systematization of knowledge (SoK) papers that evaluate, systematize, and
contextualize existing knowledge. Suitable papers are those that provide an
important new viewpoint on an established, major ICN research area, support
or challenge long-held beliefs in such an area with compelling evidence, or
present a convincing, comprehensive new taxonomy of such an area. Survey
papers without such insights are not appropriate and may be rejected
without full review. Submissions will be distinguished by the prefix “SoK:”
in the title.
• Design and implementation of global and local information-centric
approaches, such as named-data, publish-subscribe, and
distribution-oriented systems, including domain-specific designs
• Namespace management approaches, case studies, and empirical evaluation
campaigns
• Security including identity bootstrapping, confidentiality and access
control, authentication, and non-repudiation, as well as infrastructure
resilience
• Privacy of consumers and producers of content objects
• Routing, forwarding, and caching for ICN
• Policing, QoS, multimedia transport, and adaptive network functions in ICN
• ICN solutions supporting mobile or constrained environments including 5G
and network slicing, vehicular networking, autonomous driving, and
machine-to-machine communication
• ICN platforms allowing specification of computations on data, and
orchestration of such computations, including named computing functions at
the network edge
• ICN solutions for integrating big data platforms and machine learning
frameworks
• Virtualization, operation, and orchestration of named network resources
including forwarding, storage, computation, and the distributed Web
• ICN network management, e.g., monitoring and fault diagnosis
• Software design and architectures to support ICN including testing and
verification
• Experiences with application of information-centric networking and
computation in various domains such as Internet-of-things,. edge computing,
and social media.
• Measurement and analysis of ICN protocols, applications, and infrastructure
• ICN implementation approaches based on software-defined networking (SDN),
network function virtualization (NFV), or other emerging technologies
• Implementation challenges and experiences: line speed caching, routing
scalability, congestion control, network management at scale, zeroconf
bootstrapping and operation
• Approaches to coexistence/evolution of information-centric and
host-centric networking, including IP-based protocols in support of
information-centric operations
• Incentives, money flow, and other socio technical aspects of
information-centric networking
SUBMISSION DETAILS
The conference solicits both full and short papers. Submissions will be
reviewed through a double-blind process, and evaluated on the basis of
intellectual merit, originality, importance of contribution to the field,
soundness and strength of evaluation (for full papers), quality and clarity
of presentation, and appropriate comparison to related work.
Full papers may be up to 10 pages in length, excluding references,
following the ACM SIGCOMM
format<https://github.com/conference-websites/acmart-sigproc-template/>
(10pt font, sigconf option for acmart style), and should convey the results
of mature research. Short papers may be up to 6 pages in length, excluding
references.
Short papers should illustrate important challenges or promising new lines
of research in the realm of ICN, either through the presentation of
illuminating early research results or through the vehicle of a
well-reasoned and thought-provoking position statement; vision papers must
be submitted as short papers. Short papers will be evaluated primarily on
their ability to contribute to the future evolution of ICN research in
light of the goals described above.
SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
Register and submit your paper by the deadline in the conference submission
site (HotCRP)<https://icn21.hotcrp.com/paper/new>..
If your paper is accepted, we will provide further information for the
camera-ready version.
If you have any questions about submitting papers to ICN 2021, or encounter
problems with the paper submission site, contact the TPC chairs before the
deadline.
SUBMISSION COMPLIANCE
Papers submitted for consideration must not have been already published
elsewhere and must not be under review or submitted for review elsewhere
during the consideration period. Specifically, authors are required to
adhere to the ACM Policy and Procedures on
Plagiarism<http://www.acm.org/publications/policies/plagiarism_policy> and
the ACM Policy on Prior Publication and Simultaneous
Submissions<http://www.acm.org/publications/policies/sim_submissions>.
Like other conferences and journals, ICN prohibits violation of the above
ACM Policies and may take action against authors who violate them. In some
cases, the program committee may share information about submitted papers
with other conference chairs and journal editors to ensure the compliance
of papers under consideration. If the TPC discovers a violation of these
principles, sanctions may include, but are not limited to, contacting the
institutions of the authors and publicizing the details of the case.
ICN will review extended versions of previously-published short preliminary
papers (such as workshop papers) in accordance with published ACM
SIGCOMM<http://www.sigcomm.org/about/policies/frequently-asked-questions-faq/>
policies. Papers accompanied by nondisclosure agreement requests will not
be considered.

IEEE ICNP 2021 Call for Papers
ICNP, the IEEE International Conference on Network Protocols, is the
premier conference covering all aspects of network protocol research,
including design, analysis, specification, verification, implementation,
and performance. ICNP 2021 will be held in Dallas, Texas, from November
2-5, 2021.
Website: https://icnp21.cs.ucr.edu/
Important Dates
- Title/Abstract registration: May 17, 2021 (8:00 p.m. EDT)
- Full paper submission: May 24, 2021 (8:00 p.m. EDT)
- Notification of acceptance: August 3, 2021
- Camera ready version: August 24, 2021
Scope
The conference is soliciting paper submissions with significant research
contributions to the field of network protocol research. Both experimental
studies as well as formal investigations are equally welcome. Topics
traditionally of interest include, but are not limited to:
- All aspects of network protocol research including design, specification,
verification, implementation, measurement, testing, and analysis.
- Protocols for wireless networks, cellular networks, software-defined
networks, data center networks, social networks, sensor networks,
vehicularnetworks, and Internet of Things.
- Domain-specific solutions, including protocols for network security,
routing, user privacy, and network management.
- Network protocols meet AI/ML, e.g., application of AI/Machine Learning to
improve network protocols and operations; networking and protocols
forimproving the performance of AI/Machine Learning systems.
- Contributions to network architecture, e.g., algorithms and protocols for
network virtualization or future Internet architectures.
- Contributions to other areas of data communications to the extent that
they articulate a strong connection to network protocols, for example by
discussing potential implications on the design or performance of
certaintypes of network protocols.
Authors who are unsure whether or not their submissions might fit the scope
of the conference are welcome to contact the Program Committee co-Chairs.
Paper Formatting
Paper submissions should adhere to the IEEE Conference formatting
requirements using the templates available here, and should not exceed 10
pages excluding references. It is the authors' responsibility to produce
readable submissions that comply with the formatting constraints. Violating
theformatting requirements to squeeze in additional materials will result
in a submission being returned without being reviewed.
Submission and Anonymity Policy
Papers submitted to the conference will be reviewed through a double-blind
review process, where the identities of the authors are withheld from the
reviewers (and that of the reviewers from the authors). Achieving thisgoal
requires some care to, on the one hand, preserve the anonymity of your
submission, and on the other hand ensuring proper coverage of relatedpast
work, including your own. While this requirement may seem challenging, the
few basic steps listed below will go a long way towards achievingthe
desired outcome:
- Remove all authors' identifiers, e.g., names, emails, and
affiliations,from the title page.
- Remove acknowledgments of and identifiers of funding sources.
- Use anonymous names for your files, as source file names are often
embedded in the final output you generate, and therefore accessible as
comments.
- When referring to your own related work, refer to it in the third person
as you would with any other related work by another author.
Besides anonymizing your submission, double-blind reviewing also imposes
additional requirements on both authors and reviewers. Specifically, while
it is permissible for authors to give local talks on their work and release
their paper on a non-peer-reviewed location, e.g., an institutional
repository or even arXiv, care should be exercised to limit public exposure
as much as possible. This requirement includes refraining from advertising
the work on mailing lists and public forums, and in general limitingas much
as possible the odds that program committee members be exposed to the work
and the authors’ identity. Conversely, program committee members will be
advised to neither actively seek to “reverse engineer” the authors’
identity, nor to directly share with other program committee members any
such information they may have acquired. All questions regarding possible
breaches of the anonymity covenantthat underlies the double-blind review
process will be adjudicated by the Program Committee co-Chairs.
All papers will be provisionally accepted and the final acceptance of
anypaper will be subject to shepherding by a member of the program committee.
Submission and Plagiarism Policy
Papers must present original contributions and can neither be previously
published nor under review by another conference or journal. Papers
containing plagiarized materials will be subject to the IEEE plagiarism
policyand possible penalties and will be rejected without being reviewed.
Best Paper Award and Fast-Track Journal Publication
One of the accepted papers will be selected for the Best Paper award,
andwill be fast tracked to the IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking, with a
streamlined journal review process.
Presentation and Registration Requirements
IEEE ICNP requires that at least one of the authors of any accepted
papermust register for the conference at the full rate and be available to
present the paper at the conference. While we anticipate ICNP 2021 will be
held physically in-person in Dallas, TX, in the unlikely event that the
conference is held virtually or partially virtually due to health
considerations, we will accommodate requests by authors to present papers
remotely, without physical attendance, and subsequently to include the
paper in the conference proceedings and in IEEE Xplore. However, any paper
that isnot presented by an author of the paper, either in-person or
remotely, will be withdrawn from the proceedings and thus from IEEE Xplore.
At leastone author from each accepted paper will be expected to register at
the full rate whether presenting remotely or in person.
