CALL FOR PAPERS ************************************* The emergence of intelligent connected vehicles, powered by 5G, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, big data, and other advanced technologies, has transformed the way we envision transportation. However, these sophisticated systems also introduce new security challenges that must be addressed to ensure safe and reliable operation. Intelligent connected vehicles rely on advanced communication technologies, such as WiFi, Bluetooth, and LTE-V2X to facilitate communication between the vehicle and external systems. However, these communication technologies create significant vulnerabilities, providing potential entry points for attackers to exploit. In addition to communication vulnerabilities, the reliance on diverse data sources, including sensor data, images, and radar signals for control decisions also creates opportunities for attackers to inject fake data signals to mislead the vehicle. As intelligent connected vehicles integrate almost everything in the transportation system, including vehicle-to-infrastructure, vehicle-to-cloud, and vehicle-to-pedestrian communications, the potential threats to the system security become more complex and heterogeneous. Protecting against these vulnerabilities requires robust security measures and innovative solutions to ensure the safe and secure operation of intelligent connected vehicles. By addressing these security challenges, we can help unlock the full potential of intelligent connected vehicles, making transportation safer, more efficient, and more sustainable for all.
We strongly believe that it is crucial and imperative to re-evaluate the security issues of intelligent connected vehicles in this particular issue. This Special Issue (SI) will assist both the research and industrial communities in enhancing the foundation of intelligent connected vehicles. Potential topics include but are not limited to:
Hard-code cracking and defense techniques of intelligent connected vehicles.
