Dear Colleagues,
Apologies for multiple posting!
The IEEE Consumer Communications and Networking Conference (CCNC),
sponsored by the IEEE Communications Society, is a major annual
international conference. Taking advantage of its co-location with the
International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which is the world's largest
tradeshow on consumer technology, CCNC is organized with the objective of
bringing together researchers, developers, and practitioners from academia
and industry working in all areas of consumer communications and networking
technologies. CCNC 2025 will feature high-quality keynotes, plenary talks,
technical and industry papers, panels, tutorials, and demonstrations. In
addition, the CCNC 2025 Organization Committee invites members of the
research, development, and practitioner communities to submit Workshop and
Special Session proposals. Workshops provide a forum for people to discuss
areas of special interest with like-minded researchers and practitioners.
Special Sessions complement the main program with new or emerging topics
that are of particular interest to the consumer communications and
networking community and may also cut across and beyond disciplines
traditionally represented at CCNC. Research contributions are welcome in
all areas pertinent to consumer communications and networking, including:
Edge/Cloud Computing and Networking
Networking Solutions for Metaverse, Social Applications, Multimedia, and Games
Testbeds, Experimentation and Datasets for Communications and Networking
Wireless Communications: Fundamentals, PHY and Above

/Workshop: Dependable wireless 6G communication/
IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC2024-Fall)
7-10 October 2024 | Washington DC, USA//
//
*DESCRIPTION *
Digital transformation of the industrial processes together with the advent
of Industry 5.0 that emphasizes sustainability, resilience, and a
human-centric approach is expected to bring a radical change to the
manufacturing industry. At the same time, 6G as the next generation of
wireless technology is envisioned to intelligently interconnect humans and
machines from the physical world and their digital representations in the
virtualized digital world. Advancements in cloud and edge computing,
artificial intelligence, and robotics, also opens new dimensions in
revolutionizing these processes. Moreover, digital twinning of the physical
entities enables support for engineering, maintenance, reconfiguration, and
recycling of industrial automation systems. Accordingly, numerous visionary
use cases are expected to emerge requiring deterministic and dependable
communication capabilities. The challenge of bounded low-latency
communication is being addressed by standardization bodies such as IEEE
802.1, IETF DetNet, 3GPP time- sensitive communication, and industrial
alliances such as 5G-ACIA. Ultra-reliable and low-latency communication has
been an important aspect of 5G communication that enables the support for
determinism and integration with deterministic communication technologies
and will further be developed under the 6G vision. Innovation and
development are therefore needed in all supporting technologies.

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, HK
02nd – 06
th December 2024
https://hakiri.github.io/MIDD4DT-24/ <https://hakiri.github.io/MIDD4DT-24/>
Background and Motivation
Nowadays, the concept of Digital Twin (DT) is used in a wide variety of
domains such as manufacturing, healthcare, smart cities, smart agriculture,
smart grids, and mechanical engineering, to enhance the performance, enable
proactive maintenance to extend the physical system’s life, enhanced
productivity, and faster innovation with reduced costs. Typically, the
digital twin systems are generated and then synchronized using data flows
in both directions between the real-world physical components and their
virtual replica counterparts. Furthermore, a digital twin can enable
continuous prototyping, and testing on-demand, without interruption,
assuring and self-optimizing the forthcoming 5G network and beyond. It
creates virtual replicas of IoT devices in various application scenarios
and maintains a device twin for every connected device.
Furthermore, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) middleware,
service-oriented middleware, and many other middleware modernization
approaches are providing a Virtual Automation Bus (VAB) to offer end-to-end
connectivity between physical assets and the digital twin through many
heterogeneous communication protocols, brokers, and messaging services,
while ensuring interoperability among heterogeneous protocols and
facilitating cross-layer interaction with the digital twin through VAB.

## MOTIVATION AND RATIONALE
The diffusion of Online Social Networks (OSNs) has had a profound effect on
the way we interact and a deep impact on society and business. Social Media
have helped people to communicate, breaking down the geographical barriers
that restricted communication. Through social networks, virtual
communication, sharing of information, and community participation are
possible even among people in uncomfortable conditions. Today, Social Media
are one of the main parts of daily life by affecting sociality, but they
are also essential channels through which information travels faster than
ever. Analysis of OSN can help to foresee events to manage critical scenarios.
The rapid growth in popularity has opened new challenging problems
involving numerous computer science fields. These issues have implications
for social graph analysis, trust and security, and so on. Moreover, privacy
issues and the usage of mobile devices have opened new research fields in
the design of decentralized online social networks, which can be considered
one of the most important challenges. Furthermore, the current improvement
concerning the study and the proposal of new approaches for Social Networks
and Media involves not only complex network analysis, and, in particular,
the decentralization of social services, but also the introduction of
innovative technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Virtual/Mixed
Reality to ferry humankind towards the next generation Online Social
Networks. In particular, the metaverse is playing a crucial role in this
new generation of hyperconnected, gamified, and immersive social networking
platforms, and as a consequence the introduction of decentralization in
social platforms, thanks to blockchain technology, but in particular
through the Web3 and NFTs, as part of the Metaverse world.
The workshop targets researchers, doctoral students, people from industry
and other people interested in discussing, reflecting and networking on
central themes associated with the development and use of social networks.
Papers on both theoretical and design aspects of social networks are
welcomed, which describe and evaluate novel design methods and system
prototypes. The workshop also welcomes work-in-progress and position papers.

Dear Colleague,
On behalf of all the organizers, we are pleased to invite you to submit
your papers to the Workshop on Mobility in the Evolving Internet
Architecture (MobiArch), which will be held in conjunction with ACM MobiCom
from November 18-22, 2024, in Washington, D.C., USA.
https://mobiarch2024.github.io/Mobiarch2024/
<https://mobiarch2024.github.io/Mobiarch2024/>
Aim and Scope
The last two decades have witnessed an extremely fast evolution of network
technologies and an steep growth in mobile data traffic. According to the
latest edition of the Cisco Visual Networking Index (VNI), global mobile
data traffic is projected to increase nearly three-fold from 2020 to 2025,
reaching 184 exabytes per month by 2025. This growth is being fuelled by
factors such as the proliferation of mobile devices, the increasing
availability of high-speed mobile networks, and the growing adoption of
data-intensive mobile applications. This trend is coming along with
increased capabilities and intelligence of devices, hence offering great
opportunities for research innovation and development.
Globally, 5G network deployments are becoming generalized, providing higher
data speeds at low latency and enhanced throughput to handle more
simultaneous connections without causing disruptions when compared with
previous mobile generation. However, some issues and challenges have not
been fully addressed in 5G mobile networks and they are attracting further
research efforts like the emerging applications challenges that are pushing
the required quality of service to extreme levels, the mobile edge
computing issues for user mobility support in small cells, the tendency
towards Open and smart RAN enabling interoperable interfaces, RAN
virtualization and push embedded machine learning systems and artificial
intelligence back end modules for an enhanced RAN intelligence. These
challenges drive the need towards deep research on the next generation of
mobile Internet system, the 6G, that would tackle these challenges while
deliver new mobile services and defining the fundamental architectural
components for the next generation mobile Internet.
ACM MobiArch 2024 will continue to serve as a forum for discussing recent

BuildSys 2024 Call for Papers
Dear Lars,
We are delighted to invite you to submit your papers to the upcoming ACM
BuildSys 2024 conference in Hangzhou, China.
The 11th ACM International Conference on Systems for Energy-Efficient
Buildings, Cities, and Transportation (BuildSys '24) is the premier
conference for researchers and practitioners working to develop and
optimize smart infrastructure systems that are driven by sophisticated
sensing, computing, and control functions. Built environments and
critical urban infrastructures account for over half of society's energy
consumption and are the mainstay of our nation's economy, security, and
health. Advances in the effective integration of networked sensors,
building controls, and physical infrastructure are transforming our
society. In the information age, unprecedented research of
cyber-physical infrastructures includes the acquisition, integration,
and analysis of big and heterogeneous data, such as sensors, devices,
vehicles, buildings, and humans, to tackle the major issues that cities
face, e.g., air pollution, increased energy consumption, unsafe or
unproductive human environments, and traffic congestion.
Systems optimization, data analysis, and modeling applied to the built
environment are particularly important in improving our society, e.g.,
by increasing its sustainability and enhancing people's quality of life.
These systems represent the foundation for emerging “smart cities.”
For additional details about the conference, please visit our website
at: https://buildsys.acm.org/2024 [1].
TARGETED TOPICS
We invite original contributions with topics including, but not limited
to, the following:
· AI/ML, large foundation models, and data analytics for built
environments;
· Design and operation of low-carbon and sustainable systems in
built environments;
· Applications in smart and connected communities;
· Modeling, simulation, optimization, and control of heating,
cooling, lighting, ventilation, water usage, and other resource flows in
built environments;
· Reliable and scalable occupant information inference in built
environments;
· Emerging standards for data collection, energy control, or
interoperability of disparate devices or systems;
· Building automation system metadata models and inference
techniques;
· Improved user interfaces to built infrastructure;
· Human in the loop sensing and control for efficient building
energy systems;
· Sensor systems and applications impacting the health,
wellness, safety, or comfort of humans in built environments;
· Enhancing energy efficiency, energy reliability, durability,
and comfort via Cyber-Physical Systems and Internet of Things;
· Sensing, modeling, and predicting for urban infrastructure and
transportation;
· Integration of smart grids with built environments;
· Distributed generation, alternative energy, renewable sources,
and energy storage in buildings;
· Long-lived and energy-harvesting sensor systems;
· Security, privacy, safety, and reliability in the context of
built environments;
· Smart building and city technologies and initiatives in
developing countries;
· Vehicle, mobility, and traffic-related technologies.
· Scalable indoor localization, contextual computing, and
city-scale wireless communications;
PAPER TYPES
We solicit two types of original submissions:
· Regular papers for oral presentation (10 pages max)
· Notes papers for oral presentation (4 pages max)
Notes papers are 4-page papers intended to discuss preliminary research
results, advocate new research directions, describe public software or
datasets, or present short projects that do not warrant a 10-page paper.
Notes papers serve, in part, to encourage younger researchers and
research teams entering this field of research to share their work. We
also encourage Notes paper submissions from industry participants who
may not be able to devote resources to a full paper. While Notes papers
are not expected to have extensive evaluations, they will be reviewed
based on the novelty of their ideas, potential for impact, and quality
of presentation.
BuildSys'24 will participate in the ACM "Open Surround Program," which
allows the proceedings to be freely available via the DL to the world
for one month. The default is first-day availability.
