Resource Management and Scheduling Techniques for Cluster and Grid Computing Systems in conjunction with THE 2004 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON COMPUTATIONAL SCIENCE AND ITS APPLICATIONS (ICCSA 2004) May 14 - May 17, 2004 S. Maria degli Angeli, Assisi(PG), Italy
Call for Papers =============== Cluster and Grid Systems (CGS) are becoming ubiquitous computing infrastructure for the coordinated use of shared resources in a distributed environment. The key to making the CGS work well is the middleware technologies that can efficiently allocate resources as well as manage the data, policies, securrity, networks, and so forth. A tremendous effort has been made and is still underway to provide and fine tune a number of middleware technologies allowing cluster and grid users to access large resources in order to solve the most challenging computational problems. This sepcial session on Resource Management and Scheduling Techniques for Cluster and Grid Computing Systems will serve as a forum to present current and future work as well as to exchange research ideas by researchers, developers, practitioners, and users in cluster and grid computing. We are soliciting original high quality research papers on topics of interest that include but are not limited to:
*Resource Management and Scheduling *Data Access and Management *Advance Resource Reservation and Scheduling *Computational Economy Based Resource Management and Scheduling *Policy and Security Management *Performance Evaluation and Modeling *Remote Data Access and Management *Workload and Data Management Services *Agent and Multi-agent Based Resource Managemen *Load Sharing and Load Balancing Techniqueus *Resource and Service Discovery Approachs *Fault-Tolerant Resource Management Approachs *Peer To Peer Technologies for Resource Discovery and Management *Grid Portals for Configuration, Management and Monitoring *Grid Portal design (e.g., Web access to computational Grids and Web access to knowledge Grids) *Network Resource Allocation
Submisssion Information ======================= Authors are invited to submit papers of not more than 15 pages electronically (PS or PDF format, compressed) or by mail (3 paper copies) in the following address: Jemal H. Abawajy Centre for Parallel and Distributed Computing School of Computer Science, Carleton University, Ottawa, K1S 5B6, CANADA abawjem@scs.carleton.ca
Submitted papers will be evaluated on significance, originality, technical quality, and exposition. Accepted papers will appear in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science series (LNCS), Springer-Verlag. The submitted papers must be camera-ready and formatted according to the rules of LNCS (see http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html). Some authors would be invited to extend their papers for possible speciall issue journal.
IMPORTANT DATES ================== December 31, 2003 : Electronic Submision February 1, 2004 : Notification of acceptance. February 15, 2004 : Deadline of Camera Ready Papers and Pre-registration. May 14 17, 2004 : ICCSA 2004 Conference in S. Maria degli Angeli, Assisi (PG), Italy.
