====================================
CALL FOR PAPERS: CollaborateCom 2005
====================================
The First International Conference on Collaborative Computing:
Networking, Applications & Worksharing
Jointly sponsored by the IEEE Computer Society, Create-Net, and ICST
San Jose, California, USA, December 19 - 21, 2005
(http://www.CollaborateCom.org)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Networks and user applications have evolved from centralized computing
platforms to distributed collaborative computing services. Collaboration
as a fundamental capability of networks represents a significant step
forward. Collaborative network nodes can jointly achieve advanced
networking goals beyond relaying packets. Collaborative user
applications enable people and computers to work together more
productively. Collaboration computing techniques can also support
intelligent reconfiguration and performance tuning of software, systems,
overlay network architectures and topologies to meet diverse and
evolving application requirements.
The First International Conference on Collaborative Computing
(CollaborateCom 2005) is being launched to serve as a premier
international forum for discussions among academic and industrial
researchers, practitioners, and students interested in collaborative
networking, worksharing, and applications.
PAPERS:
The conference invites original technical papers that have not been
previously published and are not currently under review for publication
elsewhere. Contributions addressing all areas related to collaborative
networking, applications and worksharing are solicited. Topics include,
but are not limited to, the following:
. Architectures, protocols, and enabling technologies for collaborative
computing networks and systems
. Theoretical foundations and algorithms for collaborative networks,
applications, and worksharing
. Peer-to-peer and overlay networks, systems, and applications
. Collaborative mobile networks, sensor networks, unmanned air and
ground vehicle networks, and applications
. Collaborative technologies for fast creation and deployment of new
mobile services
. Workflow technology and workflow management for collaborative network
management
. Web services technologies for collaborative networking and applications
. Multi-agent technology and software technologies for collaborative
networking and applications
. Data management and middleware support for collaborative information
systems
. Trustworthy collaborative business processing in virtual organizations
. Security and trust management in collaborative networks, systems, and
applications
. Autonomic computing and quality of services in collaborative networks,
systems, and applications
. Energy management for collaborative networks
. Collaborative e-education, e-learning, and collaborative computing in
large scale digital libraries
. Collaboration in pervasive computing applications
. Software design, testing, and experimentation technology for
collaborative networking and applications
. Simulation, performance evaluation, experiments, and trials of
collaborative networks and applications
. Visualization techniques and visual languages for collaborative
networks and applications
POSTERS:
The conference will include a poster session that highlights recent and
on-going research, experiments, and provocative ideas that have not been
published elsewhere. Poster submissions will be reviewed and the
summaries of accepted posters will appear in the conference proceedings.
WORKSHOPS:
Proposals for workshops are solicited. Potential instructors are
requested to submit a workshop proposal of at most 5 pages, including a

Call for Papers
Workshop
Sicherheit in
komplexen, vernetzten
Umgebungen
Im Zeitraum
19.-22. September 2005
Bonn, Deutschland
Workshop
im Rahmen der 35. Jahrestagung "Informatik LIVE!"
der Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V.
www.gi-fg-sidar.de/skvu2005
tung beitragen.
Hintergrund
===========
hält in verschiedenen Bereichen Einzug.
zessen möglich geworden, sodass Informationen schnellstmöglich an allen
================
Hintergrundes - gebeten:
- Intrusion Detection / Response in integrierten Sicherheits-
architekturen (z.B. Software Embedded Sensors),
- Kooperierende Sicherheitssysteme für Koalitionsumgebungen,
- Intruder Tracing / Forensische Analyse in transparenten dynami-
schen Netzen,
- Intrusion Detection / Response / Tolerance in mobilen Ad-hoc-
Netzen,
- Sicherheit in Sensornetzen,
hende Sicherheitsysteme.
Einreichungen
=============
Weitere Infor-
mationen zu Einreichungen finden sich unter

integration of computing and communication in all devices. Concepts
such as autonomics, self-healing, self-organized and adaptive
computing systems are bringing both the academic and industry research
communities together to address the challenges of managing complexity
and systems problems, where management is inevitably key.
MMNS broadly solicits research in network and service management and
new models, architectures and designs in technology and services to
enable multimedia proliferation. This year, MMNS 2005 will continue
the success of the outstanding agendas of the past, but also emphasize
and solicit novel research in management of integrated multimedia
services.

Special issue on
Transport Protocols for the Next Generation Networks
http://www710.univ-lyon1.fr/~cpham/ADT-TCP/ADT-TCP.html
New networking technologies with optical-based transmission as a
foundation for achieving tremendous throughput in the order of tens of
Gbit/s are changing the face of the wired Internet with new large scale
high-performance infrastructures such as computational grids. In the
wireless domain, mobility and ubiquitous access to the Internet is
driving the emergence of new value-added applications and exhibiting new
user needs. Self-organizing wireless networks such as ad-hoc networks
may eventually become the natural way of connecting end-users to the
network. In this all-digital, all-connected world, transport protocols
have the very difficult task of providing reliable, fair and efficient
communications to millions of (groups of) users with very different
needs and profiles, across different underlying technologies.
High-speed networks, often referred to as long fat networks, raise the
problem of fair and efficient congestion control mechanisms. Wireless
environments with mobility and ad-hoc features bring new concerns. Fast
heterogeneous networks face all these difficulties. This special issue
is devoted to these problems. We solicit two categories of
contributions: (1) survey papers presenting state-of-the-art studies,
and (2) papers presenting an original and unpublished work or experiment
on, but not limited to, the following topics:
* TCP variants or new transport protocols for high-speed networks
* TCP optimisations and tuning
methodologies, results from real experiments
* New congestion control mechanisms for high-speed networks
* Transport protocols for heterogeneous networks
* Experiments and prototype implementations and lessons learnt
* Multipeer and multicast transport protocols
* Transport protocols in wireless/mobile/ad-hoc environments
* Transport protocols for (near) real-time traffic
* Performance modelling of TCP on high-speed or wireless networks
* Fairness issues in new transport protocols
* Transport protocols in all-optical networking
* Very high-speed transport protocols for computational grids
