Journal of Internet Technology CALL FOR PAPERS Special Issue on "Heterogeneous IP Networks" http://jit.ndhu.edu.tw/englisha.php http://jit.ndhu.edu.tw/callforpaper.php
Theme and Scope Research and development efforts in mobile and wireless telecommunication systems and networks enable the rapid growth of fixed and wireless broadband network infrastructures. Today, we are witnessing that the wireless network technologies are being rapidly and widely accepted as a complementary technology of the high-speed wired LAN technologies such as Ethernet for portable and mobile devices: WLAN, GPRS/UMTS, GSM, Bluetooth, ... represent a wide range of possible access network technologies with different proprieties. Beside to this wide range of access networks there is a spread use of different devices (Workstation, PC Desktop, Laptop/Notebook, Palmtop, Mobile phone, ...) with different Operating Systems (Windows, Unix, Linux, Pocket PC, Windows CE, Linux Familiar, Symbian, ...). This complex environment is moving towards a real new research field, the "Heterogeneous IP Networks" where new interesting services can be provided. The objective of this special issue is to present the state-of-the-art, current research and developing activities contributing to all facets of "Heterogeneous IP Networks". The Special issue will serve as a forum for researchers and practitioners to present their original and innovative contributions. This special issue solicits the state-of-the-art research papers on emerging "Heterogeneous IP Networks" technologies, architectures, protocols and applications. Topics of interest include, but not limited to:
- QoS supports in Heterogeneous IP Networks - Mobility managements/supports (roaming and hand of) and location-based services - Inter-working with 2.5G, 3G, and other wireless networks - Power control and management for energy-efficient Heterogeneous IP Networks - Co-existence and Interference among access network technologies - Performance analysis and experimentation of Heterogeneous IP Networks - Security enhancements of Heterogeneous IP Networks - Heterogeneous IP Networks applications and measurements - Simulation study of Heterogeneous IP Networks - Scalability of Heterogeneous IP Networks
