DCOSS 2021 Workshops
Extended Submission Date May 21st - Online Format
Call for Papers
https://dcoss.org/workshops/
Due to the pandemic, DCOSS 2021 Workshops will be held in an online manner, without physical attendance. Still, all accepted papers will be included in the IEEE Proceedings as planned, in the same volume with the main event. Reduced registration fees will apply.
Workshops constitute an essential part of the technical program of the annual International Conference on Distributed Computing in Sensor Systems (DCOSS) 2021.
The aim of the conference workshops is to emphasize emerging topics not specifically covered in the main conference. The workshops will highlight current topics related to scientific and technical issues in communications and networking, and include a mix of regular papers and invited talks and presentations in order to encourage the participation of attendees in active discussion.
Prospective authors are invited to submit high-quality original technical papers for the Workshops for presentation at the conference and publication in the DCOSS 2021 Proceedings and IEEE Xplore.
Submission deadline is extended until May 21st. Please refer to the websites of the workshops for author guidelines, and address all questions to the DCOSS 2021 Workshops Chairs:
Enrico Natalizio, Technology Innovation Institute, UAE, enrico.natalizio(a)loria.fr<mailto:enrico.natalizio@loria.fr>

Betreff: [TCCC-ANNOUNCE] IEEE ICNP 2021 Call for Papers *** Now Fully Virtual
IEEE ICNP 2021 Call for Papers
*** COVID-19 Update: Due to the current global COVID-19 pandemic
situation, IEEE ICNP 2021 conference will be held as a full virtual
conference. ***
ICNP, the IEEE International Conference on Network Protocols, is the
premier conference covering all aspects of network protocol research,
including design, analysis, specification, verification, implementation,
and performance. ICNP 2021 will be held virtually from November 2-5, 2021.
Website: https://icnp21.cs.ucr.edu/
Important Dates
- Title/Abstract registration: May 17, 2021 (8:00 p.m. EDT)
- Full paper submission: May 24, 2021 (8:00 p.m. EDT)
- Notification of acceptance: August 3, 2021
- Camera ready version: August 24, 2021
Scope
The conference is soliciting paper submissions with significant research
contributions to the field of network protocol research. Both
experimental studies as well as formal investigations are equally
welcome. Topics traditionally of interest include, but are not limited to:
- All aspects of network protocol research including design,
specification, verification, implementation, measurement, testing, and
analysis.
- Protocols for wireless networks, cellular networks, software-defined
networks, data center networks, social networks, sensor networks,
vehicular networks, and Internet of Things.
- Domain-specific solutions, including protocols for network security,
routing, user privacy, and network management.
- Network protocols meet AI/ML, e.g., application of AI/Machine Learning
to improve network protocols and operations; networking and protocols
for improving the performance of AI/Machine Learning systems.
- Contributions to network architecture, e.g., algorithms and protocols
for network virtualization or future Internet architectures.
- Contributions to other areas of data communications to the extent that
they articulate a strong connection to network protocols, for example by
discussing potential implications on the design or performance of
certain types of network protocols.
Authors who are unsure whether or not their submissions might fit the
scope of the conference are welcome to contact the Program Committee
co-Chairs.
Paper Formatting
Paper submissions should adhere to the IEEE Conference formatting
requirements using the templates available here, and should not exceed
10 pages excluding references. It is the authors' responsibility to
produce readable submissions that comply with the formatting
constraints. Violating the formatting requirements to squeeze in
additional materials will result in a submission being returned without
being reviewed.
Submission and Anonymity Policy
Papers submitted to the conference will be reviewed through a
double-blind review process, where the identities of the authors are
withheld from the reviewers (and that of the reviewers from the
authors). Achieving this goal requires some care to, on the one hand,
preserve the anonymity of your submission, and on the other hand
ensuring proper coverage of related past work, including your own. While
this requirement may seem challenging, the few basic steps listed below
will go a long way towards achieving the desired outcome:
- Remove all authors' identifiers, e.g., names, emails, and
affiliations, from the title page.
- Remove acknowledgments of and identifiers of funding sources.
- Use anonymous names for your files, as source file names are often
embedded in the final output you generate, and therefore accessible as
comments.
- When referring to your own related work, refer to it in the third
person as you would with any other related work by another author.
Besides anonymizing your submission, double-blind reviewing also imposes
additional requirements on both authors and reviewers. Specifically,
while it is permissible for authors to give local talks on their work
and release their paper on a non-peer-reviewed location, e.g., an
institutional repository or even arXiv, care should be exercised to
limit public exposure as much as possible. This requirement includes
refraining from advertising the work on mailing lists and public forums,
and in general limiting as much as possible the odds that program
committee members be exposed to the work and the authors’ identity.
Conversely, program committee members will be advised to neither
actively seek to “reverse engineer” the authors’ identity, nor to
directly share with other program committee members any such information
they may have acquired. All questions regarding possible breaches of the
anonymity covenant that underlies the double-blind review process will
be adjudicated by the Program Committee co-Chairs.
All papers will be provisionally accepted and the final acceptance of
any paper will be subject to shepherding by a member of the program
committee.
Submission and Plagiarism Policy
Papers must present original contributions and can neither be previously
published nor under review by another conference or journal. Papers
containing plagiarized materials will be subject to the IEEE plagiarism
policy and possible penalties and will be rejected without being reviewed.
Best Paper Award and Fast-Track Journal Publication
One of the accepted papers will be selected for the Best Paper award,
and will be fast tracked to the IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking,
with a streamlined journal review process.
Presentation and Registration Requirements
IEEE ICNP requires that at least one of the authors of any accepted
paper must register for the conference at the full rate and be available
to present the paper at the conference. Due to ICNP 2021 being held
virtually because of health considerations, authors of accepted papers
will be expected to present their papers remotely, and those papers will
be included in the conference proceedings and in IEEE Xplore. However,
any paper that is not presented by an author of the paper will be
withdrawn from the proceedings and thus from IEEE Xplore. At least one
author from each accepted paper will be expected to register at the full
rate.

https://www.sigmobile.org/mobisys/2021/cfpd.html
========================================
MobiSys 2021 Call for Posters and Demos
========================================
MobiSys 2021 calls for posters and demos on topics as described
https://www.sigmobile.org/mobisys/2021/cfp.html . Selection of
demonstration and posters will be based on a short abstract, evaluated in
terms of technical merit, innovation, and the potential to stimulate
interesting discussions and exchange of ideas at the conference. The
accepted extended abstracts will be posted on the official conference
website and will be included in the conference proceeding and the ACM
Digital Library. At least one author of an accepted poster or demo must
register for the conference and present the poster in the virtual conference.
## Posters
Posters should describe novel work not published before. The poster track
is meant to introduce new or ongoing work and provide opportunities for
authors to interact directly with conference attendees. Posters are
especially suited for presenting controversial research directions that may
generate discussion, or promising ideas not yet validated through extensive
evaluation. Researchers seeking feedback on their early ideas are welcome
to submit posters. Posters describing open-source software/hardware
components as well as open data are encouraged. The authors of the accepted
posters will be invited to submit an optional short video together with the
camera-ready version.
## Demos
Demos abstracts should describe both the technology being showcased as well
as the user experience of the demo. Briefly explain how this work will be
demonstrated in the virtual conference. If a demo requires additional
special arrangements, please describe them clearly in your submission using
a separate third page (not part of the technical content of the abstract).
The authors of the accepted demos will be invited to submit an optional
short video together with the camera-ready version of the abstract.
We introduce a “Potential for community contribution” certificate to
posters and demos that contributes (and has the potential to further
improve on) to the research community at large through codebase, datasets,
experimental platforms to name a few.
## Submission Guidelines
• Poster submissions must include an extended abstract no longer than two
8.5x11-inch pages, including all figures and references.
• This extended abstract should use the same LaTeX template as full Mobisys
2021 papers; it should be formatted in two columns, single-spaced, and with
a font no smaller than 10-point.
• The title should begin with "Poster:" for posters and “Demos:” for demos.
• Please do not anonymize your submissions.
• Submissions must be in Adobe PDF format, and authors remain responsible
for checking that their resulting PDF meets the MobiSys 2021 formatting
guidelines.
• Submission link for extended abstracts: https://mobisys21poster.hotcrp.com
• Submissions for posters should only include the extended abstract, not
the poster itself.

Aims and Scope
Recently, the rapid development of Unmanned Autonomous Vehicles (UAVs),
also known as drones, has highlighted a plethora of emergent applications
such as infrastructure inspection and surveillance, smart agriculture, seek
and rescue, parcel delivery, communications, and post-disaster recovery. In
all these applications, UAVs may coexist with ground Internet of Things
(IoT) devices. For example, UAVs autonomously perform remote sensing
relaying the collected data by the sensors. Moreover, single or multiple
UAVs can cooperatively collaborate providing services that require
efficient protocols where multiple objectives and constraints should be
accounted for.
For this workshop, we seek papers that combine the design of algorithms and
testbed implementations to develop the theoretical foundations for UAVs as
well as the synergies with IoT devices. The numerous emergent applications
raised by IoT may require an interdisciplinary approach, involving
techniques from algorithm foundations and different areas, such as computer
networks, artificial intelligence, concurrent, parallel and distributed
computing, security, digital signal, image and sound processing.

The Sixth International Conference on Fog and Mobile Edge Computing (FMEC
2021)
http://emergingtechnet.org/FMEC2021/index.php
Gandia, Spain. December 6-9, 2021
*FMEC 2021 CFP:*
Cloud computing provides a large range of services and virtually unlimited
available resources for users. New applications, such as virtual reality
and smart building control, have emerged due to the large number of
resources and services brought by cloud computing. However, the
delay-sensitive applications face the problem of large latency, especially
when several smart devices and objects are getting involved in human’s life
such as the case of smart cities or the Internet of Things. Therefore,
cloud computing is unable to meet the requirements of low latency, location
awareness, and mobility support. To solve this problem, researchers have
introduced a trusted and dependable solution through the Fog and the Mobile
Edge Computing (FMEC) to put the services and resources of the cloud closer
to users, which facilitates the leveraging of available services and
resources in the edge networks. By this, we are moving from the core (cloud
data centers) to the edge of the network closer to the users. FMEC
dependability is based on providing user centric service. The purpose of
Fog and the Mobile Edge Computing is to run the heavy real-time
applications at the network edge directly using the billions of connected
mobile devices.
Several features enable the Fog and the Mobile Edge Computing to be a
perfect paradigm to the aforementioned purpose, which are the dense
geographical deployment of servers, supporting mobility and the closeness
to users. As in every new technology, some challenges face the vision of
the Fog and the Mobile Edge Computing, which are the administrative
policies and security concerns (i.e. secure data storage, secure
computation, network security, data privacy, usage privacy, location
privacy, etc). FMEC 2021 conference aims to investigate the opportunities
and requirements for Mobile Edge Computing dominance. In addition, it seeks
for novel contributions that help mitigating Mobile Edge Computing
challenges. That is, the objective of FMEC 2021 is to provide a forum for
scientists, engineers, and researchers to discuss and exchange new ideas,
novel results and experience on all aspects of Fog and Mobile Edge
Computing (FMEC). FMEC 2021 is Technically Co-Sponsored by IEEE Spain
