Call for Contributions ***1st International Workshop on Teaching the Internet of Things (Teach-IoT)*** co-located with the International Conference on Embedded Wireless Systems and Networks (EWSN) 2025 in Leuven, Belgium
The Internet of Things has been one of the most fastly growing research topics and becomes increasingly important also for the industry. It spans various applications, from environmental monitoring and agriculture to industry 4.0 and medical devices and is thus relevant for most students at all levels and in many different disciplines. However, this topic is also inherently hard to teach because of the necessity to teach on real embedded hardware that is costly and complex to handle.
This workshop invites researchers, teachers and industry practitioners around the globe to present and share their experience in terms of teaching and training methods, best practices, hardware and software platforms, project and application topics, and associated materials they use in their teaching activities. The goal is to produce a comprehensive repository of the state of the art in this area, potentially resulting in a joint database to be shared publicly and a joint publication after the workshop.
We solicit submissions that can generate significant interest and discussions at the workshop, as well as joint future collaborations and sharing of materials. We accept submissions in two different types as follows:
Full Papers: The full paper submissions must be at least 4 pages and up to 6 pages, including references.
Extended Demo Abstracts: We highly welcome software/hardware/testbed demonstrations of teaching materials in the form of an extended abstract up to 1 page.
All accepted submissions will be invited for an oral presentation at the workshop and will be published in the workshop proceedings. All submissions must be original work not under review at any other workshop, conference, or journal.
Submissions must follow the formatting guidelines as stated by the main conference, must be written in English and submitted in PDF format. More information on the workshop website: https://blogs.uni-bremen.de/teachingiot/
