WoNGeN 2011 http://www.iith.ac.in/~wongen Workshop on Next Generation Wireless Networks
in Conjunction with IEEE HiPC 2011 Conference http://hipc.org/hipc2011/index.php, Bangalore, India, December 18, 2011.
CALL FOR PAPERS
The focus theme of WoNGeN 2011 workshop is Next Generation Wireless Networking systems. Wireless networks are playing an increasingly critical role in the evolution of communication technologies. In every decade we see a new wireless networking technology's rise to prominence. With the recent innovations in 3G/4G cellular technologies, Wi-Fi systems, wireless mesh networking, ad hoc wireless networking, and wireless sensor networking, many new applications such as Wireless Internet, Mobile Commerce, and Smart environments are becoming realities. From the evolution of broadcast communications to the four generations of cellular networking, cognitive networking, pervasive communications, or machine-to-machine (M2M) communications, wireless networking technologies have provided substantial push to the world's economic growth. In its multiple areas of growth, cognitive networking, pervasive communications, and M2M dominate today's examples of the forefront of wireless communications and networking.
Another important area of next generation communications and computing is Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) where close interactions between computing, communications, and physical world are envisioned. Further, significant interest exists in provisioning efficient and scalable end-to-end solutions to utilize the wireless networks for crisis mitigation and management. In the event of unexpected natural or man-made disasters, the design of future wireless networks should contain inherent design ingredients to handle the graceful degradation to an emergency response communication system. This workshop focuses on the core issues of design, analysis, experimentation of end-to-end or layer-wise solutions that focus on the next generation of wireless networks.
We invite researchers and practitioners to submit theoretical and experimental results on topics of interest included but not limited to the following:
* M2M Communication technologies * Cognitive Radio Networking * Cyber Physical Systems * Delay Tolerant Networks * Architectures and Protocols for next generation wireless networks * Pervasive Computing and Communication Systems * MAC, Network, Transport, and Application layer protocol design for next generation wireless networks * Future Generation Cellular Networks * Green Communication Networks * Wireless Ad hoc, Mesh, and Sensor Networks * Wireless Mesh Networks for tactical applications * Application oriented design for Sensor Networks * Pervasive Communication and Computing Systems * Design of wireless networks for emergency handling * Fault tolerance and recovery in wireless systems * Automated crises management systems for next generation wireless networks * Design of distributed wireless network control centers for aiding emergency situation handling
All submissions should be written in English with a maximum paper length of SIX (6) printed pages (10-point font) in IEEE 2-column style including figures, tables, and references.
Only PDF files will be accepted for the review process and all submissions must be done through web-based submission system https://cmt.research.microsoft.com/WONGEN2011/
Continuing its tradition, In order to recognize the most meritorious paper accepted at WoNGeN 2011, we will award a Best Paper Award (Rs. 20,000/-) sponsored by Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST).
The WoNGeN 2011 will be held in the beautiful and charming Bangalore (Bengaluru) City in India along side IEEE HiPC 2011 on Dec. 18, 2011 at The LaLiT Ashok Bangalore Hotel.
