============================================================================================ Call For Papers 2024 IEEE GLOBECOM Workshop on Next Generation Intelligent Wireless Emergency Communications December 8-12 2024 //Cape Town, South Africa ============================================================================================
Important Dates: Workshop Paper Submission Deadline: 15 August 2024 Paper Acceptance Notification: 1 September 2024 Camera Ready: 1 October 2024 Tentative Workshop Date: December 12, 2024
Background and Scope
Emergency communication is crucial for supporting comprehensive disaster response strategies, offering a high level of reliability within intricate rescue scenarios. This involves the integration of ground-air-space networks, encompassing satellites, aerial platforms, and terrestrial networks, to create a three-dimensional (3D) communication framework. The growing complexity of 3D network applications is driving an unprecedented need for advanced network automation within agile infrastructures. As the emergency communication networking environments evolve, recent initiatives have been developed aiming at establishing emergency communication network automation platforms, highlighting a shift towards more autonomous and intelligent network management systems while ensuring a variety of on-demand Quality of Service (QoS) standards. By incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques, more efficient and reliable network management operations can be achieved.
Topics of interest
We invite submissions of high-quality, original papers in the following (but not limited to) topics: • Satellite/aerial-assisted architecture for AI-based emergency communications; • Development of integrated 3D communication and learning algorithms for realizing an intelligent mobile edge in emergency communications networks; • Resource allocation and service adaptation for intelligent emergency network optimization and protocol design; • Network planning/scheduling for intelligent emergency communications; • Neural networks for wireless emergency communications; • Large generative AI model and technologies in emergency communications; • Semantic communications for wireless emergency communications; • Sensing and localization for wireless emergency communications; • QoS provisioning for ultra-reliable low latency communications (URLLC)/massive Machine Type of Communication (mMTC) assisted emergency communications; • Theoretical limits for fundamental performance analyses; • Testing platform for intelligent emergency communications.
Submission Procedure
The workshop accepts only novel, previously unpublished papers. Prospective authors are encouraged to submit a 5-page standard (up to 6 pages) IEEE conference style paper to this workshop through EDAS submission system. Accepted papers must be presented at the workshop. The presenter must register for the workshop before the deadline for author registration. Failure to register before the deadline will result in automatic withdrawal of the paper from the workshop proceedings and the program.
