*Computational Aspects of Vehicular Networks*
Connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs) are the future of intelligent transportation. This future relies heavily on advancements in vehicular networks (VANETs), particularly their ability to process and communicate real-time data. This special issue explores the transformative potential of improved computational capabilities within VANETs. The goal is to leverage the computational aspects of VANETs and examine advancements and challenges in processing, communication, collaboration, and integration with emerging technologies like edge and fog computing and embedded artificial intelligence.
We invite researchers, practitioners, and industry leaders to submit original contributions that explore this exciting convergence. We are particularly interested in research articles that address the synergies between edge computing and VANETs, focusing on the challenges and opportunities arising from this integration.
Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):
·Mobility and Networking:
oContext-Aware Routing.
oCongestion Control & Shaping.
·Integration with Edge, Fog, and Cloud Computing:
oFog Computing for VANETs.
oSecure Task Offloading.
·Resource Management and Allocation:
oOnboard Resource Management.
oResource Provisioning & Pricing.
·Security and Privacy:
oPrivacy-Preserving Task Offloading.
oSecure Communication Strategies.
·Machine Learning and AI for VANET Integration:
oOn-vehicle Machine Learning
oFederated Learning for Data Analysis.
