*Call for Papers for MobiHoc 2013*
July 29 to Aug 01 2013
Bangalore India
ACM MobiHoc is the premier international symposium dedicated to
addressing challenges emerging from wireless ad hoc networking and
computing. With its highly selective technical program, the symposium
will bring together researchers and practitioners from a broad
spectrum of wireless networking research to present the most
up-to-date results and achievements in the field.
We invite paper submissions on mobile ad hoc networks, wireless sensor
networks, wireless mesh networks, vehicular networks, and ad hoc
computing systems, with the main focus being on issues at and above
the MAC layer. Physical layer papers are also welcome, provided that
they also address cross-layer networking issues. Areas of interest
include, but are not limited to the following:
- *Applications and middleware support*
- *Transport, network, and MAC protocols*
- *Energy efficiency*
- *Location discovery*
- *Cross-layer design and control*
- *Network resilience, fault-tolerance, and reliability*
- *Functional computation and data aggregation*
- *Modeling and performance analysis*
- *Scaling laws and fundamental limits*
- *Network coding*
- *Opportunistic and delay-tolerant networks*
- *Vehicular networks*
- *Cognitive radio networks*
- *Distributed sensing, actuation, control, and coordination*
- *Distributed social networks and self organization*
- *Trust, security and privacy*
- *System design and testbeds*
- *Measurements from experimental systems*
The symposium encourages the submission of foundational studies,
including theoretical explorations as well as novel architectures and
protocols that identify new challenges in the network design,
innovative services, and applications that may stimulate far-reaching
future research.
This year's symposium will assign a *Best Paper Award* among all the
papers submitted to the conference.
Original Paper Submission Guidelines
All submissions will be handled electronically and must be in PDF
format. Paper submissions for regular papers must be limited to *10
pages* (US letter size, 8.5 x 11 inches) including text, figures and
references. The font size must be at least *10 points*. Accepted
papers will be published in the symposium proceedings. All submitted
papers would be judged based on their quality through double-blind
reviewing, where the identities of the authors are withheld from the
reviewers. *Authors' names must NOT appear in the paper or in the PDF
file.* Submitted papers must not be currently under review for any
other publication. Before submitting your paper, please check the
description of the conference scope. Instructions on paper submission
are available on the symposium webpage
(http://www.sigmobile.org/mobihoc/2013/). Note that the *margin must be
1 inch* on all sides. Please direct any questions about the paper
submission process to the Program Co-Chairs.
*Paper Submission Site <http://edas.info/newPaper.php?c=13245&track=25201>*
*General Co-Chair:* A. Chockalingam and D. Manjunath

CFP for the 2nd IEEE International Workshop on
Energy Harvesting, Measurement and Evaluation for Wireless
Communications (EHMEWC),
to be held in conjunction with
IEEE ICC'13
Budapest, Hungary, June 9th to 13th, 2013

==========================================================================
Abstract Registration: Jan 4th 2013
Paper Submission: Jan 11th 2013
Author Notification: Feb 22nd 2013
Camera Ready Paper: Mar 8th 2013
==========================================================================
Energy Harvesting Communications (EHC) offers the tantalizing
possibility of perpetual operation, as the communicating nodes only use
the energy harvested from their environment for processing and
communication. However, the energy harvesting process may be sporadic,
due to which nodes may temporarily run out of energy. Algorithms and
protocols need to be designed that are robust to the sporadic and
possibly limited energy resources available for sensing and communication.
Energy efficiency (EE) is a topic of very active research in wireless
communications and networking. However, realistic evaluations in
real-world deployments are challenging and time consuming. Often,
different simplifying assumptions are made, which makes the results (a)
applicable only in specific scenarios, and (b) hard to compare across
literature. There is thus a need to come up with standardized tools for
benchmarking, and to develop absolute yardsticks against which all
schemes that strive to improve the EE of communications can be evaluated
and compared. With the recent advances in simulator tools as well as an
increasing number of testbeds, the next step in evaluating energy
efficiency is now practicable: realistic evaluations of energy
efficiency for wireless systems, wireless sensor networks and mobile
systems.
This workshop aims to bring together academic experts and industrial
researchers interested in the design and development of EHC, realistic
evaluations of the EE and energy consumption of architectures and
protocols, and novel applications in wireless communications and
networks. It will create a forum for researchers to share results and
collectively identify design principles for optimizing the performance
of EHC and EE evaluations.
Topics include (but are not limited to):
* Fundamental information theoretic limits of EHC
* Harvesting-Aware MAC and routing protocols
* Cooperative communications and relaying using EHC
* Quality of Service in EHC systems
* Lifetime enhancement of conventional networks using EHC
* Novel applications of EHC
* Realistic design and evaluation of EE protocols in wireless networks
* Implementations, Testbeds and Experimental results
* Energy measurement methodologies and concepts
* Experiences and lessons learned from real-world EE evaluations

The IEEE PerCom International Workshop on the Impact of Human Mobility
on Pervasive Systems and Applications (PerMoby 2013)
http://vecchio.iet.unipi.it/permoby
in conjunction with PerCom 2013 (http://www.percom.org)
March 18-22, San Diego, USA
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
CALL FOR PAPERS
The key components of many pervasive systems and applications are already
deployed in the form of ubiquitous commercial products carried by humans.
Human mobility makes it possible for such key components to interact,
promoting cooperation and sharing of content, services and resources.
Smartphones, tablet PCs, and other personal devices act as mobile computing
elements able to gather information about the surrounding environment
according to the mobility of users. In other situations these devices
operate as mobile nodes of the computing and/or networking infrastructure,
where interaction and communication occur opportunistically.
The goal of PerMoby is to explore the impact of human mobility on the
achievement of the pervasive computing vision. The focus is on pervasive
applications, systems, and protocols where mobility plays an active role
in achieving the end goals.
Original papers addressing both theoretical and practical aspects of
human-centric applications and systems are solicited. Papers describing
prototype implementations and deployment of such applications and systems
are particularly welcome. The submission of papers on controversial issues
is also encouraged. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
- pervasive systems and applications based on (or influenced by) human
mobility
- mobile phone sensing applications and systems
- opportunistic and participatory sensing, and anything in between
- opportunistic computing
- pervasive systems with humans in the loop
- wearable sensing systems
- mobility models
- distributed computing approaches that rely on human mobility
- impact of human mobility on wireless communication
- green pervasive applications that leverage human mobility
- mobility aware protocols
- opportunistic networking
- pervasive social networking
PUBLICATION AND INDEXING
Papers are published in the combined proceedings of the IEEE PerCom
Workshops and will appear on IEEExplore.
According to Google’s metrics, such proceedings are characterised by
high values of h5 index and h5-median index, respectively equal to 19 and
33. This makes the IEEE PerCom Workshops one of the publication venues
with higher visibility and impact in the area of pervasive computing.
In the last years, the IEEE PerCom Workshops proceedings have always been
indexed by Scopus. Besides appearing within the database, a paper that
is published in the IEEE PerCom Workshops is both a “source” and a
“destination” for the Scopus citation managing system (and thus it
contributes to the author’s h-index and citation count, as computed
by Scopus).
PAPER SUBMISSION
Papers should contain original material and should not be previously
published or currently submitted for consideration elsewhere. Manuscripts
are limited to a maximum of 6 pages in IEEE conference format. At least
one author of each accepted paper must register and attend the workshop
to present the paper. There is no workshop-only registration. An oral
presentation at the workshop is strictly required. Failure to present
the paper at the workshop will result in the withdrawal of the paper
from the proceedings as well as from IEEE Xplore. Paper submission will
be via EDAS (further details will be available on the workshop website).

CALL FOR PAPERS
**** ACM/IEEE ICCPS 2013 ****
Philadelphia, USA
April 8-11, 2013
http://cesg.tamu.edu/iccps2013/
Cyber-physical systems are systems with a coupling of the cyber aspects
of computing and communications with the physical aspects of dynamics
and engineering that must abide by the laws of physics.
The objective of ICCPS 2013, the 4th ACM/IEEE International Conference
on Cyber-Physical Systems, is to serve as a single-track forum for
reporting advances in all aspects of cyber-physical systems, including
but not limited to theory, tools, applications, systems, and testbeds.
Examples of theoretical advances encompassed by this conference include
but are not limited to control, real-time, hybrid systems, and sensor
networks. Similarly, examples of applications include transportation,
energy, water, medical, and robotic systems, and other challenges for
the twenty-first century.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Submissions must report results from original research and not have been
submitted to or published in other conferences or journals. Submissions
must be a maximum of 10 pages, in 2-column format, and use font sizes of
no less than 10 pt. Quality of the paper is the primary consideration,
and is not synonymous with length. The length of a submission should be
tuned to the nature of the topic addressed.
Each submission will be reviewed using a peer-review process by the
ICCPS 2013 Program Committee. The review process will be typical of
high-quality IEEE and ACM conferences. Papers that are clearly not
appropriate whether in quality or scope will receive an early decision.
