***** PAPER SUBMISSION DEADLINE *****
MARCH 14, 2015
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
CALL FOR PAPERS
IoT-SoS 2015
The fourth IEEE Workshop on the
Internet of Things: Smart Objects and Services
http://www.csee.umbc.edu/~nilanb/iot-sos-2015/
co-located with IEEE WoWMoM 2015
sponsored by IEEE, IEEE Computer Society
June 14, 2015
Boston, Massachusetts, USA
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Extended version of the top papers from the workshop will be invited
for possible publication in a special issue of the International Journal
of Distributed Sensor Networks
http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ijdsn/si/263575/cfp/
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a novel paradigm which is shaping
the evolution of the future Internet. According to the vision underlying
the IoT, the next step in increasing the ubiquity of the Internet is
to connect inanimate objects. By providing objects with
embedded communication capabilities and a common addressing scheme, a
highly distributed and ubiquitous network of seamlessly
connected heterogeneous devices is formed, which can be fully
integrated into the current Internet and mobile networks. Thus, it
allows for the development of new intelligent services available
anytime, anywhere, by anyone and anything.
When human interaction is absent from the system dynamics, the vision
is also referred to as Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communications.
Many applications with high social and business impact fall under
the IoT/M2M umbrella, including personal healthcare, smart grids,
smart city, surveillance, home automation, intelligent transportation,
and it is strongly expected that new applications will emerge once
the enabling technologies reach a stable state. Presently, two of the
most important challenges for the widespread use of IoT/M2M
technologies are: i) architectures, protocols and algorithms for
efficient interconnection of smart objects; and ii) the creation
of value-added services enabled by the interconnection of smart objects.
The aim of this workshop is to bring together practitioners and
researchers from both academia and industry to discuss recent advances
in theory, application, and implementation of the IoT/M2M
technologies, protocols, algorithms, and services.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- System architectures for IoT/M2M systems
- Protocols and mechanisms for seamless IoT/M2M communications
- Enabling standards and technologies for the IoT/M2M
- Service platforms for IoT/M2M applications
- Business models and processes for IoT/M2M applications
- Energy optimization and sustainable operation of
IoT/M2M devices
- Access network issues; including mobility management,
data dissemination and routing
- Modeling and simulation of large-scale IoT/M2M scenarios
- Experiences with experimental IoT/M2M system prototypes,
pilots, and testbeds

===============================
MobiCom 2015 Call for Papers
http://www.sigmobile.org/mobicom/2015/
===============================
As the premier conference on mobile computing and wireless networking,
MobiCom 2015 solicits full papers (limited to 12 pages excluding
references) that focus on theory, system, practice, and challenge of
providing users with a successful mobile or wireless experience. At its
core, we expect papers that address issues related to mobile computing,
security, and communication challenges in the presence of various
wireless and mobile networks. We strongly encourage papers on emerging
mobile/wireless topics including but not limited to Internet of things,
machine-to-machine communications, smart devices, wearable computing,
mobile data science/analysis, mobile social networks, and crowdsourcing.
We also invite papers that integrate mobile/wireless research with
innovations in cloud computing and software defined networking.
Successful papers will address real research challenges through
theoretical analysis, novel system design, and/or real-world measurement
and deployment of mobile systems and applications. The program
committee will evaluate each paper using metrics that are appropriate
for the topic area. The accepted papers will be published in the
conference proceedings. All submissions must describe original research,
not published or currently under review for another conference or journal.
Experience Papers (New!)
The conference invites submission of short papers (limited to 8 pages
excluding references) that present extensive experiences with
implementation, deployment, and operations of mobile computing and
wireless networks. Desirable papers are expected to contain real data as
well as description of the practical lessons learned. The experiences
papers will be evaluated by the MobiCom technical program committee,
primarily for (i) the richness of their data or experiences, (ii)
inferences drawn or lessons learned, (iii) discovery of new problems,
and (iv) their impact on current and future mobile systems and wireless
networks as well as on the society. Note that a paper that builds a
system and presents a limited experimental evaluation is not suitable as
an experience paper. The selected experience papers will be a part of
the MobiCom technical program and will be published in the conference
proceedings. They should be submitted using the same submission
procedure adopted for the full papers. The title of these papers must
have the prefix “Experience:”.
Challenge Papers
The conference also invites submission of short papers (limited to 8
pages excluding references) that present revolutionary new ideas or that
challenge existing assumptions prevalent among the wireless research
community. These "challenges papers" should provide stimulating ideas or
visions that may open up exciting avenues and/or influence the direction
of future research. Descriptions of new products or evolution of
existing work are not appropriate topics for papers in this category.
While an exhaustive evaluation of the proposed ideas is not necessary,
insight and in-depth understanding of the issues is expected. Challenges
papers will be reviewed by the MobiCom technical program committee and
will be part of the technical program and published in the MobiCom
proceedings. They should be submitted using the same submission
procedure adopted for the full papers. The title of these papers must
have the prefix "Challenge:".
Paper Submission Instruction
All paper submissions will be handled electronically. Authors should
prepare a PDF version of their full paper. Any papers that do not adhere
to the following guidelines will be immediately rejected:
* Full papers - Maximum of 12 pages excluding references (i.e.
submissions may include as many additional pages as needed for references)
* Experience/Challenge Papers – Maximum of 8 pages excluding references
* Font size no smaller than 10 points
* Double column format with each column having dimensions 9.25 inches x
3.33 inches, a space of 0.33 inches between the two columns, and with no
more than 55 lines of text per column
* Fit properly on US letter-sized paper (8.5 inches x 11 inches)
* Authors' names must not appear anywhere in the paper or in the PDF
file. The PDF file must also not contain any hyperlinks.
All submitted papers would be evaluated through a double-blind reviewing
process, with the identities of the authors withheld from the reviewers.
Please direct any questions about the paper submission process to the
Program Co-Chairs (at mobicom"underscore"pcchairs "at" acm "dot" org).
Awards
All papers will be considered for the Best Paper Award. The program
committee will select a number of candidates for the award among
accepted regular papers. The winner will be selected at the conference,
considering both the paper and the presentation.
This year, we will introduce a new award that we call the Best Community
Paper Award. Among all the accepted papers, the program committee will
select one that contributes the most to the broader research community
in terms of real data or new software/hardware.
Video Presentation
The authors of each accepted paper will be asked to submit a short
1-minute video to introduce the research presented in their paper to the
general public. These videos will be placed on the conference website a
few weeks before the conference, and will be played during the
conference. A selected set will be featured by the social media channels
related to the conference. A best video award will be given at the
conference.

http://cnd.iit.cnr.it/aoc2015
sponsored by
IEEE Computer Society,
EU FP7 MOTO Project
June 14-17 2015, Boston, MA, USA
The diffusion of lightweight, powerful portable devices, also enriched
with a
variety of sensing capabilities, is enabling new ways for users'
communication,
and laying the foundation for realizing the ubiquitous networking idea.
Acting
either as the main communication mode or as complement to existing mobile
network infrastructures, opportunistic networking can leverage the
mobility of
end users and enhance their communication capabilities. The opportunistic
exploitation of extemporary contacts among the users of the network
paves the
way to a number of applications but also poses new and challenging
problems to
the networking research community. The AOC 2015 workshop aims at serving
as a
meeting point for people working in the area and a forum for exchanging
ideas,

CALL FOR PAPERS
Med-Hoc-Net 2015
The 14th IFIP Annual Mediterranean Ad Hoc Networking Workshop
Technically Co-sponsored by IEEE Communications Society
http://medhocnet2015.uc.pt/
June 17-19, 2015
Vilamoura, Algarve, Portugal
OVERVIEW
The unstoppable evolution of network technologies is paving the way to
new network and users scenarios, driving creative services and building
new business models. Wide and easy connectivity, network
programmability, fast speed connections and decoupled data and
management repositories, as well as smart devices are all of them
facilitating innovation in the networking and services arena.
MED-HOC-NET 2015 focuses on fundamental network concepts, but also on
topics related to those network paradigms attracting large attention by
the scientific and industrial communities. Hence, the conference
includes topics such as smart cities, smart transportation, IoT,
data-centric operations, autonomous organization, seamless connectivity
and cross-layer design and application scenarios (road safety, disaster
recovery, smart cities, energy efficient buildings, sensors, actuators,
wearables, etc.). Moreover, novel and exciting challenges are
introduced by commercial systems adopting the ad hoc paradigm, from
mesh, sensor and vehicular networks, and by associated delay-tolerant
and opportunistic scenarios. Furthermore, today's market explosion of
smart phones is creating new opportunities for wireless ad hoc social
networks, the study of which requires the combination of opportunistic
ad hoc networking aspects with the understanding of social behavior and
mobility patter!
