Call for Papers A Special Issue of Elsevier Vehicular Communications on
“Heterogeneous Vehicular Networking”
===================================================================================================
Paper submission: May 31st 2016
http://www.journals.elsevier.com/vehicular-communications/call-for-papers/ca...
Scope:
-------
This Special Issue will address voids and opportunities in heterogeneous cooperation between vehicular, mobile and short-range networks across access technologies. The disparity between solutions in these networks results in systems that could operate in completely independent realms. The reality is that connected mobile and stationary devices can benefit from co-operation between vehicular and personal/mobile/local networks from granular to macro levels. Applications can encompass different areas ranging from the Internet of Things (IoT), Device-to-Device Communication (D2D), Mobile Cloud Computing (MCC), Infotainment, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), etc. Heterogeneous vehicular networking will enable seamless resource utilization across different networks and systems to capture resource utility.
The aim of this special issue is to discuss the most recent advances in the interdisciplinary research areas encompassing heterogeneous networking across vehicular, mobile and local networks access technologies. The special issue will bring together researchers from diverse fields to share new ideas, novel research contributions, field experiment results, and standardization effort experiences in the area. This Special Issue also welcome relevant research surveys.
Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):
System Design and Architectures or Heterogeneous Vehicular Networking
Protocols for Heterogeneous Vehicular Networking
Security and Privacy for Heterogeneous Vehicular Networking
Cognitive Heterogeneous Vehicular Networking
Software Defined Networks (SDN) for heterogeneous Vehicular Networking
Applications of Heterogeneous Vehicular Networking
ITS, Smartcities, IoT, D2D, MCC with Heterogeneous Vehicular Networking
Testbeds, Field studies, and Modelling and Simulation of Heterogeneous Vehicular Networking
Submission Format and Guideline
