Together with available content and services on the World Wide Web, they build networks of systems that integrate with the physical environment. This will lead to radical changes in many application fields (e.g. energy, mobility, healthcare) and will have an impact on our daily lives. Many technology leaders are already in the midst of a global race of repositioning and reinventing themselves by developing new dynamic CPS inspired business models. However, mastering the engineering of complex and trustworthy CPS faces serious challenges, which have to be addressed by the engineering methodologies of the future. The EITEC workshop series aims at bringing together researchers and practitioners from various domains relevant to CPS dedicated to mastering the challenges in engineering of CPS today and in the future. The workshop will be a venue to share results and new ideas, discuss upcoming research directions, and to catalyze a joint industry-academia platform that bridges the gap between scientific results and transfer into practice. The workshop will include a keynote presentation by Dr. Bernhard Schätz, head of "Software & Systems Engineering Department" at the fortiss transfer institute in Munich. The organizers invite contributions with a strong focus towards CPS that describe problem statements, trends, and emerging ideas in the engineering of CPS. The workshop defines 4 categories of submissions, targeted to address dedicated topics. *+++ Paper Categories +++* Category 1: Problem Statements and emerging ideas Submissions for this category shall describe open issues in the engineering of CPS of theoretical or practical nature and discuss / present corresponding solution ideas or describe industrial and academic challenges for the engineering of CPS. Category 2: Demonstration papers Submissions in this category will present and demonstrate prototypical features of development tools that address the specific challenges in engineering of CPS. Category 3: Research Directions and trends Submissions in this category shall discuss contributions that address proposals how to shape future research in the engineering of CPS. Crowdsensing/crowdsourcing is a novel data collection paradigm that leverages this vast mobile sensor network, expanding the scope of research endeavours and allowing civic issues to be addressed, without the need to purchase specialized sensors or install and maintain network infrastructure. Data collected using such applications may come from unexpected yet interesting and valuable sources, and may allow the data to come from previously inaccessible locations and contexts. CASPer 2016 provides a forum for discussion, debate, and collaboration focused on ideas, trends, techniques, and recent advances in crowdsensing and crowdsourcing. With the latest advanced technology, cities started to generate huge amount of data from different sources such as power plants, buildings, traffic, water management systems where smart sensors and meters measure kilowatt hours of electricity, kilometres per hours of traffic speed, liters of water, pollutant emission, or kilograms of waste. Smart city platforms bring data from various city infrastructures and form a unified management system for different purposes. Therefore integrating high degree of information technology using platforms and comprehensive applications of information resources gained great importance. Im Rahmen der Poster-Session der Konferenz Sicherheit 2016 stellen die Teilnehmer Ihre Arbeiten mit einem Poster einem breiteren Publikum vor und können diese mit erfahrenen Wissenschaftlern und Industrievertretern diskutieren sowie weitere Kontakte knüpfen. Doktoranden sind deshalb eingeladen, Extended Abstracts im Umfang von 4-6 Seiten zu Ihren Forschungsarbeiten einzusenden. Einreichungen dürfen zum Zeitpunkt der Tagung nicht in identischer oder sehr ähnlicher Form zitierfähig veröffentlicht worden sein. Im Sinne eines Doktoranden-Forums wird ausdrücklich gebeten, dass die Beiträge in Allein-Autorenschaft der Doktoranden erstellt werden. Eingereichte Beiträge werden nach den Kriterien Relevanz, Innovation, Interesse für ein größeres Publikum und Qualität der Darstellung bewertet. Angenommene Beiträge werden im Tagungsband der Sicherheit 2016 als GI-Edition Lecture Notes in Informatics (LNI) veröffentlicht. The resiliency of such communication systems in face of natural disasters, malicious attacks, or even day-to-day wear and tear has become of great importance to maintain the continuous operation of such critical systems. Resilience can have many definitions that range from the ability of a communication system to operate under harsh environments or to withstand malicious attacks, all the way to its adaptability to failures or other unexpected events. In particular, resilience of public safety communication networks during emergencies can become a matter of life or death, since first responders and public safety personnel rely heavily on wired and wireless communication capabilities to execute their search and rescue operations. At the same time, critical infrastructure networks and other civil protection network deployments need to be highly robust, and function effectively in the presence of dynamically varying external and internal conditions. During this time two major classes of platforms have emerged for network gathering and processing of sensor data: firstly so called "motes" that are based on a micro controller and well suited for prototyping and testing hypotheses and solutions in the field, and secondly smartphones as ubiquitous and powerful yet mobile communications and computing platforms already adopted by wide population. However, as the number of devices and applications continue growing in numbers and reducing in size, novel, superior platforms should emerge. Let us call these new platforms "NextMote". Interestingly, more and more Pervasive Mobile Computing technologies are designed using inter-disciplinary approaches, that exploit models of the users personal and social behavior to design algorithms, protocols, services and applications. As the voice revenue is in constant decrease, Telecom operators are energetically supporting this new technology as it is one of the most promising revenue-generating services. >From a standardization point of view, the M2M paradigm is still in its infancy. Both ETSI and 3GPP standards do not provide a seamless and unified M2M architecture, which is a sine qua none condition to the healthy and sustained development of the M2M market. Furthermore, the spreading of M2M technologies still hinge on fully providing a secure and fault-tolerance to M2M communications. Finally, in a single M2M network might coexist several radio technologies (Zigebee, bluetooth, UWB, WiFi and Femtocell...), which could dramatically impact M2M channels with fluctuation and noise. This workshop aims to gather researchers, engineers and practitioners both from academia and industry as well as end users who aim to present recent advances on Machine-to-Machine communications.
