CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
to the
1st Workshop on Experimental Evaluation and Deployment Experiences on Vehicular networks (WEEDEV 2008) March 18, 2008, Hotel Grauer Baer, Innsbruck, Austria (in conjunction with TRIDENTCOM 2008)
SCOPE: Many people in modern societies spend a lot of time in their cars. Communication possibilities in vehicles have been restricted in the past mainly to cellular communication networks. Enabling broader communication facilities in cars is an important contribution to the global trend towards ubiquitous communications. Cars should provide access to Internet and should be able to communicate among themselves, supporting new services and applications.
The objective of this 1-day workshop is to attract the most recent developments in the area of experimental evaluation and deployment experiences on vehicular networks, and bring together active researchers in an environment that encourages discussion and exchange of ideas.
CONFERENCE PROGRAM: Besides a the presentation of the high quality accepted papers, the technical programme will include:
- A key-note speech by Dr. Hannes Stratil, tittled "The European CVIS Project and IPv6 Deployment for ITS" - A panel session: "The future of vehicular communications"

LOCATION: The workshop will take place at the Hotel Grauer Baer (www.innsbruck-hotels.at/grauerbaer) which is located in the immediate city center, just a two-minute walk away from the historic Old Town of Innsbruck. The Universitätsstrasse is part of a very quiet area and is well known for its numerous cafes and bars.
REGISTRATION: Early Registration is open until February 15th 2008 (https://icst.org/registration/reg_tridentcom_2008_eu.php). Reduced registration fees are available for students and members of ICST, CREATE-NET, ACM and INRIA. Joint registration to WEEDEV and TRIDENTCOM is also possible for a reduced fee.
