Dear Lars,
It is my pleasure to introduce you to [IEEE Data Descriptions](https://www.ieee-data.org/) (IEEE-DATA), a gold, fully open access periodical published on behalf of all IEEE Societies and Technical Councils. This journal specializes in peer-reviewed, concise articles detailing datasets across various domains, promoting open and reproducible scientific research.
You are invited to be among the early contributors to have your article peer-reviewed and published in the journal where your research will be exposed to nearly 8 million unique monthly users of the IEEE Xplore® Digital Library. The rapid peer-reviewed process targets a publication time frame of less than 10 weeks for most accepted papers.
The journal’s primary aim is to enhance dataset visibility and utility through comprehensive descriptions, which include data collection methods, data quality assessments, and detailed metadata. To ensure the datasets are broadly usable, they must be findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable, with a strong preference for storage on IEEE DataPort or other permanent repositories.
There are three types of articles that can be submitted for review: descriptors, collections, and metadata.
- Descriptor articles (the main type of article published) describe the published (or soon-to-be-published) dataset. In essence, this is a detailed manual on the dataset — what it is and how to use it.
- Collections articles follow the lead and expectations of Descriptor articles and will focus on groups of datasets collected during or created from a competition, hackathon, or event.
- Meta articles depart from but follow the lead and expectations of Descriptor articles. Meta articles are articles that allow for discussion about data. Authors can express their findings about data in several areas, including, but not limited to: standardized formats for data in a given area (e.g., collecting power data from sub-stations), surveys of several datasets of a given type (e.g., GIS, time-series, etc.), data that are a library of models for a given AI or machine learning algorithm or system, data or dataset that is metadata of existing published datasets, comparing many similar datasets in an area to create meta-statistics data; or, any other data topics that may not have traditional scientific experimental results.
Visit [our website](https://www.ieee-data.org/) for more information and instructions on how to [submit your manuscript](https://ieee.atyponrex.com/journal/ieeedata) today.
Best regards,
Stephen Makonin

PAPER SUBMISSION AND PUBLICATION
----------------------------------------------------
Papers should neither have been published elsewhere nor be currently under
review at another venue. All papers for IEEE SECON 2024 must be submitted
via the conference submission system. Each submission must be no longer
than 9 pages (including all the figures, references, and appendices) and in
font size of 10 points. Submissions that violate the formatting guidelines
will be rejected without review.
All submitted papers will be judged based on their quality and relevance
through double-blind reviewing, where the identities of the authors are
withheld from the reviewers. As an author, you are required to preserve the
anonymity of your submission, while at the same time allowing the reader to
fully grasp the context of related past work, including your own. Common
sense and careful writing will go a long way towards preserving anonymity.
Papers that do not conform to our double-blind submission policies will be
rejected without review.
Use the standard IEEE Transactions templates for Microsoft Word or LaTeX
formats at https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates.html. If
the paper is typeset in LaTeX, please use an unmodified version of the
LaTeX template IEEEtran.cls version 1.8, and use the preamble:
\documentclass[10pt, conference, letterpaper]{IEEEtran}
Do not use additional LaTeX commands or packages to override and change the
default typesetting choices in the template, including line spacing, font
sizes, margins, space between the columns, and font types. This implies
that the manuscript must use 10-point Times font, two-column formatting, as
well as all default margins and line spacing requirements as dictated by
the original version of IEEEtran.cls version 1.8. A smaller font size, up
to 8pt, is allowed for reference pages. You can ignore any warning of the
submission system for the reference pages.
If you are using Microsoft Word to format your paper, you should use an
unmodified version of the Microsoft Word IEEE Transactions template (US
letter size). Regardless of the source of your paper formatting, you must
submit your paper in the Adobe PDF format.
The paper must print clearly and legibly, including all the figures, on
standard black-and-white printers. Reviewers are not required to read your
paper in color.
The organizers of IEEE SECON 2024 as well as our attendees expect accepted
papers to be presented at the conference. IEEE reserves the right to
exclude a paper from distribution after the conference (e.g., removal from
IEEE Xplore) if the paper is not presented at the conference.

CALL FOR TECHNICAL PAPERS
---------------------------
The Web of Things (WoT) envisions semantic interoperability by re-using
well-accepted standards and technologies that have enabled the World Wide
Web (WWW). Unlike stack-oriented solutions (e.g., ZigBee), WoT proposes to
achieve system interoperability at the application layer by abstracting
from the sensing and communication technologies: in a rough approximation,
Things are represented using Web technologies and interactions with Things
are mapped to uniform RESTful concepts.
This workshop invites original research articles and review articles that
focus on the Web of Things and interoperability challenges in IoT scenarios.
---------------------------
TOPICS
---------------------------
-Interoperability in the Internet of Things
    Semantic interoperability
    Web of Things
