CALL FOR PAPERS

International Wireless Communications & Mobile Computing Conference (IWCMC
12) - Mobile Computing Symposium

EXTENDED SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Jan 20, 2012

Cyprus, August 27-31, 2012

Scope and Motivation

The Mobile Computing Symposium aims at providing the state-of-the-art
research towards understanding the fundamentals of mobile computing and
networking system. Mobile Computing is expected to encompass heterogeneous
access technologies and the Internet backbone for providing multimedia
services to both mobile and stationary users. It poses significant
technical challenges to enable broadband wireless access with seamless and
ubiquitous coverage and quality-of-service provisioning.

The objective of this symposium is to serve as an international forum for
experts from academia and industry to exchange ideas and results on
research and development, and to promote and accelerate standardization,
applications, and services of current and future wireless communication
networks. Prospective authors are invited to submit original contributions
on all aspects in wireless networks, applications and services.

Topics of Interest

The Mobile Computing Symposium welcomes original contributions not
published or reviewed by any other journals or conferences. Papers dealing
with fundamental problems associated with the topical areas and describing
novel uses of communication and computation theory to solve such problems
are of special interest. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
• Network architecture
• Network planning
• Network Economics
• Broadband wireless access
• Cellular networks
• B3G/4G wireless networks
• WiMAX networks
• Wireless ad hoc and mesh networks
• Wireless local area networks
• Wireless personal area networks
• Ultra-wideband networks
• Wireless sensor networks
• Cognitive wireless networks
• Reconfigurable wireless networks
• Multimode wireless networks
• Vehicular wireless networks
• Home entertainment networks
• All-IP networks
• Ubiquitous coverage
• Cloud computing

Guideline for Authors

Authors are invited to submit original unpublished work, not currently
under review by another conference, workshop or journal. Full papers should
be restricted to 6 camera-ready pages (in 10 pt font, double column, US
letter size, 8.5 x 11 inches, ACM format), including text, figures and
references. Authors should use only standard fonts, i.e. Times Roman,
Courier, Symbol, Helvetica or equivalent.

Papers must be submitted electronically via EDAS (
http://edas.info/newPaper.php?c=11197). All papers must include title,
complete contact information of all authors, abstract and up to 5 keywords
on the cover page. The corresponding author must be clearly identified.

Submitted papers will be reviewed by three independent experts in the
field. Proceedings of the symposium will be published together with those
of other IWCMC symposia and workshops. Accepted and presented papers will
be included in the IEEE Xplore Database.

Selected papers will be further invited to be considered for possible
publication in one of five special issues in the following Journals:
1. Wiley Journal of Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing
(WCMC): http://www3.interscience.wiley.com/journal/76507157/home
2. The International Journal of Sensor Networks (IJSNet):

3. The International Journal of Autonomous and Adaptive Communications
Systems (IJAACS): http://www.inderscience.com/ijaacs
4. KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Systems:
