Call for Papers - WONS 2025 - Last call for the extended deadline
September 14!
*****************************************************************************************
The 20th Wireless On-demand Network systems and Services Conference (WONS 2025)
January 27 - 29, 2025
Hintertux, Zillertal, Tyrol, Austria
https://2025.wons-conference.org/
*****************************************************************************************
Wireless on-demand network systems and services have become mainstream
technologies that
shape the networked world of the future. Different types of wireless LANs,
both sub-6 GHz
and in higher frequency bands, as well as such established technologies as
Bluetooth LE,
LTE-Direct, LTE ProSE, NR sidelink, NFC, and optical links are the
cornerstone of
networking paradigms including NextG cellular, mesh and sensor networks,
cloud networks,
vehicular networks, non-terrestrial networks, and in-body networks.
The challenges of this exciting research field are numerous. These include
providing
robust services in highly dynamic, mobile, and extreme environments, how to
minimize
energy demands or zero out battery usage in favor of renewable energy
sources, how to
smartly blend multiple wireless technologies available to a network node
(including
across radically different bands), and how to make wireless on-demand
networks and
services self-configurable, adaptive, self-organizing, and self-healing in
a variety
of different context, each exhibiting its own peculiar constraints.
IFIP WONS, now at its tenth edition, has established itself as a
high-quality forum
to address the above and related challenges. WONS 2025 aims to continue
providing a
global platform for rich interactions between experts in their fields,
discussing
innovative contributions in a stimulating environment.
This announcement solicits original contributions of high-quality research
providing
novel insights on all aspects of wireless on-demand networks and systems.
Topics of interest comprise, but are not limited to:
* 5G and 6G networks
* Autonomous and Self-Driving Networks
* Cloud/edge/fog computing and networking
* Cognitive radio networks

Dear All,
We invite you to submit your work in our symposium titled "Next-Generation
Networking and Internet" IEEE ComSoc Flagship Conference
*IEEE International Conference on Communications*
*8–12 June 2025 // Montreal, Canada*
===============================================================================================================================
*Scope and Motivation*
Recent years are witnessing unprecedented advances in next generation
Internet-networking research that has to deal with many innovations
triggered by high-performance computing, programmable network equipment,
and computing harvesting next generation services. Thanks to the continuous
enhancements in computing processor and interface architectures,
communication networks can now handle network functions implemented as
virtualized machines or docker containers making use of robust software
elements. Many salient issues are affecting next-generation networks, such
as, network densification, network slicing, mobile cloud computing,
mobility management, cross-layer activities, self-organization, security,
performance predictability, and energy efficiency operations. Networks,
applications, and clouds control layers can leverage intelligent
decision-making solutions to target full automation in the Internet and
next-generation service delivery. In addition, quantum networking, with its
vast amounts of computing power, is emerging and that opens new and many
possibilities. These trends greatly affect the next-generation broadband
wireless networks, such as their spectrum efficiency, energy efficiency,
and mobility management. The Next Generation Networking and Internet (NGNI)
Symposium at IEEE ICC 2025 aims at consolidating and disseminating the
latest developments and advances in these emerging focus areas. This
symposium invites participation from academic, industry, and government
researchers working in the broad area of next-generation networking and
Internet, including architectures, communication protocols, modelling,
measurements, and applications. The NGNI Symposium will provide a forum for
academic, industry, and government researchers to get together and present
a latest snapshot of their cutting-edge research, and foster technical
debate on future directions in this exciting area.

the regular conference proceedings. At least one author of every accepted
demonstration or poster abstract is required to register and attend the
conference.
***Poster Abstracts ***
We welcome all topics that align with the SenSys main conference. Poster
abstracts should report on research work where at least some preliminary
results are available, but they need not necessarily describe completed
work. An easel will be provided for all posters. All poster abstract
submissions must strictly adhere to the formatting guidelines specified below.
***Demo Abstracts ***
Demo abstracts should describe both the technology being showcased as well
as the user experience of the demo. All demo abstract submissions must
strictly adhere to the formatting guidelines specified below. Tables,
power, and wireless connectivity will be provided. If a demo requires
additional special arrangements, please describe them clearly in your
submission using a separate third page (not part of the technical content
of the abstract).
***Submission and Formatting Instructions***
Abstract submissions should be no more than 2 pages and must follow a
double-column format. All figures, appendices, and references must fit
within this limit. Your submission must be in PDF format with all fonts
embedded, and be formatted according to the official ACM Proceedings

Recent years are witnessing unprecedented advances in next generation
Internet-networking research that has to deal with many innovations
triggered by high-performance computing, programmable network equipment,
and computing harvesting next generation services. Thanks to the continuous
enhancements in computing processor and interface architectures,
communication networks can now handle network functions implemented as
virtualized machines or docker containers making use of robust software
elements. Many salient issues are affecting next-generation networks, such
as, network densification, network slicing, mobile cloud computing,
mobility management, cross-layer activities, self-organization, security,
performance predictability, and energy efficiency operations. Networks,
applications, and clouds control layers can leverage intelligent
decision-making solutions to target full automation in the Internet and
next-generation service delivery. In addition, quantum networking, with its
vast amounts of computing power, is emerging and that opens new and many
possibilities. These trends greatly affect the next-generation broadband
wireless networks, such as their spectrum efficiency, energy efficiency,
and mobility management. The Next Generation Networking and Internet (NGNI)
Symposium at IEEE ICC 2025 aims at consolidating and disseminating the
latest developments and advances in these emerging focus areas. This
symposium invites participation from academic, industry, and government
researchers working in the broad area of next-generation networking and
Internet, including architectures, communication protocols, modelling,

IEEE JSAC Special Issue on Co-design of Communication, Computing, and
Control in Industrial Cyber-Physical Systems
Call for Papers
-------------------
Cloud-Fog Automation is a newly proposed digitalized industrial automation
architecture enabled by next-generation communications, which represents a
fundamental paradigm shift from the traditional ISA-95 model. The
overarching goal is to accelerate the convergence and synergy of
communications, computing, and control towards next-generation industrial
cyber-physical systems. It is a network-centric architecture, where cloud
and fog technologies are leveraged collaboratively to achieve determinism
in connectivity, networked computing, and intelligent networked control.
Consequently, industrial applications can be realized independent of
vendor-specific hardware and software, and further provided as a service
with varying degrees of technical and infrastructural requirements,
translating into significant business benefits. With the deployment of new
wireless technologies to empower almost-deterministic ultra-reliable
low-latency communications, a joint design of optimal control and resource
management techniques is emerging for time-critical industrial
cyber-physical systems, and it is also imperative that functional safety
and security of such systems are not compromised. Another focus will be on
system-wide/application-level performance, driven by “goal-oriented
communication” in the underlying communication technologies. There are
currently many open research challenges to enable Cloud-Fog Automation,
therefore, a deliberate rethink and research in co-designing and
synergizing communications, computing, and control is required.
Specifically, research in deterministic industrial networking, computing
virtualization, and networked control/estimation for time-sensitive
cyber-physical systems will open many potential avenues for novel
applications, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI)-empowered digital twins,
industrial robots, virtual and augmented reality in advanced manufacturing,
and so forth.
This Special Issue aims to provide a forum for the latest advances in
industrial communications, computing and control co-design, and endeavors
to promote research, innovations, and applications to bridge the gap
between theory and applications. We solicit high-quality original research
papers on topics including, but not limited to:
- Novel design metrics and optimization methodologies for communication,
computing, and control co-design in next-generation industrial
cyber-physical systems with Cloud-Fog Automation
- Co-design of new industrial wireless technologies with industrial control
systems and computing frameworks using cross-layer optimization techniques
- Co-design of network softwarization architectures with control and
computing requirements embedded for interoperability, heterogeneity,
reproducibility and scalability
- Co-design of virtualization technologies tightly coupled with
communication stacks and control applications using optimal network
scheduling and intelligent control algorithms
- Co-design of communication and computing approaches for ensuring
functional safety and creating cyber-secure control systems
- Co-design of communication, computing, and control paradigms for
efficient resource orchestration, sharing, service provisioning and management
- Clean-slate designs of wireless networked control systems that are
natively supported by industrial communications and computing architectures
with robust performance
- Tight integration of security and privacy-preserving solutions across
communications, computing, and control domains for system integrity

CALL FOR TECHNICAL PAPERS
---------------------------
The Web of Things (WoT) envisions semantic interoperability by re-using
well-accepted standards and technologies that have enabled the World Wide
Web (WWW). Unlike stack-oriented solutions (e.g., ZigBee), WoT proposes to
achieve system interoperability at the application layer by abstracting
from the sensing and communication technologies: in a rough approximation,
Things are represented using Web technologies and interactions with Things
are mapped to uniform RESTful concepts.
This workshop invites original research articles and review articles that
focus on the Web of Things and interoperability challenges in IoT scenarios.
