Call for Papers - ReNeSys 2025
*****************************************************************************************
*The 1st Workshop on Resilient Networks and Systems (ReNeSys 2025)*
(in conjunction with the NetSys 2025)
September 1-4, 2025
Ilmenau, Germany
https://www.resilient-worlds.org/renesys2025/
https://kuvs.de/netsys/2025
*****************************************************************************************
Resilience, as an emerging research field, is strongly required as a core
property of all
kinds of critical systems. It describes the ability of a system to absorb
shocks,
recover promptly, adapt to maintain comparable functionality, and continuously
improve by learning from such incidents. With the increasing complexity and
heterogeneity
of critical networks and systems, the scope of resilience is going beyond
traditional
fault tolerance and security paradigms and encompasses emerging
requirements such as
ultra-reliability, deterministic performance, trustworthiness, and privacy.
This also
necessitates advanced resilience measures, incorporating artificial
intelligence (AI) and
machine learning (ML) models, quantum security, real-time and distributed
reconfiguration
methods etc.
Accordingly,*the Workshop on Resilient Networks and Systems (ReNeSys 2025)*
targets new
approaches for design, analysis, and evaluation of next-generation
resilient networks and
interconnected systems. It invites contributions for advanced techniques to
overcome complex
resilience challenges and to achieve various resilience objectives like
dependability,
security, robustness etc. The workshop spans diverse domains, including
wired and wireless
communication, Internet of Things (IoT), vehicular networks, cyber-physical
systems,
energy-constrained/intermittently powered systems, mobile edge computing,
distributed
operating systems, software-defined systems and beyond.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
* Theoretical resilience frameworks and models
* Complex failure and threat models, and emerging resilience
challenges (e.g., power-failure
resilience, large-scale disasters, high mobility etc.)
* Resilient hardware design (e.g., microprocessors, SoCs, sensors,
quantum computer)
* Resilient software design (e.g., applications, middlewares,
operating systems)
* Resilient virtualized systems (e.g., cloud/edge/fog computing
paradigms, SOA)
* Resilient network technologies and paradigms (e.g., 5G/6G, TSN,
network coding)
* Anomaly detection, prevention, prediction, and mitigation techniques
* System and network orchestration and (re)configuration schemes for
resilience

The 11th IEEE International Conference on Dependability in Sensor, Cloud, and
Big Data Systems and Applications (DependSys-2025)
https://hpcn.exeter.ac.uk/dependsys2025/
Exeter, UK, 13-15 August 2025
INTRODUCTION
=============
DependSys-2025 conference is the 11th event in the series of conferences which offers a timely venue for bringing together new ideas, techniques, and solutions for dependability and its issues in sensor, cloud, and big data systems and applications. As we are deep into the Information Age, huge amounts of data are generated every day from sensors, individual archives, social networks, Internet of Things, enterprises and Internet in various scales and format which will pose a major challenge to the dependability of our designed systems. As these systems often tend to become inert, fragile, and vulnerable after a period of running. Effectively improving the dependability of sensor, cloud, big data systems and applications has become increasingly critical.
This conference provides a forum for individuals, academics, practitioners, and organizations who are developing or procuring sophisticated computer systems on whose dependability of services they need to place great confidence. Future systems need to close the dependability gap in face of challenges in different circumstances. The emphasis will be on differing properties of such services, e.g., continuity, effective performance, real-time responsiveness, corruption, anomaly, ability to avoid catastrophic failures, prevention of deliberate privacy intrusions, reliability, availability, sustainability, adaptability, heterogeneity, security, safety, and so on.
DependSys-2025 will be hosted in Exeter, the capital city of Devon and provides the county with a central base for education, medicine, religion, commerce and culture. Prospective authors are invited to submit their papers to DependSys-2025. All accepted papers are expected to be included in IEEE Xplore and will be indexed by Engineering Index (EI). The authors of selected best papers will be invited post conference to extend their contributions for special issues of prestigious journals to be planned in conjunction with the conference.
SCOPE AND TOPICS
================
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Track 1: Dependability and Security Fundamentals and Technologies
Track 2: Dependable and Secure Systems
Track 3: Dependable and Secure Applications
Track 4: Dependability and Security Measures and Assessments
PAPER SUBMISSION GUIDELINE
==========================
All papers need to be submitted electronically through the conference submission website (https://hpcn.exeter.ac.uk/dependsys/) with PDF format. Von: Lewis Tseng <ltseng1224(a)GMAIL.COM>
An: itc(a)COMSOC.ORG
Hello,
Due to many requests, we extended the submission deadline to *April 13,
2025 AoE*.
We are excited to invite you to submit your work to the Workshop on
Environment-System Symbiosis (EnvSys), co-located with the 55th IEEE/IFIP
International Conference on Dependable Systems and Networks(DSN 2025) in
Naples, Italy. This interdisciplinary workshop seeks to explore the
emerging relationship between computer systems and the environment — an
area of critical importance to both technology and society.
*** Workshop Highlights ***
* Keynote on designing systems to track COVID-related impacts
* Tutorial on water sustainability and modern computing
* Synergy activities to foster cross-community collaboration, such as
ice-breaking sessions, roundtables, and poster presentations
*** Why Submit to EnvSys? ***
EnvSys presents a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge
discussions about the symbiotic interactions between computer systems and
their environments. We aim to bring together researchers from computer
systems, dependability, security, autonomous systems, environmental
science, sustainability, agriculture, biology, and beyond to explore how
long-living, autonomous, and “organic” computer systems interact with, and
often coevolve with, their environment.
Your work — whether it’s a complete study, a novel speculative idea, or
real-world experience — could make an important contribution to this
growing field. We encourage papers that address both the technical and
socio-environmental aspects of these interactions. Topics might include,
but are not limited to:
* Systems designed for extreme environments: space, underwater, wilderness,
and harsh climates
* Sustainability and environmental impact of computer systems
* Disaster recovery and resilience for cyber-physical systems (IoT, smart
grids)
* AI/ML and environmental monitoring: improving climate impact awareness
and mitigation
* Security, safety, and reliability in autonomous and connected systems
* Interaction and coevolution of systems and the environment
More details and topics can be found here
https://sites.google.com/view/envsys2025/call-for-papers
<https://sites.google.com/view/envsys2025/call-for-papers>
*** We Welcome Four Types of Papers: ***
1. Research Papers: Presenting complete and novel results in the area
2. Speculative Papers: Describing innovative ideas with preliminary
exploratory work
3. Experience Papers: Sharing real-world lessons and insights from deployed
systems
4. Visionary or "Disrupt" Papers: Offering bold, thought-provoking ideas
that challenge conventional paradigms
