*** Call for Papers ***
The evolution of communications, networking and digital infrastructures is
driving the digitalization of our society. The immense energy consumption of
digital infrastructures and broader implications on the environment trigger the
need to embed the sustainability paradigm into the technological development.
Sustainable evolution of these technologies is triggered by the influence of
computer science and telecommunication, the massive deployment of mobile
communications and optics, the success of collaborative networking and social
networks, the ever-increasing speed and flexibility of new communication
technologies, networks, user devices, and applications, and the ever-changing
operational challenges arising from these developments.
ITC 36 solicits original contributions that address the latest changes and
developments in design, modelling, measurement, and performance evaluation of
communication systems, networks, and services. The objectives in these areas
include, among others, energy-efficiency and sustainable IT, network security
and privacy, QoS and QoE, and resilience.
ITC 36 covers topics in the areas of:

SCOPE AND OVERVIEW
------------------
IEEE WoWMoM 2025 is soliciting original and previously unpublished papers
addressing research challenges and advances in the areas of wireless,
mobile, and multimedia networking as well as ubiquitous and pervasive
systems and applications. Wireless networking technologies are continuously

PAPER SUBMISSION AND PUBLICATION
--------------------------------
Authors are invited to submit papers describing original, previously
unpublished work not currently under review by another conference,
workshop, or journal. Authors must make a good-faith effort to anonymize
their submissions. Specifically, the authors should not identify themselves
in any content within the paper either directly or indirectly (e.g.,
through references). Where relevant, authors must refer to their previous
work in the third person and write as if it was written by a third party.
However, authors should ensure that any anonymization of their work is not
destructive. For instance, the omission of references to papers just
because they are the authors' previous work should be avoided, as this
could prevent reviewers from finding a related paper for the purpose of the
review. Submissions violating anonymization rules will not be considered
for review.
Although submission is double-blind, non-anonymous preprints (on arXiv or
other preprint servers) will not lead to the rejection of your paper.
Reviewers will be instructed not to actively look for such preprints before
completing a first read of your paper, but encountering them will not
constitute a conflict of interest.
Only PDF files will be accepted for the review process, and all submissions
must be made electronically through EDAS.
Authors can submit regular or work-in-progress papers (appropriate category
to be selected upon submission).
REGULAR PAPERS
--------------
Regular papers may be up to 10 pages in length (including figures and
references), formatted in two-column IEEE conference style with a font size
of 10 points or greater. See IEEE Manuscript Templates for Conference
Proceedings.
WORK IN PROGRESS PAPERS
-----------------------
WIP (Work-in-progress) papers provide a peer-reviewed forum for
late-breaking or preliminary research results, giving an opportunity for
researchers and practitioners to present and demonstrate their recent
research and obtain feedback from their peers in a poster session.
Work-in-progress papers may be up to 4 pages in length (including figures
and references) and must have the prefix "WIP:" in the paper's title.
IMPORTANT DATES
---------------
Papers due: November 22, 2024
Acceptance notification: February 12, 2025
ACCEPTED PAPERS
---------------
An author of an accepted paper is required to register for the conference
at the full (member or non-member) rate. The paper must be presented by an
author of that paper at the conference. Exceptions can be granted if
compelling reasons are sent to the TPC Co-Chairs with a written request
indicating an adequate substitute presenter before the conference. Accepted
papers (both regular and WIP) will be included in the proceedings of IEEE
WoWMoM 2025 which will be published through the IEEE Xplore digital library.
All conference proceedings must meet IEEE's quality standards, and IEEE
reserves the right not to publish any proceedings that do not meet these
standards. Furthermore, IEEE reserves the right to remove papers from IEEE
Xplore that are not presented at the conference, for unjustified reasons.
BEST PAPER AWARD
----------------
All accepted regular papers will be considered for the Best Paper Award. A
committee will select three best paper candidates based on the reviews
received and also the quality of presentation. The winner will be announced
during the conference. For any additional information, please contact the

============================================================================================================
*Scope and Motivation *
The Internet of Things (IoT) has revolutionized the domains of living,
working, and manufacturing, gaining considerable traction in both
industrial and academic sectors. Driven by escalating connectivity and
relentless miniaturization of computers and smart devices as well as the
Artificial Intelligence (AI), IoT is poised to generate vast amounts of
data, offering ample opportunities for analysis to uncover hidden patterns,
correlations, and profound insights in 5G and future 6G. In the context of
industrial settings (Industry 4.0), smart spaces (buildings, homes, etc.),
and connected vehicles, service requirements emphasize heightened
reliability, scalability, reduced latency and energy. To address these
demands, various technologies such as BLE, Zigbee, WirelessHART, IEEE Std
802.15.4 TSCH, 6TiSCH, LPWAN (LoRa, Sigfox, NB-IoT, LTE-M) have emerged.
Current 5G and future 6G networks provide augmented data rates and
ultra-low latency communication, catering to critical IoT applications
requiring unparalleled reliability. Meeting the anticipated demands of high
traffic, low latency, and seamless coverage in IoT and Machine-to-Machine
(M2M) communications necessitates radical shifts in architectural and
communication solutions. The development of Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTNs)
composed by satellites and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) enables the
connection of IoT devices in remote areas. The Fog/Edge-to-thing continuum
has been widely studied to alleviate the burden on centralized IoT data
processing and storage networks, ensuring closer processing proximity to
devices. Recently, the development of AI, especially the Large Language
Models (LLM), has been expected to drive the intelligent operation and
management of IoT. Thus, the IoT and Sensor Networks Symposium at IEEE ICC
2025 will provide a forum that brings together scientists and researchers
to present their cutting-edge innovations in all aspects of the field.

> The aim of this workshop is to bring together practitioners and researchers from both academia and industry in order to have a forum for discussions and technical presentations on the broad area of robot swarms and wireless networks. The timeliness and relevance of the topics addressed by the workshop are implicitly demonstrated by the pervasive diffusion on the market of ground and aerial robots with sensing and autonomous mobility capabilities.
>
>
>
> In order to fully unlock such potential, and also to foster the deployment of novel applications involving the large-scale use of mobile ground and aerial devices with the ability of swarm computing, some fundamental research issues must be addressed, such as networked mobility and communication control, energy efficiency in swarm networks, Quality of Service in the swarm and system security.
>
>
>
> The workshop focuses both on application aspects, e.g. by identifying novel use-cases that might likely translate into new directions for research and investments from industries, and on methodological aspects, e.g. how to overcome networking and control issues tackling the practical implementation of autonomous vehicles and robot networks.
