CALL FOR PAPERS
IEEE Workshop on Smart Grid Communications: Design for Performance (SGComm 2012)
(in conjunction with IEEE Globecom 2012) Anaheim, California, Friday December 7, 2012
Endorsed by the IEEE Technical Committee on Communications Systems Integration and Modeling (CSIM), the IEEE Technical Committee on Transmission, Access and Optical Systems (TAOS) and the IEEE Communication Society Committee on Smart Grid Communications (SGCC)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Smart Grid Communications Workshop will be a combination of original papers, quick hot topic presentations, distinguished invited speakers and a panel discussion with participants from industry, funding agencies and academia. This will allow workshop participants to obtain a global perspective of the scope of this area and of the technical challenges associated with it, in a participative and interactive manner.
Topics of interest The IEEE Workshop on Smart Grid Communications: Design for Performance (SGComm 2012) will bring together researchers from Academia and Industry, to identify and discuss technical challenges, exchange novel ideas, explore enabling technologies, and report latest research efforts that cover a variety of topics including, but not limited to:
* Communication architectures, networks and protocols for Smart Grid * Smart Grid networking infrastructure design and performance * Networking for smart metering, demand response management and pricing * Wide-area measurement, monitoring and control * Smart cities, buildings and home automation * Security and privacy issues in Smart Grid Communications * Quality of service and cross-layer in Smart Grids * Interconnection & Communications of electric vehicles and Smart Grid * Standardization activities for Smart Grid Communications * Energy efficient mobile and wireless/wired access networks * Architectures and frameworks for energy efficient network services and applications
Submission Procedure Submitted papers must represent original material which is not currently under review in any other conference or journal and has not been previously published. Paper length should not exceed five-pages standard IEEE conference two-column format (including all text, figures, and references). Please refer to the workshop web pages for submission instructions.
All accepted and presented papers will be included in the IEEE GLOBECOM 2012 proceedings. IEEE reserves the right to exclude an accepted and registered but not presented paper from the IEEE digital library. Extended versions of selected best papers will be recommended for publication in Special Issues of prestigious International Journals.
