The evolving topologies are expected to resemble the actual social networks of the communicating users and information on their characteristics can be a powerful aid for any network operation. Online services that assist social networks (facebook, linkedin, xing, etc.) in consequence are able to provide additional information on contacts and their relations. The lack of end-to-end connectivity and the use of personal information for the networking operations raise entirely new privacy concerns and require new reflections on security problems. The main focus of this workshop is on simulation of wireless multi-hop networks. The SWiN workshop is devoted to the topic of wireless multi-hop network simulators. An efficient and accurate simulation of these networks raises various issues which generally need to be addressed from several research domains simultaneously. As examples, we can consider the wireless physical layer modeling and simulation, the support of large scale networks, the simulation of complex R/F systems such as MIMO ones, the emulation of wireless nodes, etc. In particular but not exclusively, the Program Committee will be seeking high quality papers on the following aspects of wireless network simulation: - Radio medium modeling & simulation; - Scalability, large scale networks support; - Validation of simulators and simulation results; - Simulators benchmarking and comparisons; - Support of advanced R/F systems (MIMO, smart-antenna); - Support of distributed physical layer schemes (distributed signal processing, cooperative schemes); - Wireless node simulation or emulation; - Interoperability of simulators, emulators and experiments; - Distributed simulation; - Implementation of simulators. This workshop will be an opportunity to present the current works in these domains as well as to foster discussion and cooperation among researchers coming from the fields of simulation, radio medium modeling, ad hoc networking and wireless sensor networking. It will also be the occasion for people directly involved in the development and implementation of simulators to meet and confront their work with the models, applications and requests coming from the research communities that effectively use the simulators. In addition to contributed talks, the workshop program will include two tutorials on wireless physical layer modeling and wireless network simulators. SWiN 2008 will be held in Avignon, in the "Provence" part of Southern France. Avignon is known for its "Palais des Papes" (Palace of the Popes), where the Popes lived for much of the 14th century. ======================================= Third international workshop on Middleware for Sensor Networks (MidSens'08) http://www.comp.lancs.ac.uk/computing/midsens08/ Leuven, Belgium, December 1st 2008 co-located with Middleware2008 http://middleware2008.cs.kuleuven.be/ OBJECTIVES: ---------- The aim of this workshop is to stimulate research in the specific domain of middleware for wireless sensor networks (WSNs), to collect current expertise, and to further refine and integrate different approaches. In particular, the workshop will investigate how middleware architectures can relieve programmers from the lowest level sensor details, while still enabling them to exploit a sensor node’s resource capabilities in the most optimal way. This workshop aims to trigger and guide research efforts to create an integrated middleware vision, which is required to handle the challenges inherent to developing and deploying complex sensor applications in an efficient way. BACKGROUND: ---------- Many current projects on sensor middleware focus on developing algorithms and components for data aggregation, localization, service discovery, routing, synchronization, etc. These projects, however, often do not pay sufficient attention to integrating these algorithms and components into a generic middleware architecture, and for helping application developers to compose a system that exactly matches their requirements. This is particularly timely as commercial WSN platforms begin to emerge. This complexity of sensor network programming is partly caused by the highly resource limited, dynamic and heterogeneous environments in which sensor applications must operate. These specific WSN characteristics require a specific approach for middleware development that goes beyond dealing with resource constraints: middleware for WSNs should involve an end-to-end approach that handles the WSN as a whole rather than as a group of individual nodes. This implies considerable consequences for typical middleware services such as mobility, coordination, service discovery, security, data aggregation, quality of service, handling hardware heterogeneity, handling communication errors, scalability, and network organization. Sincerely, Giovanni ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Call for Papers IEEE Communications Magazine Feature Topic on Advances in Cooperative and Relay Communications In wireless networks, relays have been traditionally used to extend the range of communication systems. However, in recent years, other applications of relay communications have emerged. One such emerging application is to assist in the communication between the source and destination via some cooperation protocol. By controlling medium access between source and relays coupled with the appropriate modulation or coding in such cooperative schemes, it has been found that the diversity of the system can be improved. In multi-user systems, different users can also act as cooperative partners or relays to share resources and assist each other in information transmission, thereby creating a cooperative network. One other emerging application is the exchange of information between multiple users through relay(s). In such cases, by exploiting the knowledge of ones own transmitted signal, the throughput of these systems can be drastically increased. For cooperative and relay communications, the MAC layer also has many unique features. The MAC in this case, is concerned with more than one hop communication, is distributed and cooperative and works for multipoint-to-multipoint communication. The MAC also needs to have knowledge about network topology and account for node mobility. Accordingly, a new design of the MAC layer has to be devised to include new functionalities as well as MAC layer routing. With the large benefits to be reaped from employing cooperative and relay techniques, several standardization groups, such as IEEE 802.16 and IEEE 802.11, have started standardization processes to include such technologies into their prevailing standards. These efforts will no doubt attract even more interests from the academia and industry, advancing cooperative and relay technologies even further in the coming years. With interests from both the research and industrial communities gaining momentum, there is an urgent need to better understand as well as to keep track of cutting edge research in cooperative and relay communications. We plan this special issue to help address that need, as well as to help researchers looking to jump on the bandwagon. Therefore, the special issue will focus on recent advances as well as survey papers in cooperative and relay communications. The necessity for and expected benefit of self-organization is caused by the growing scale, complexity, and heterogeneity of future networked systems, like the future Internet. For example, these networks will consist of interconnected infrastructure-based, mobile ad-hoc, and sensor networks that could be spontaneously deployed in hostile environments, have a dynamic population and a potentially short life time. In spite of this, there will be stringent user requirements, such as resilience and real-time guarantees. Although self-organization is desirable for these kinds of networks, it is not yet clear to what extent self-organization can be exploited. Research into networked systems has recently started to systematically investigate self-organization, which has lead to a multitude of open research issues. The applicability of well-known self-organizing techniques to specific networks and networked systems has to be investigated, as well as adaptations and novel approaches inspired by, e.g., cooperation in nature and evolutionary dynamics, sociology, and game theory. Additionally, models originating from areas like feedback control and complex system's research, are required for these networked systems in order to analyze their controllability and emergent behavior. Aspects of engineering self-organizing networked systems should be studied that discuss paradigms like programmable networks, and tools and frameworks for deploying, testing, and monitoring self-organizing networks. The role of self-organization in the future Internet and the impact on its architecture is an important topic, as well as the application of self-organization in future intelligent transportation systems and vehicular ad-hoc networks. However, various applications and media formats may have different quality evaluation criteria and control parameters. For example, scalability and interactivity are very crucial performance metrics for 3D graphics scene model representation and delivery, while they may not be that important for some other multimedia applications. Thus, there is a strong impetus to develop new quality evaluation methodologies for various media formats under different multimedia application scenarios. Recently, cross-layer design has become a popular design methodology for enhancing Quality-of-Service (QoS) over various multimedia communications systems. However, most existing cross-layer designs for QoS provisioning in multimedia communications are mainly focused on improving network-oriented QoS such as throughput, delay, and jitter, while the multimedia application-oriented QoS have not been fully considered in the existing cross-layer design optimization. Therefore, quality-driven multimedia communications need to be extensively investigated under various communications scenarios involving audio, video, VoIP, image, and/or graphics. Under such a background, it is very important to highlight the importance of quality-driven cross-layer design as one of the enabling technologies for the next-generation quality-aware service-oriented multimedia networks. The aim of this special issue is to bring together the state-of-the-art research contributions that address the various aspects of quality-driven cross-layer designs for multimedia communications. The necessity for and expected benefit of self-organization is caused by the growing scale, complexity, and heterogeneity of future networked systems, like the future Internet. For example, these networks will consist of interconnected infrastructure-based, mobile ad-hoc, and sensor networks that could be spontaneously deployed in hostile environments, have a dynamic population and a potentially short life time. In spite of this, there will be stringent user requirements, such as resilience and real-time guarantees. Although self-organization is desirable for these kinds of networks, it is not yet clear to what extent self-organization can be exploited. Research into networked systems has recently started to systematically investigate self-organization, which has lead to a multitude of open research issues. The applicability of well-known self-organizing techniques to specific networks and networked systems has to be investigated, as well as adaptations and novel approaches inspired by, e.g., cooperation in nature and evolutionary dynamics, sociology, and game theory. Additionally, models originating from areas like feedback control and complex system's research, are required for these networked systems in order to analyze their controllability and emergent behavior. Aspects of engineering self-organizing networked systems should be studied that discuss paradigms like programmable networks, and tools and frameworks for deploying, testing, and monitoring self-organizing networks. The role of self-organization in the future Internet and the impact on its architecture is an important topic, as well as the application of self-organization in future intelligent transportation systems and vehicular ad-hoc networks. This edition, which builds on the success of the first conference (168 participants from 31 countries), will focus on all aspects of simulation modeling and analysis. High quality papers are sought on simulation tools, methodologies, applications, and practices. -- TOPICS -- The aim of the conference is to bring academic and industry researchers together with practitioners (from both the simulation community and from the numerous simulation user communities). The conference will address current and future trends in simulation techniques, models and practices, and foster interdisciplinary collaborative research in this area. While the main focus of the conference is on simulation tools, the conference also encourages the submission of broader theoretical and practical research contributions. Human Computer Interaction is one of the emerging areas of research in the recent years. The role of the user when designing interfaces is regarded as more and more important and the focus is shifted from designing systems that simply work to systems users can interact with, without an extraordinary effort of learning a system. In security relevant areas like e.g. aviation, public transport and public safety, atomic power plants and control centers an error when using a system can cause damage to people and could be life-threatening. Here HCI is regarded as an important factor for designing and developing systems that are customized to fit the particular requirements of Safety Critical Environments. HCI4SCE was established to provide a forum to scientists, engineers and industry to address recent research results, to present and discuss their ideas, theories, technologies, systems, tools, applications, work in progress and experiences on all theoretical and practical issues and to elaborate about the research areas of HCI applied to Safety Critical Environments. However, in recent years, other applications of relay communications have emerged. One such emerging application is to assist in the communication between the source and destination via some cooperation protocol. By controlling medium access between source and relays coupled with the appropriate modulation or coding in such cooperative schemes, it has been found that the diversity of the system can be improved. In multi-user systems, different users can also act as cooperative partners or relays to share resources and assist each other in information transmission, thereby creating a cooperative network. One other emerging application is the exchange of information between multiple users through relay(s). In such cases, by exploiting the knowledge of one's own transmitted signal, the throughput of these systems can be drastically increased. For cooperative and relay communications, the MAC layer also has many unique features. The MAC in this case, is concerned with more than one hop communication, is distributed and cooperative and works for multipoint-to-multipoint communication. The MAC also needs to have knowledge about network topology and account for node mobility. Accordingly, a new design of the MAC layer has to be devised to include new functionalities as well as MAC layer routing. With the large benefits to be reaped from employing cooperative and relay techniques, several standardization groups, such as IEEE 802.16 and IEEE 802.11, have started standardization processes to include such technologies into their prevailing standards. These efforts will no doubt attract even more interests from the academia and industry, advancing cooperative and relay technologies even further in the coming years. With interests from both the research and industrial communities gaining momentum, there is an urgent need to better understand as well as to keep track of cutting edge research in cooperative and relay communications. We plan this special issue to help address that need, as well as to help researchers looking to jump on the bandwagon. The traffic patterns resulting from such interaction models and their dependence on human behavior and social contexts are not well understood, and little is known about the usage of services and the resulting traffic in heterogeneous interconnected network. Given the importance of communication systems in our society and the tremendous changes that they undergo, this seminar is aimed at characterizing network usage and traffic, which is germane for the design, operation and management of all forms of communication networks. It is the 19th event in the series of the ITC Specialist Seminars that started in 1977. The seminar will take place on October 8 to 10, 2008, in Berlin, Germany. We are now soliciting papers that describe original, previously unpublished, completed research as well as work in progress, not currently under review by another conference or journal, addressing all areas pertaining to the theme of the seminar. In the ICT era of the 21st century, mobile services have a promising outlook. Companies are no longer static, premises based. On the contrary they have full mobility needs, with global customers that can be based worldwide, a growing number of remote offices that need to be interconnected, teleworkers that work from home, employees that are always travelling, longer times out of office, etc. On the other hand mobile technologies have evolved significantly over the last years improving the performance offered to users: mobile broadband thanks to 3.5G and beyond with growing coverage for several Mbps bandwidth; more powerful mobile handsets that support more complex applications and offer better user interfaces including larger screens and new features like embedded GPS, NFC,&; a massive penetration of mobile data telephony specially in the enterprise; smaller and lighter laptops at decreasing prices; maturity of IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) for telco grade IP communications, etc. Given this starting point where workers have permanent access to email in the mobile, and full remote desktop connectivity with laptops and VPNs in this special issue we will go beyond with current research activities related to future enterprise mobility with a total focus on services and applications. These new vehicular systems will enable roadside safety and homelands security as well as a broad range of entertainment environmental, and social applications. The aim of this workshop is to foster interactions among researchers from industry and academia on the state of the art as well the work in progress on wireless vehicular ad hoc networking (VANET) technologies. The focus is network protocols, and emerging communication standards as well as entertainment, safety, ITS, and commercial applications enabled by a vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) wireless communication technology. Such technology should meet the QOS requirements of diverse applications and should permit self-organization with a minimal user configuration. Authors are invited to submit papers presenting new research related to the theory or practice of VANET. Bitte geben Sie diese Einladung an interessierte mögliche Teilnehmer weiter und hängen sie an Ihren Instituten aus. Ich möchte Sie auf das fünfte Treffen des Fachgespräches Ortsbezogene Anwendungen und Dienste Do. 4. und Fr. 5. September 2008 an der Georg-Simon-Ohm Hochschule Nürnberg der GI-Fachgruppe "Kommunikation und Verteilte Systeme" (KuVS) aufmerksam machen. Ziel des Fachgespräches ist, Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftlern aber auch Vertretern der Industrie die Möglichkeit zu einem intensiven Gedankenaustausch zu geben. Grundlage dazu sind Vorträge zu verschiedenen Forschungsarbeiten aus diesem Bereich. Nach den erfolgreichen Treffen in den vergangenen Jahren findet in diesem Jahr das 5. Treffen in Nürnberg statt. Teilnehmer, die ihre Forschungsarbeit auf dem Treffen präsentieren wollen, möchten wir zur Einreichung eines Abstracts aufrufen (1 Seite, auf deutsch oder englisch). This environment will enable numerous novel applications and order of magnitude improvement in the performance of existing applications. However, information technology (IT) has not had the dramatic impact on day-to-day transportation that it has had on other domains such as business and science. In terms of the real-time information available to most travelers, with the exception of car navigation systems, the transportation experience has not changed much in the last 30-40 years. During this same time, the miniaturization of computing devices and advances in wireless communication and sensor technology have been propagating computing from the stationary desktop to the mobile outdoors, and making it ubiquitous. Transportation systems, due to their distributed/mobile nature, can become the ultimate test-bed for this ubiquitous (i.e., embedded, highly-distributed, and sensor-laden) computing environment of unprecedented scale. Information technology is the foundation for implementing new strategies, particularly if they are to be made available in real-time to wireless devices such as cell phones and PDAs. A related development is the emergence of increasingly more sophisticated geospatial and spatio-temporal information management capabilities. These factors have the potential to revolutionize traveler services, and the provision and analysis of related information. In this revolution, travelers and sensors in the infrastructure and in vehicles will all produce a vast amount of data that could be interpreted and acted upon to produce a sea change in transportation. The emerging discipline of computational transportation science (CTS) combines computer science and engineering with the modeling, planning, and economic aspects of transportation. The discipline goes beyond vehicular technology, and addresses pedestrian systems on hand-held devices, non-real-time issues such as data mining, as well as data management issues above the networking layer. CTS addresses issues of efficiency, equity, mobility, accessibility, and safety by taking advantage of ubiquitous computing. --- SCOPE OF THE SUBMISSION The International Workshop on Computational Transportation Science invites submissions of original, previously unpublished papers on CTS issues. Position papers that report novel research directions or identify challenging problems are also invited. QoI, broadly speaking, represents a level of confidence that may be placed on information. It touches every part of the end-to-end flow of sensor-derived information, from the sensors themselves and the observation data they produce to the various fusion layers that process these data and eventually to the applications (and their users) that use them. The objective of the QoISN Workshop is to foster constructive discussions among researchers from academic, industrial and governmental institutions for formalizing the science of QoI for sensor networks. We seek novel contributions covering all aspects of QoI for sensor network, including: - Formal QoI characterization and representation; - QoI performance metrics and estimation techniques; - Sensor fault analysis and sensor data cleansing and their impact on QoI; - QoI-aware networking; - Security, privacy, and data provenance and their impact on QoI; - QoI driven data fusion; - QoI calculus, brokering, and trade-off analysis; - QoI-driven system design; - QoI impact at the application level (e.g., detection-based decision making - and surveillance analysis) Paper preparation/submission details: Authors should prepare a PDF file following the IEEE single-space, two-column format using at least 10 point size type. The maximum page limit is 6 pages. Papers deemed outside the scope of the Workshop or longer than 6 pages will be administratively disqualified. Accepted papers will appear in the conference proceedings and published by IEEE. The paper must be correctly formatted to fit on U.S. "letter" size page (8.5" by 11") with at least 1" margins on all 4 sides. Examples include: Wireless ad hoc networks pose substantially different challenges compared to more traditional communication networks: they are highly dynamic, have limited resources (in terms of bandwidth, computation power, battery, etc.), have a highly decentralized organization, rely on often unreliable wireless communication channels, etc. As a consequence, new algorithms and protocols are needed for all aspects of the organization of these networks. Swarm Intelligence methods seem particularly interesting in this context. Anonymization techniques are crucial for the safe sharing of network data. They are necessary to obscure certain identifying information (e.g., IP addresses) in order to protect the privacy of end users and the security of internal networks. While current network data anonymization techniques are generally acknowledged to be useful, it is difficult to ensure they are free from information leakage. Also, anonymization involves fundamental tradeoffs between the protection of user privacy and the utility of the resulting data, and these tradeoffs need to be better understood. This workshop seeks to focus on new and innovative solutions for anonymizing network data that will ensure appropriate protection of host identities, network configurations, and network security practices within enterprise networks. Topics may include, but are not limited to, the following: - data sharing via anonymization - privacy-preserving data mining - data anonymization tools - data anonymization policy creation/implementation - data anonymization case studies/best practices - streaming data anonymization - anonymization issues specific to network data - business services enabled by anonymization - data protection laws relevant to data anonymization Papers submitted documenting attacks on anonymized systems are strongly encouraged to propose a corresponding protection solution. The IEEE Vehicular Technology Society (VTS) currently covers through its areas of interest (Mobile Radio, Transportation Systems and Automotive Electronics) all technical aspects needed to make wireless vehicular communications a reality. As a result, the IEEE VTS society has decided to establish a technical symposium on wireless vehicular communications, with the first issues planned to be co-located with the reputed IEEE VTC conferences. The IEEE International Symposium on Wireless Vehicular Communications (WiVeC) will cover all vehicular wireless communications aspects of Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V), Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) and Vehicle-to-Person (V2P) communications, including implications on transport efficiency and safety, implications on automotive electronics, liability issues, standardizations efforts and spectrum assignment. Unlike mobile ad hoc and sensor networks, the mesh nodes in a WMN are stationary and have access to unlimited power. Typically, mobile clients connect to the mesh nodes and use the backbone to communicate with one another over large distances and with nodes on the Internet through a gateway. One of the distinct characteristics of WMNs is that the mesh nodes can employ multiple radios and utilize multiple channels which thereby bring a potential to improve the throughput and bandwidth of the network. In addition, directional and multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antennas can be employed. Such technologies can be exploited for end-to-end Quality of Service (QoS) provisioning that can be used to offer some level of service differentiation to facilitate multimedia/real-time data communication, Video on Demand, VoIP, etc. over WMNs. Prior research on QoS provisioning in mobile ad hoc and sensor networks has mostly addressed the challenges under the single channel paradigm. While the research community has recently started to study the QoS challenges in WMNs, the current focus has largely been on bandwidth guarantees for traffic going out of the WMN to the Internet via the gateway(s). Therefore, further research is needed to provide QoS guarantees for intra-WMN traffic not only on bandwidth but also on delay, delay jitter and reliability so that WMNs can be realized as a technology in the near future. The goal of this special issue is to collect papers in the area of QoS provisioning in multi-radio, multi-channel, multi-hop WMNs. We solicit papers which will address QoS challenges under multiple radios and channels, provide the foundation for applications such as Video on Demand, teleconferencing and VoIP, and deal with channel assignment and routing problems simultaneously. Topics of interest include, but not limited to: - QoS routing with multiple radios/channels - Providing delay and delay jitter guarantees - Cross-layer design and optimization - Dynamic channel assignment with QoS routing - MIMO techniques for QoS provisioning - Handling mobility of mesh clients during QoS support - Performance analysis - Wireless mesh network testbed design and measurements - Fault-tolerance and QoS provisioning - Security and QoS provisioning - Utilization of cognitive radio for QoS provisioning - Centralized vs. distributed QoS algorithms Important Dates: - Manuscript Due: November 14, 2008 - Acceptance Notification: January 14, 2009 - Final Manuscript Due: February 4, 2009 Submission Guidelines: All submissions to the Journal must be in English and based on original research of some fundamental significance. Users dislocated all over the globe are enabled to work with a variety of tools and graphical user interfaces to communicate and jointly solve problems using sophisticated graphical interfaces. Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) is a hot topic which will most likely increase the impact on ROIAs. The grid and its technologies is known to provide a sophisticated basis for ROIAs and collaborative work. This event encourages paper submissions concerning the application and usage of real-time online Gird applications, as well as the technologies supporting them in scientific and industrial context. Authors are expected to emphasize the benefits of their real-time online applications for human users with focus on up-to-date characteristics of hard-, soft and middleware aspects. This workshop offers the possibility to discuss the different approaches Real-Time Online Interactive Applications (ROIA) on the GRID and supportive technologies, to show the latest results, products, or research prototypes to potential users, and to establish connections between developers and users of associated technologies. Several pivotal challenges include copyright protection, integrity verification, authentication, and access control etc. As a consequence, the subject of security protection in multimedia communication has attracted intensive research activities in academia, industry and also government. Multimedia data like images, audios or videos are different from plain text. They are often of large volumes and are compressed in order to save the storage cost and bandwidth. Due to such requirement and property, the media protection mechanisms for images, audios or videos are significantly different from the ones for text or binary data. With the recent advances in network and multimedia technology, the applications in commercial scenario become increasing crucial. There is an increasing trend in the multimedia content distribution from the central service provider to the individuals, e.g. video-on-demand, IPTV and p2p sharing. In these applications, piracy is becoming a critical issue. Solutions are needed to protect the copyright of multimedia content. During the past decades, schemes have been reported for secure multimedia communication, e.g., key management, multimedia encryption, authentication, digital watermarking, digital fingerprinting, access control and digital rights management. These techniques are able to protect multimedia content's confidentiality, integrity, ownership, traitor traceability. In addition, in different networks such as Internet, 3G wireless, DVB-H and p2p, different secure protocols and algorithms are required to provide the system security. All these topics are in active development. This special issue aims to expose the readership of SCN to the latest research results on secure multimedia communication. More importantly, it also provides a venue for all participants to "network" with their peers and established networks researchers, obtain valuable guidance tips and participate in a forum designed specifically to benefit graduate students. We particularly encourage PhD students from the EU convergence regions and Western Balkan countries to take part in the workshop. The seminar is supported by the FP7 PROSENSE project. Applicants should be far enough into their PhD to have a concrete proposal, and have initially outlined the most important issues and proposed research methodology. Format The PhD workshop will be a one-day, seminar-style event, consisting of short presentations followed by roundtable discussions. Nodes in today's challenged networks often include mobile nodes, space-based nodes, sensor/actuator nodes and other devices. Performance of the network paths interconnecting such nodes can be highly varying in terms of bandwidth, latency, disruption characteristics and security requirements. Conventional Internet access in performance-limited environments such as developing countries can also be regarded as challenged networks as can be ad-hoc communication between personal devices. The Internet protocol architecture suffers some problems when used in a challenged network setting. For example, when disconnection and reconnection is common or link performance is highly variable or extreme, one or more of the traditional Internet protocols do not work well. In this workshop following CHANTS 2007, CHANTS 2006 and WDTN 2005, we wish to explore ongoing efforts in dealing with physical networks that operate significantly differently from wired, connected networks and the protocol architectures and algorithms used to deal with such situations. Techniques for making applications tolerant to disruptions and/or high delays are also in scope. CHANTS 2008 Demonstration Program offers an excellent way to showcase to attendees from academia and industry tangible results from research and development in the exciting area of challenged networks. Demos have the ability to communicate ideas and concepts in a very powerful way. We invite you to contribute your vision and experience with challenged networks to CHANTS 2008 Demonstration Program. Demo proposals shall present recent practical results from the area of challenged networks. In exceptional cases, where live demos are simply not practical to present, poster or video presentations of practical results are acceptable, too.
