SMARTCOMP 2024 is the 10th edition of the premier conference on Smart
Computing. Smart computing is a multidisciplinary domain based on the
synergistic influence of advances in sensor-based technologies, the
Internet of Things, cyber-physical systems (CPS), edge computing, big data
analytics, machine learning, cognitive computing, and artificial
intelligence. Applications of smart computing can be found in different
societal domains including, but not limited to, transportation, energy,
environmental protection, smart and connected communities, healthcare,
banking, industrial systems, entertainment, and social media. Algorithmic
and system advancements in cloud computing, mobile/pervasive computing,
cyber-physical systems, sensor networking, and social computing are taking
smart computing to a new dimension and improving our ways of living.
The Posters session will provide a forum to discuss novel ideas and
emerging results, present innovative applications and tools, and bring
about novel research questions, approaches, and directions. The Demo
session will particularly provide a forum to discuss preliminary works,
platform design and implementation, verification and validation, empirical
case studies, and other work that has the potential to advance the state of
the art in CPS.

While the submission format is the same, the goals for Posters and Demo are
different:
- Posters: we welcome short papers discussing early or ongoing research
activities for Posters. Novel approaches and preliminary results are
especially appreciated.
- Demo papers: they should naturally focus explicitly on the component that
will be demonstrated to the audience and how the attendees will be able to
interact. They should also contain an overview of the background research
leading up to the Demo.
All submitted Posters and Demos will be subject to peer reviews by
SMARTCOMP Technical Program Committee members and other experts in the
field. At least one author of each accepted paper must register and attend
the conference to present the work.
Papers must be submitted electronically as a single PDF file on US Letter
size paper (not A4), with all fonts embedded (the PDF-A standard complies
with that), through EDAS. Select Posters or Demo Track at the following
link: https://edas.info/newPaper.php?c=31643.

Submissions must be full papers, at most 12 single-spaced 8.5” x 11” pages with 10-pt font size in two-column format, including figures and tables. As for references, submissions may include as many pages as needed. All submissions must use the LaTeX (preferred) or Word styles found from https://www.acm.org/publications/proceedings-template
LaTeX submissions should use the acmart.cls template (sigconf option), with the 10-pt font. The 9-pt format will be used for the camera-ready version of accepted papers. Authors must make a good faith effort to anonymize their submissions. Although submission is double-blind, existence or availability of non-anonymous preprints (on arXiv or other preprint servers) will not lead to your paper being rejected. Reviewers will be instructed not to actively look for such preprints, but encountering them will not constitute a conflict of interest. Papers that do not meet the size, formatting, and anonymization requirements will not be reviewed. We require each paper to be in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) and submitted through the conference submission system at https://sensys24.hotcrp.com/
Papers that describe experiments on human subjects, or that analyze nonpublic data derived from human subjects (even anonymized data), should briefly describe how the research protocol addresses ethical considerations and whether their work was vetted by an ethics review (e.g., IRB approval). We expect authors to follow the rules of their host institutions around data collection and experiments with human subjects.

They are limited to at most two (2) pages and their title must begin
with "Demo:".
Please note that these categories (in particular: full paper and short
paper) target different kinds of contributions. Papers submitted to one
category will NOT be moved to a different category: a paper will either
be accepted in the category where it has been submitted, or it will be
rejected (in particular: full papers will not be "downgraded" to short
papers). Therefore, please be sure to carefully assess for yourself
prior to submission which is the most suitable submission category for
your paper, and to make sure that the presentation in the manuscript is
well suited to the aims of this category.
========================================================================
*Submission Process*
========================================================================
Submitted papers must be IEEE compliant Adobe PDF files written in
English, formatted in standard IEEE two-column format with a font size
no less than 10-point. Reviewing is not double-blind, so authors may
include their names, affiliations, and other identifying information in
submitted manuscripts. Only compliant files will be accepted for review.
All submissions must be made electronically through EDAS.

- * Overview * -
As an emerged promising networking model, the Internet-
Of-Things (IoT) is a novel paradigm to interconnect a multi-
tude of heterogeneous physical objects and devices. The IoT
Significantly provides an umbrella for a series of critical
building technologies including wireless sensor networks
(WSNs), fifth generation (5G) networks, and RFID. The phil-
osophy of the IoT is to develop an intelligent, dynamic,
large-scale, and coherent network framework for a wide range
of applications and industries. Due to its potential advant-
ages and merits such as high reliability, good scalability,
and intelligent capacity, the IoT has attracted great atten-
tions and interests from both academia and industry.
The 2024 IEEE International Conference of Internet on
Internet of Things (iThings 2024) will provide a high-profi-
le, leading-edge forum for researchers, engineers, and prac-
titioners from both academic and industrial communities to
present state-of-the-art advances and innovations in theori-
es, systems, infrastructure, tools, testbeds, technologies,
and applications for the IoT, as well as to identify emergi-
ng research topics and define the future of everything inte-
rconnect via cyberspace.
