-------------------------------------------------------- -- Call for Papers -- -- -- -- EuroMicro 2006 -- -- Multimedia and Telecommunications Track -- -- Dependable Adaptive Systems -- -- Aug. 28th - Sept. 1st, 2006 -- -- Cavtat/Dubrovnik, Croatia -- -- -- -- -- -- http://www.sea.uni-linz.ac.at/euromicro2006/ -- -- -- --------------------------------------------------------
Dependability and adaptivity are vital attributes especially for fixed/mobile multimedia systems and communication networks that pervade every aspect of our daily lives. As we increasingly rely on correct and safe functioning of such systems and networks there is an increasing concern about malicious exploitation of imperfect systems and networks and intentional network-attacks as well as the traditional concerns for inadvertent or accidental faults, errors, and failures.
This conference track attempts to provide a platform for presenting and discussing new approaches and technologies aiming to enhance the dependability and adaptivity of distributed multimedia systems. Especially multimedia applications in different domains like automotive, healthcare, commerce and financial services should be addressed. We invite you to contribute to this conference track by submitting proposals in one or more of the categories outlined below.
Multimedia
* Dependability in multimedia systems * Dependability modeling and prediction * Adaptivity of multimedia streams * Middleware and reflective systems support for wireless multimedia * Push technologies and content distribution * Service oriented multimedia * Mobile & wireless multimedia * Adaptive devices for multimedia * Digital entertainment * Innovative applications
Telecommunications
* Dependability in fixed and mobile environments * Dependability measurement and analysis * Network adaptivity * NGN for multimedia * P2P multimedia systems * Caching and content management * Self engineering communications * Performance evaluation of fixed and mobile networks * QoS control and scheduling * 3G and beyond
We encourage submissions demonstrating the potential of new approaches by providing case studies, experiments, and quantitative data.
Submission of papers --------------------
Prospective authors are encouraged to submit a PDF version of their paper to
Papers should not exceed 8 pages (in IEEE/CS proceedings format; 10pt, single-space, double-column) or 6000 words and include an abstract of up to 150 words. A cover page should clearly show the name, mailing address, e-mail address and fax number of the author to contact, as well as the topic areas of the submitted paper. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings by IEEE. Selected papers will be offered the opportunity to appear as extended versions in a special issue of a scholarly journal.
The following signed statement should be included on the cover page: "Neither this paper nor any version close to it has been or is being offered elsewhere for publication. All necessary clearances have been obtained for the publication of this paper. If accepted, the paper will be made available in Camera-ready forms by June 9th 2006, and it will be personally presented at the EUROMICRO 2006 Conference by the author or one of the co-authors. The presenting author(s) will pre- register (full fee) for EUROMICRO 2006 before the due date of the Camera-ready paper."
