IEEE Access invitesmanuscript submissions in the area of Resource Management in Vehicular Ad-hocNetworks: Energy Management, Communication Protocol and Future Applications.
Vehicular Adhoc Network(VANET) is defined as a subclass of Mobile Ad-hoc Networks which holds thecharacteristics of ad-hoc networks. However, due to the dynamic roadconditions, traffic flow theory concepts, mobility constraints, humaninteraction, and vehicular characteristics, VANETs exhibits different behavior. With the advancements and ongoing research in wireless communication, VANETsare integrated with different emerging technologies as well. The concept is implementedin every domain of life starting from intelligent transportation, safe andsecures road journeys, smart and green technologies and ending on businessoriented services for societies. This attracts and arise different areas ofinterest for researchers to deal with the VANETs issues during itsimplementations and operations.
The focus of thisSpecial Section is to highlight and summarize the efforts and ongoing researchwork on the issue of resource management in VANETs. The issue will be coveringthe energy management, communication protocols and future applications ofVANETs. These include Internet of Vehicles, VANETs Clouds, VANETs based SmartGrid, Software Define Networking in VANETs and Unmaned Arial Vehiclesintegration with VANETs. This will provide the opportunity for researchcommunity across the globe to share their ideas on these newly emerging fieldsof VANETs.
The topics for thisSpecial Section include:
Energy Management inVANETs:
· Energy management in Internet ofVehicles (IOV) communication.
· Renewable energy resources for VANETscloud.
· Energy management in electric vehiclesrecharging.
· Managing energy resources invehicles-to-home communications.
· Energy issues in Software definenetworking for VANETs.
Communication Protocolsin VANETs:
· Multimedia communication n VANETs.
· Energy aware routing protocols forVANETs.
· Network coding for VANETs.
· Communication protocols for IOVs.
· Mac layer issues undervehicles-to-grid and vehicle-to-home applications.
· Secure communication in VANETs.
Future Applications ofVANETs:
· VANET role towards Green environments.
· Vehicular cyber physical system.
· VANETs and Smart Grid.
· Applications of vehicular Grid.
We also highly recommendthe submission of multimedia with each article as it significantly increasesthe visibility, downloads, and citations of articles.
