*CALL FOR PAPERS CALL FOR WORKSHOPS*
*The 13th International Symposium on Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications Towards Autonomous Network Infrastructure
October 11-14, 2010 | Mar Hotel, Recife, Brazil
http://iecom.dee.ufcg.edu.br/~wpmc2010/*
The Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications Symposium 2010 (WPMC-2010) will be held in Recife, Brazil. The WPMC Symposia series was inaugurated in 1998 at Yokosuka Research Park, Japan, as a forum for enabling collaboration in the field of wireless multimedia communications. Over the years WPMC has been held in Asia, Europe and North America, and has established itself as a unique global symposium dedicated to wireless multimedia convergence.
Continuing the series, the 13th edition of the symposium will come to South America and will have the theme “Towards Autonomous Network Infrastructure". This theme highlights the current dynamism in the area of network infrastructure development and the emerging interest on autonomous networks as a means to realize the high capacity large networks (small cell) required for the provision of cost effective broadband wireless multimedia services in large wireless markets such as that of Brazil. In addition to high-level technical sessions, the Symposium will feature keynote presentations, special technical sessions, panel discussions and tutorials.
The scope of the symposium includes but is not limited to the following topics:
Network Deployment and Management Technologies • Autonomous infrastructure wireless networks • Self-configurable networks • Self-managed networks • RF plug-and-play devices • Seamless micro/macro cell networks • Organic network evolution • User deployed infrastructure • Femto-cell networks • 3G/LTE autonomic evolution
Air-Interface Technologies • Techniques for capacity and range extension • Opportunistic and cognitive radios • MIMO techniques and adaptive antennas • Radio propagation
Wireless Network Technologies • Convergence of networks and future network topologies • Co-operative communications • Radio resource management and spectrum policies & management • Trustworthy networks, privacy and security models Applications and Services • Experiments, trials and development • SDR and other implementation technologies • Location based services and positioning • Mobile multimedia and mobile TV • Wellness and healthcare
Systems and Regulation • Mobile cellular systems future development • IEEE 802 systems evolution • Spectrum policies, sharing and coexistence • Mobile multimedia satellite systems • Harmonization and systems coexistence
