CALL FOR PAPERS
The advancement in sensing, embedded computing, and wireless
communication has accelerated the progress of adopting sensor networks
to form Body Area Networks (BodyNets).
BodyNets integrate and deploy wireless sensors, RFID tags, and other
pervasive devices within and around human bodies for constructing
diverse and practical systems for
physiological monitoring, human computer interaction, and provision of
entertainment. This conference will explore and explain the scope and
challenges of designing,
building, and deploying BodyNets. In this regard, the conference aims to
establish a forum to exchange ideas, discuss practices, raise awareness,
and share experiences
among researchers and practitioners in the field of computer science,
electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, medicine, and other
disciplines in both academia
and industry. This conference also allows authors to present new and
emerging trends to address the technical, social, system and application
issues related to BodyNets.
The Conference continues its tradition of being the premier forum for
presentation of results on cutting-edge research in BodyNets. While the
mission of the conference is
to share novel basic research ideas as well as experimental applications
in the BodyNets area in addition to identifying new directions for
future research and development
the new scientific topics such as nano communication networks,
bio-inspired networks, molecular networks, etc. will be considered.
BodyNets 2012 will give researchers a
unique opportunity to share their perspectives with others interested in
the various aspects from molecular to micro level communication to novel
applications in medicine, gaming to automobile industry. The conference
consists of four symposia that cover a broad range of research aspects.
In addition, the program will include three outstanding keynote speakers
from academia and industry. A panel session on “Nano communications
networks: from theory to practical applications” and an industrial track
will surely provoke thoughtful discussions. There will also be two
tutorials given free of charge to all BodyNets 2012 attendees. We hope
that the conference proceedings will serve as a valuable reference to
researchers and developers in the area.

in conjunction with IEEE iThings, IEEE/ACM GreenCom, IEEE CPSCOm
at Besancon, France,
September 11th-14th, 2012
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The WSN4ITS workshop aims at sharing theoretical, experimental and
operational results in the development of wireless sensors for intelligent
transport systems. In particular, both wireless sensors operating in
relation with transportation systems are instrumental in the development of
applications, including e.g., parking monitoring, real-time traffic
information, routing, warning as well as decision-making aided
transportation. The lesson learned constructing such applications is
that transport systems are particularly exposed to environmental
perturbations, unreliable wireless medium of communication, high
mobility-driven instability. This poses extraordinary challenges to
both the designers and the research community who attempt to provide
sensor-enabled transportation systems as a first upon advanced urban,
transport planning & smart cities.
Novel papers are invited from both academic and industrial research
environments, describing theoretical or empirical results as well as
in-depth user studies on transport networks and sensor topics together
towards smart cities, including but not limited to:
* Wireless sensors and actuators for enhanced transportation,
* Transport, space planning and optimization,
* Green and smart cities, multi-modal and green transportation,
* Parking monitoring and traffic handling,
* Simulation, real-world testbeds and commercial experiences,
* Wireless communication, routing, aggregating,
* Smart Phone and driver assistance.
Authors are invited to submit full papers (max. 6 pages) or short papers

Dear Colleagues,
you are cordially invited to contribute to the following call for paper.Should you require further information please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind regards,Juha, Waltenegus, and Vincenzo.
Advances in Software Engineering - Special Issue onSelf-* Parallel and Distributed Systems
Call for papers (PDF: http://downloads.hindawi.com/journals/ase/si/479307.pdf,HTML: http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ase/si/479307/cfp/)
Autonomic computing has been identified as a promising solution to cope with the overwhelming complexity in modern and next-generation computer systems. In particular, the self-* properties (self-configuration, self-optimization, self-healing and self-protection) outline the fundamental features of an autonomic computing system. Parallel and distributed systems, a computing domain with great applicability in a variety of industrial and domestic contexts, rely on self-* software to manage a large number of heterogeneous computation, communication, and storage resources. The challenges of energy efficiency, dependability and security are of particular interest.
This special issue addresses the software aspects of the whole design and operational process and system architecture of self-* parallel and distributed systems. We welcome studies on all forms of software, including application software and system software. The relevant scope of parallel and distributed systems widely covers, but is not limited to, embedded systems, large-scale networks, cyber-physical systems (CPS), cloud-computing etc. The systems under focus should integrate software with clear and novel self-* features to be qualified for acceptance. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Model-driven engineering of self-* distributed systems
- Robust design of self-* parallel and distributed systems
- Software design and implementation for energy-awareness
- Energy-awareness in self-organizing systems such as in cluster-based systems and cloud computing
- Real-time aspects, especially in conjunction with other conflicting design goals
- Evolvability aspects
- Resilience of autonomic distributed and parallel systems
- Self-healing and protection for dependable and secure systems
- Software for interoperable heterogeneous networked systems
- Specification and modeling languages for self-* properties
- Formal validation and verification
- Software testing
- Parallel and distributed debugging
- Application and industrial case studies
- Retrospective, Review and Future Perspectives
Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal's Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ase/guidelines.html. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/ according to the following timetable:
Manuscript Due: June 8, 2012First round of reviews: August 31, 2012Publication date: October 26, 2012
