WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
---------------------
Serious Games is an emerging topic. More and More fields in research and industry discover the great possibilities Serious Games provide for various subjects as employee training, education, sports, medical science, fire brigade, tourism, society, aviation, military training etc. Although Serious Games is circulating in broad and heterogeneous fields it has not reached the multimedia community yet. The aim of this workshop should be the initiation of a Serious Game forum within multimedia. The concept of Serious Games offer immense opportunity to change education and game area but there is still a lot of room for improvement in gameplay, user experience, communication of learning content. We will assemble all disciplines in Multimedia to discuss how multimedia can be enrichment for Serious Games – which prospects provide Multimedia in connection with Serious Games. We will converse questions such as how alternate input and out devices are able to improve the gameplay, how innovations in communications of Multiplayer games can increase learning success and user experience, do game engines have the power to ease the production of Serious Games, how can augmented and virtual reality effect gameplay and user experience,…
