International Workshop on
Vehicular Communications, Networks, and Applications (VCNA 2009)
December 14-16, 2009, Kaohsiung, Taiwan
(in conjunction with the 10th International Symposium on Pervasive Systems, Algorithms and Networks, I-SPAN 2009)
Important Dates --------------- Submission Deadline: July 15, 2009 Authors Notification: Aug. 15, 2009 Final Manuscript Due: Sept. 1, 2009 Workshop: Dec. 14-16, 2009
Theme ----- The Vehicular Wireless Networks and Vehicular Intelligent Transportation Systems have recently received much attention. The aim is to improve traffic safety, protect environment by reducing traffic congestion and fuel consumption, and enable a plethora of new applications such as mobile infotainment. To facilitate both safety and non-safety applications, there is a necessity to integrate communications and computing technologies into vehicular and transportation systems. To facilitate these applications, many different types of communications and networking would be involved, including intra-vehicle, vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), vehicle-to-roadside (V2R) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communications. Therefore, this workshop intends to foster state-of-the-art research in the areas of Vehicular Communications, Networks, and Applications through a forum for novel results and solutions to solve various problems and challenges foreseen in the future. The topical areas covered by this workshop include but are not limited to:
- Network Architecture of V-Winet/V-ITS - V-Winet/V-ITS Services and Applications - Cooperative Aspects of V-Winet/V-ITS - Availability and Scalability Issues in V-Winet/V-ITS - Mobility, Traffic Models and Network Management for V-Winet/V-ITS - Cross-layer Optimization Techniques for V-Winet/V-ITS - Modulation, Coding, and Channel Modeling for V-Winet/V-ITS - Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communication Protocols - Vehicle-to-Roadside Communication Protocols - Vehicle-to-Infrastructure Communication Protocols - Simulation Framework and Real-World Testbeds for V-Winet/V-ITS - Driving Safety and Related Applications and Services - Green Technologies and V-Winet/V-ITS - Cooperative Vehicular Communications - Cross-layer Design and Optimization for Vehicular Communication Networks - Intra-vehicle, V2I, V2R, and V2V Communication Protocols - MAC, Routing, Congestion Control, Multicast, Mobility Management, etc. - Network Architecture for Vehicular Communication Networks - Physical Layer and RF Level Technologies - Radio Resource Management and QoS Support - Real-time Experimental Systems and Testbeds for Vehicular Communications - Safety and Non-safety Applications and Services - Security and Privacy Technologies - Mobility and Vehicle Traffic Models
Paper Submission ---------------- Authors are invited to submit original papers: they must not substantially duplicate work that any of the authors have published elsewhere or have submitted in parallel to any other conferences that have proceedings. Papers must be written in English and must be in standard IEEE conference format limited to a maximum of 6 pages. The proceedings of the workshop will be published by IEEE Computer Society Press and indexed by EI. Submitting a paper to the workshop means that if the paper is accepted, at least one author should attend the workshop to present the paper. For no-show authors, their papers will be removed fromthe digital library after the conference. All submissions must be in PDF and will be handled electronically through:
