Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) play a significant role in smart
cities, management in the age softwarization and artificial intelligence,
with the future being Autonomous Vehicles (CAV). Such transportation
systems integrated with today’s advanced vehicular and wireless network
technologies would have a crucial role in improving the quality and
delivery performance of diversified vehicular services. There exist many
unprecedented challenges that arise from Intelligent Transportation Systems
and Vehicles Technologies (ITSVT). These include configuring vehicular
cloud services to user requirements, connected vehicle security issues
related to connectivity, big data analytics for intelligent transportation,
vehicular cloud computing, and service composition, and power management
for smart electric vehicles. There is also a need for customized
communication technology for the integrated solutions of connected vehicles
and smart city sub-systems.
The aim of the Third International Workshop on ITSVT is to bring together
engineers, researchers, and practitioners interested in the advances and
applications in the field of intelligent transportation and vehicle
technology. Participants are invited to present and discuss recent
developments and challenges in ITSVT systems. This workshop focuses on
innovative applications, tools and frameworks in all technology areas
related to connected vehicles in the context of smart cities and other
application domains. Papers describing original novel work and advanced
prototypes, systems and tools are encouraged. The workshop would provide a
platform for evaluating new frontiers in research, development,
integration, standards, advance service provisioning, and user communities
addressing smart and hyper-connected environments of networking
technologies. ITSVT would be unique with its focus on intelligent
transportation and connected vehicles technologies. Researchers are
encouraged to submit original research contributions in all major areas,
which include, but not limited to:
* Autonomous Vehicles and Automated Driving
* Big Data Analytics for Intelligent Transportation
* Intelligent Infrastructure and Guidance Systems
* Cooperative Driving and Traffic Management
* Connected Services and Mobility management
* Autonomous and Connected Aerial Networks
* Green Vehicular Communication and Services
* CAV-based Data and Energy Transport Services
* QoE/QoS in Connected Vehicles
* In-Vehicle Networks and Communications
* CAV Enabled Smart Cities Applications

[Apologies if you receive multiple copies of this message]
Dear Researchers/Authors,
You are invited to submit your high-quality research findings to the
Special Session 11: "Sensing and Data Platforms: what is ahead of us" of
the 2024 IEEE International Workshop on Metrology for Agriculture and
Forestry (MetroAgriFor).
October 29-31, 2024 - Padua, Italy
Website: https://www.metroagrifor.org/special-session-11
Aims and Scope
The role of sensing, including in-situ, proximity and remote, is
increasingly crucial for agriculture and forestry.
Huge investments have been made in this field - consider for instance
satellite constellations for remote sensing, the thriving UAV sector, and
the dawning sector of terrestrial rovers - and benefits are evident in
several application areas.
The other side of the coin is represented by the data platforms used to
collect, store, and process the huge amount of data coming from sensing
platforms.
Such data platforms should, among others, provide interoperable data
through open interfaces (APIs) to different classes of users, but such
functionality has not yet reached its full potential.
In Europe, there have been several recent initiatives focused on enhancing
data sharing and processing.
One key effort is the European Strategy for Data, which introduces the
concept of a Common European Data Space and includes actions to deploy
Agriculture and Green Deal sectorial data spaces.
Additionally, the Horizon Europe framework is providing funding for the
establishment of European Partnerships that bring together the European
Commission with private and/or public partners to address pressing
challenges through collaborative research and innovation projects.
One such partnership, the European Partnership for Agriculture of Data,
aims to support sustainable agriculture in the EU and improve policy
monitoring and implementation by leveraging digital and data technologies
for environmental observation.
The goal of this special session is to investigate the potential and the
challenges of both sensing and data platforms, looking to future
developments, and also considering economic and legal aspects to be
carefully taken into consideration.
Contributions are expected to contribute to, but are not limited to, the
following topics:
- sensing systems, both local and remote, and recent developments;
- state of the art of data platforms linked to sensing systems, standards,
interoperability enablers, and sustainability of their business model;
- GEOSS Data Sharing and Management Principles, FAIR principles, and other
interoperable solutions with the potential to further push the use of
sensing data;
- economic and legal aspects that can fuel or limit the use of such systems.
Important dates
- Extended Abstract Submission: 𝖩̶𝗎̶𝗇̶𝖾̶ ̶𝟣̶𝟢̶ ̶𝟤̶𝟢̶𝟤̶𝟦̶ June 30, 2024
- Extended Abstract Notification: September 1, 2024
- Final Paper Submission: September 20, 2024
Submission Instruction
Authors should prepare an Extended Abstract (4-5 pages) that clearly
indicates the originality of the contribution and the relevance of the
work. The Extended Abstract should include the title of the paper, names
and affiliations of the authors, an abstract, keywords, an introduction
describing the nature of the problem and the state of the art in the field
of interest, a description of the contribution, the results achieved and
their applicability, conclusions, and references.
When the review process has been completed, authors receive a notification
of either acceptance or rejection of the submission. If the paper has been
accepted, the authors can prepare a final paper that incorporates the
reviewers' suggestions.
The format for the final paper is identical to the format for the extended
abstract except for the number of pages: the full paper has a required
minimum length of five (5) pages and a maximum of six (6) pages.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:
Smart health, smart cities, smart industries, smart agriculture, smart
environment, smart transportation, smart homes, smart education, smart
business, smart energy, smart grids, and so on are the components that aid
mankind in smart living. However, they typically require the design and
development of innovative technologies, standards, and protocols apart from
their architectures and frameworks. IoT has emerged as an extension to
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) with low-cost and Internet-enabled
solutions for connecting and accessible anything from anywhere. In
addition, such smartness is derived due to the artificial intelligence
yields in the production of tremendous amounts of data. The data increases
as a baby boomer requires efficient tools to analyze and extract suitable
inferences for services in order to extend smart living. Cloud, Edge, and
Big Data acquired enormous attention in the light of massive data storage
and analytics. With the large cohorts of gazette shrewdness and hi-tech
population, the infrastructure and service delivery becomes expensive and
difficult for cities and governments to manage. Automating systems through
the utilization of IoT, Cloud, Edge, Big Data, and M2M tools and
technologies demonstrate a great opportunity to reduce operating costs
significantly, utilize those savings more effectively, and provide better
services to communities for smarter living. This workshop provides a
platform for the researchers to publish their innovative ideas, extensive
analysis of their comparative studies, critical review of existing
research, and position papers in the above areas to meet the smart living
requirements.
SUBMISSION PROCEDURE:
We are pleased to invite you to submit original contributions to SLICE
2024. This includes technical, experimental, theoretical, conceptual, or
survey. All submissions will be peer-reviewed on the basis of relevance,
originality, importance, and clarity.
Submissions Guidelines and Proceedings:
Papers must be 6 pages maximum in IEEE format, 10pt font using the IEEE
8.5" x 11" two-column format, single space, A4 format, including
references. Authors must use the Manuscript Templates for IEEE Conference

names on their submitted papers. For all papers, IEEE reserves the right to
exclude the paper from distribution after the conference (e.g., removal
from IEEE Xplore) if the paper is not presented at the conference. All
papers should be in PDF format and submitted electronically using the Paper
Submission link. The Papers selected for presentation will appear in the
MASS 2024 Proceedings, which will be published by the IEEE Computer Society

*ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:*
*SUBMISSION PROCEDURE:*
We are pleased to invite you to submit original contributions to SLICE
2024. This includes technical, experimental, theoretical, conceptual, or
survey. All submissions will be peer-reviewed on the basis of relevance,
originality, importance, and clarity.
*Submissions Guidelines and Proceedings:*
Papers must be 6 pages maximum in IEEE format, 10pt font using the IEEE
8.5" x 11" two-column format, single space, A4 format, including
references. Authors must use the Manuscript Templates for IEEE Conference
Proceedings. Reviewing will be single-blind, i.e., authors can keep their
names on their submitted papers. For all papers, IEEE reserves the right to
exclude the paper from distribution after the conference (e.g., removal
from IEEE Xplore) if the paper is not presented at the conference. All
papers should be in PDF format and submitted electronically using the Paper
Submission link. The Papers selected for presentation will appear in the
MASS 2024 Proceedings, which will be published by the IEEE Computer Society
and submitted to IEEE Xplore for inclusion.
