==================== WSUPT'08 CALL FOR PAPERS ========================== The 2008 Workshop on Simulation of Urban Planning and Transportation Systems(WSUPT'08) (http://www.cc.chu.edu.tw/~sclo)
in conjunction with The 2008 IEEE 11th International Conference on Computational Science and Engineering (CSE 2008) Sao Paulo - Brazil July 16-18, 2008
Welcome Message The 2008 IEEE 11th International Conference on Computational Science and Engineering is mainly intended to be an open forum for discussion on the current trends and future directions of advanced computing for science and engineering application. This workshop focuses on the area of simulation techniques and application for urban planning and transportation systems. The aim of this workshop is to provide original material and up-to-date synthesis of the state of modern transportation analysis, simulation of urban planning and strategies, simulation of urbanization and regional development, logistics and interdisciplinary application of scientific computing in urban and transportation studies.
We therefore invite urban and regional planners, transportation researchers, computational scientists and engineers, computer scientists and applied mathematicians to present their recent advances, ideas, results and to exchange experiences in the areas of modeling, simulation, optimization and other support for problems in urban planning and transportation systems. This workshop is considered as a special workshop in conjunction with the 2008 IEEE 11th International Conference on Computational Science and Engineering (CSE 2008). We welcome contributions from researchers of academia and industry.
Best Regards, Workshop Chair Prof. Shih-Ching Lo Department of Transportation Technology and Logistics Management, Chung Hua University, Hsinchu 300, Taiwan
Workshop Topics Topics of interest include (but are not limited to): - Urban Planning Strategy, development and management - Social differences and urbanization - Financial Topics on Urban Planning - Modeling and Simulation of transportation systems - Transportation demand analysis - Land use and transport integration - Collaboration of Public and Private Sector - Theories and method from operational research - Investment and optimum use of transport infrastructure and regional development - Environmental Protection, risk and impact - Logistics and operations models, especially with application; - Logistics and supply-chain management topics;

Important Dates - Full papers submission: March 1, 2008 - Notification of acceptance of papers: April 1, 2008 - Camera ready papers: April 25, 2008 - Workshop: July 16-18, 2008
Paper Submission Authors are expected to submit a paper in PDF format with 5-10 keywords following the IEEE CS format. (http://www.computer.org/portal/site/cscps)Program committee members and external reviewers will provide authors with at least three technical reviews. Submitted papers will be ranked based on relevance to the Conference and technical merit. Final version of accepted papers should at most 6 pages and will be published by IEEE Computer Society Press as CSE-08 workshop proceedings. Authors of accepted papers, or at least one of them, are requested to register and present their work at the conference, otherwise their papers will be removed from the IEEE Digital Library after the conference.
Please submit your paper to the workshop through the submission page of the workshop (http://cse.stfx.ca/~cse08workshops/sub/). Please select the The 2008 Workshop on Simulation of Urban Planning and Transportation Systems (WSUPT 08) in the frame of Workshop. For any questions, please contact Prof. Shih-Ching Lo via e-mail (sclo@chu.edu.tw).
