Following the International Conference on Entertainment Computing 2005 (ICEC 2005) held at Kwansei Gakuin University in Sanda, we will move to Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan, and there we will have Second Workshop on Ubiquitous Home on September 21 and 22, 2005. The theme of this year’s workshop is “Ubiquitous Society and Entertainment.”
As more and more computers have been introduced into our life and our society, our society is rapidly changing into a ubiquitous society. What kind of technologies will play important roles in the ubiquitous home and/or society? What kind of new entertainment will emerge? What will our life style be like in the ubiquitous society? What will be the relationship between entertainment, society, and culture? It is important for even researchers/engineers to consider and to discuss these issues. The main topic of the workshop is technologies for the ubiquitous home/society as well as entertainment. At the same time it is strongly encouraged to submit interdisciplinary papers focusing on the psychological and sociological aspect of ubiquitous home/society as well as entertainment.
The main sponsor of the workshop, National Institute of Communications and Technologies (NICT) cordially invites you to attend this interdisciplinary workshop. Basically, the main part of the workshop is complementary, but attendees should cover accommodation fee and special event fee (optional).

*Technical Papers*
We recommend authors to prepare their papers following Springer’s submission form. They will find instructions at Springer’s Authors’ Instruction page. Papers should be written in English and must be no longer than 10 pages, including references, appendices, and figures. They must include title, author names, contacts and affiliations, abstract, keywords, body, and references. The abstract must be within 150 words and included in the paper. All papers will be reviewed by an international program committee. Accepted papers will be included in the proceedings to be published by the workshop organizer.
Papers should be sent in PDF format to paper@khn.nict.go.jp by July 1, 2005.
Information regarding a contact author's email address, postal mailing address, and phone number also must be sent to the e-mail address.
