CALL FOR PAPERS
Wiley Security and Communication Networks Journal
Special Issue on:
Security for QoS Assured Wireless and Mobile Networks
*********************************************************************
*********************************************************************
***********************************
BACKGROUND AND SCOPE
***********************************
With the recent development and popularity of wireless communication and mobile networking, security and quality of service (QoS) represent two critical requirements for network services in today's inter-networked world. While good quality of service assurance requires efficient security mechanisms to ensure the satisfaction of mobile users, poor quality of service can have a devastating effect on the performance of the networks as well as the selection of better security mechanisms to be used by the wireless telecom providers. For these reasons, security and QoS management of wireless and mobile communication systems are becoming very crucial components for future generation of wireless and mobile networks.
This special issue focuses on the study of all aspects of security and quality of service assurance for wireless and mobile networks. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):
+ Security and quality of service interactions.
+ Security in wireless MANETs, VANETs, sensor, mesh and PCS networks.
+ Secure wireless access and secure routing.
+ Secure cooperation-based systems and services.
+ Secure wireless communication in multi-mode, multi-type systems.
+ Location-based key distribution techniques for wireless heterogeneous networks.
+ Intrusion detection in wireless ad hoc and sensor networks.
+ Peer-to-peer security issues.
+ Privacy, anonymity and authentication.
+ Trust management for cooperation-based systems and services.
+ Quality of security for wireless multimedia networks and systems.
+ QoS and security in wireless VoIP systems and services.
+ QoS provisioning in wireless multimedia systems.
+ Security and quality of service assurance in the wireless internet.
+ QoS assurance and routing.
+ Real-time and quality of service protocols for wireless networks.
+ Handoff schemes in differentiated QoS wireless networks.
+ QoS in multi-hop wireless networks.
+ Secure differentiated QoS services for mobile networks.
+ Security for 802.11, etc.
+ Secure real-time based architecture for mobile networks.
